>>

Doesn't look bad. The gun itself needs some work but the paint is fine. Tan does a surprising amount of work in camo. I think from now on I'm just doing tan and one other color, green or brown. When I add both it gets too dark overall. Maybe I could space them out further.

Let tan do the heavy lifting and just spray the other colors sparingly. Lighter shades of brown go a long way though, and you can always make them darker by dusting with black if need be. Less is always more though, get a good base layer down and spend a minimal amount of time on the rest. You'll just compound mistakes by nitpicking and trying too hard.

Will full sized red dots like in pic related ever come back in style?
>>

That was my initial thought. Would eye relief be better? I have to get within an inch to two inches to use it
>>
>>65418415
>How much do you guys like to lube a new rifle

I only put lube on parts that contact things.

>the 4 rails
>the raised part on the bolt (not the carrier)
>a drop on the gas rings
>a few drops down the hole in the buffer tube to get the buffer spring a but slick.
>>
>>65418531
Maybe try Arken or just save up one more paycheck for a dusty ACOG which will retain it's value, be cooler, and definitely won't break. So many stories of broken LPVOs on /arg/ over the years, which is saying something because no one here shoots.
>>
I can see how lpvo's would be fun on paper, but acog life really is peak.
>solid 4x which is where most lpvo users stay anyway
>minimal moving parts
>great glass
>can knock your rifle off of your toolbox and onto the concrete garage floor without it so much as losing zero... for example
>can mount a top dot if you want 1x
>looks cool as fuck
>no batteries
>prompts accusations of war crimes
Fuck maybe I'll buy another one
>>
>>65418582
>Will full sized red dots like in pic related ever come back in style?
Yes but not why you think. Window size doesn't matter but future optics willl be larger & heavier even for a simple 1x due to the onboard ballistic computer suite that will be mandatory for drone meta warfare.
People with heavy optics like LPVO's might make the transition OK but people using lightweight optics like t2 solo or muh COG will be in for a ride awakening.
>>
>>65418591
>>65418633
Looking at an ACOG as well but haven't heard the best things about eye relief
Not sure how true that is but I'll say my current setup with a red dot and magnifier mounted as far back as I can put them I have to either shorten the stock or move my face closer up on the magnifier compared to where I would naturally on the buttstock to get a good sight picture
>>
>>65418642
TA11 is probably the best overall ACOG and has decent eye relief. I wouldn't get a TA33 even if it does have long eye relief, that FOV is tiny.

>>65418283
it’s not even remotely true. a suppressed 10.3 at worse, the least generous numbers, is 20db quieter than a unsuppressed 20” rifle.

barrel length has a small effect on noise. I I understand you have a 20” gun. I don’t know how you plan to hunt coyote, but if you’re shooting off a tripod out of the back of your truck I don’t think it makes a difference what your barrel length is, but in any other application, a suppressed 20 is a unwieldy gun.

.300 is cool and all, but it’s a lot of extra expense over 5.56 for *generally* worse performance. subsonic 300 and suppressed pistol calibers are cool for “mostly” hearing safe shooting, but if you want to take things out to any real distance or incapacitate something, you have to get that bullet moving.

if you’re trying to get started on a budget, focus your funds on the nods first. if you buy a bunch of ancillary shit and cheap out on the experience-defining device, and it makes it less enjoyable, then all the ancillary stuff you bought is a waste

>>
>>65418891
What’s wrong with hux? It’s good enough for fbi HRT and probably one of the most revolutionary suppressor designs right now
>>
>>65418932
No it isn't. It's the first flow through tech and is outdated at this point. They're louder and flashier than a lot of newer lbp cans.
>>
>>65418880
Them and surefire are the top tier suppressors for 556

>>65418959

>>65418995
their muzzle devices suck, but they're part of what makes the can work as well as it does. I prefer the velos over the hux just because it has more flexibility with mounting solutions.

I appreciate that advice, anon. I think my adhd is getting involved or something. I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time today going through all the scenarios in my head, but you’re right. I need to just focus on the nods for now.
I’ll probably just stick with 5.56 then. I watched a video this morning comparing 5.56 to 300, and the difference in ballistics was quite insane.in the future I would like to quiet it down, but I suppose it’s one of those pros and cons scenarios. Do I want a quieter rifle, or a super fast bullet? Hmm..

I don’t care, do what you want, but if it’s a “mk18” I think you know the rc2 is the move.

if you aren’t cloning, I wouldn’t use any of those cans. A rhodie 6, a white bread, a velos, any “full size” flow thru would probably make your gun run a little less violently.

>>65419075
If I had to guess, you’re under the age of 25. you have a long time to buy all the toys you want for whichever application.

I would consider at some point in your spending schedule getting a 5.56 carbine, something between 11.5-14.5

Ive carried rifles from 10.5 to 20 inches, and my favorite rifles are my suppressed 11.5 and my 14.5 a good heavish soft point/bonded round does well out of those barrels at any distance you’d realistically shoot a coyote under nods, and they’re just handy

My current understanding from having read Section 5 "Remedy" of the actual ruling in "Silencer Shop Foundation ET AL, Plaintiffs v. BATFE et al, defendants" is that being a GOA member ALONE, current or future, qualifies an individual for injunctive relief meaning that the defendants, the BATFE et al, are legally prohibited from enforcing the SBR, SBS, Suppressor and AOW form 1 and form 4 requirements against said plaintiff (GOA members)..... As a GOA member and subject to state law... You can manufacturer as an individual not for purposes of sale SBR, SBS, AOW, and Suppressors without F1... Similar to making an 80%->100% AR lower has been in the past. ... It should be noted that you don't have to be a customer of PSA or Silencershop or other commercial plaintiffs to receive injunctive relief IF IF IF you are a GOA member (current or future)

PSA is being fucking gay IMO in their recent video emphasizing that in order to manufacture an SBR, SBS, AOW or suppressor as an individual member of GOA you have to start with a firearm/pistol/shotgun/rifle that you bought from them. Fucking Jews. I'm pretty confident that so long as you're in accordance with state law, if you're a GOA member, you can now manufacture/reconfigure SBS, SBR, AOW, and suppressors similar to how 80%->100% lowers and other firearms were previously, meaning no F1 requirement...

IMO the biggest and most readily actionable thing that we all can be doing is
A) Join GOA
B) Make/reconfigure as many SBR, SBS, AOW, and suppressors as we can in accordance with our local laws.

>>65420132
Join GOA, check local laws, and yeah you can make an SBR etc without form F1

>>65420221
>>65420182
I checked this also and GCA doesn't restrict or otherwise deal with individual non-FFL manufacture of SBS, SBR, AOW, and suppressors.

When did I ever say it was quiet? Also "always shill" is completely false. Show me in the archive where I "always shill" it. I was VERY careful when describing my experience with the BT PrintX Mini 556K not to make any outlandish subjective claims. I focused entirely on its objective quantitative merits, namely the length (4" sans mount), weight (~8.7oz sans mount), the material (Inconel), and the cost ($350-$550 depending).
Also at this point just by virtue of how fast the industry is innovating the can is outdated technologically... it was discontinued long ago.
The truth is that your post isn't actually about the can, or even suppressors in general. It is about how triggered you get by someone tripping, a reflection of your own insecurity.

This is bullshit PSA is peddling like the fucking kike fucks they are. Read the god damn ruling. Fuck PSA for trying to pull this shit. As far as I understand ANY of the plaintiffs including most importantly and saliently all current and future GOA members are provided injunctive relief meaning the BATFE is legally barred from enforcing NFA Form 1 requirements upon such plaintiffs, meaning you don't have to buy the firearm from PSA or anyone... if you're a GOA member or otherwise included in the party of plaintiffs you can simply privately manufacture an SBS, SBR, AOW, or Suppressor like any other title 1 private firearm manufacturing process, meaning no Form 1, no registration requirement.

You could make it from an 80%.. You could make it from an already serialized rifle, pistol, shotgun, or firearm. It doesn't have to have been purchased through PSA.

They didn't even read the ruling that they were plaintiffs to. Or they did, and they're being kike jews trying to get a bunch of lowers to sell quickyl.

Faggots.

Did PSA actually say it only applied to rifles bought through them? where is the proof

>>65421065
They did in their IG post this morning and that knife hand faggot Cameron said like N+27 times that AND AND AND you have to be a GOA member AND have bought the firearm/shotgun/receiver/pistol from PSA in order to be covered and make an SBS/SBR/AOW without Form 1 registration requirements but from my understanding of the law and the ruling this isn't the case. Read the ruling. It doesn't specify that injunctive relief is provided in such a narrow scope. There is no specification about the initial firearm/rifle/pistol/shotgun having come from one of the plaintiffs to another... It is nonsense and if it weren't for the high likelihood that some idiot at PSA just can't read.... I would say it is PSA deliberately misrepresenting the ruling to try to get some quick sales. They're a big company, big presence. Imagine how quick they would sell a bunch of their trash if everyone where state law allowed thought that all they had to do is be a GOA member and buy a PSA lower to make a legal unregistered SBR... when the truth is such individuals can do so with ANY lower, even an 80% they finished themselves (check your local laws)....

And this is how we lose our republic, when common men willfully sink into the mired slop of intellectual complacency, neglecting to engage in discourse, philosophy, civics, and in law.
I've read the ruling? Have you? I'm relatively confident in my interpretation, but I'm not sure. I would be more sure if a large body of other men with English literacy also took the time to read the ruling and arrived at the same conclusion. Perhaps we could join in collective analysis of the language, come to an agreement on its meaning (after all isn't this just language in practice), and as such in effect codify the law by way of our own administration of it? Is a judge not bound by linguistic interpretation (metaphysically)
>awfully worked up
Right now there is the potential for the legal creation of millions of SBRs and SBS and AOWs... in a matter of minutes if not just a few hours. Seems reasonable to get worked up over. Too bad the average literacy level of the country is 5th grade and dropping fast with each somali shit head immigrant that comes in.

>>
>>65421191

>>
>>65421162
for the record, i'm not disagreeing with you. it's my understanding based off of my readings that suppressor purchases from select retailers in select states will no longer require F4. it's also my understanding that outside of those said retailers, members of GOA are allowed to "manufacture" SBRs and SBSs as long as they're for lawful private use, and not for sale without an F1.

but it doesn't matter what WE read or interpret. we aren't the lawyers, and we aren't the ones writing the law. the only thing that matters is the law and what the law says and how the judge interprets it. compliance during this time is no different than it has ever been: optional. 5 minutes in PSA reviews will show you there are tons of dimwit people who don't comply with the NFA and willfully post noncompliant firearms online with no repercussions.

I agree with you analysis and interpretation of the language of the ruling. I would extend the allowed manufacturing of private SBRs and SBSs to AOWs and suppressors as well though.
>it doesn't matter what we read or interpret
It absolutely does matter. When only the priests could read that bible, was that Christianity? As I already said, the judge is not free to interpret the law however they see fit. They are bound practically and genuinely metaphysically (per my quip about language in practice) by our collective interpretation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a subjectivist, not at all, but this isn't subjectivism. Collective subjective assessment is a type of objective reality in an of itself. It, like all objective measures of reality, is an approximation for the true non-physical reality... again, language in practice. Consider base 10 mathematics (a result of us having 10 fingers and toes) vs base whatever you may please mathematics. Language itself, whether it be English in 2026, or base 10 mathematics, is only (but not to diminish it because it is all we have) is only a proxy for meaning. Yada yada simulation theory.
Thanks for reading the ruling and offering your assessment. It is meaningful.

"@winstonsyme

LPVO is dumb and gay. Consider the NF 2-12 NX6, the NF NX8 2.5-20x (I'm selling one), or the new PA 1.5-12x36 (this one is most ideal IMO).
Mil reticle for sure. Not dumb at all. You'll need a top mounted red dot (but this was necessary even if you went with a LPVO for NVG and CQB use, which is precisely why LPVO with their useless 1x constraining the rest of the optical system are dumb and gay), so consider that with your mount and budget.
Future meta IMO is 11.5" GPR civ HICAR using NAS3 or PEAK ammo with a MPVO with a top dot and a clip on thermal and a side of scope mounted weapon mounted laser range finder WMLR like the Vortex Impact 4000 (I'm also selling one, you should just buy my complete optic setup picture related), or the upcoming Arken Targetlock 3000.

>>65421703
Barring long term high round count longevity, durability, and performance, just inspecting cost vs immediate performance (suppression, weight, length, diameter, material, back pressure), the Rhodie 6 is top of the leaderboard IMO.

Heavy and expensive as shit.

When cans were expensive, niche pieces of kit that normies didn't have ready access to, I absolutely needed one. Now that every fat retard can stick one on the end of his "workin' man budget build", I have changed my personal meta to the A2 birdcage.

>glows the least out of all lbp cans and even has a cover that integrates into the locking collar for an even less glowing
>prg technology that almost eliminates first round pop
>incredible flash reduction, excellent under NODs
>good mounting system
>is designed around a 3 prong flash hider and has extra blast chamber support to minimize the excessive wear typically caused by 3 prongs
>reasonable weight all things considered, lighter and shorter than an rc2
>very low back pressure while still sounding good
As a complete package I believe it's the best 5.56 suppressor out right now and I'm going to buy one soon now that I got to try it in person.

I've heard and shot a Spritus Vent 556i on an 10.3" Mk18 and I was impressed with the suppression. Inconel too. But heavy, longer, and expensive, and the purposely induced porosity PIP might clog with high round counts, reducing the suppression potentially and increasing the weight of the can almost certainly.

the L in LPVO is referring to the minimum magnification you dipshit. last I checked 1.5 and 2 are still considered low. MPVO's start around 3-4x minimum magnification
>>
>>65422086
It does stand for low, which is 1x. It also refers generally to the features that make LPVOs unique from MPVOs, such as objective size. LPVOs try to get close to red dot utility, MPVOs do not make that attempt. /arg/ lead me to MPVOs so they pair well with my COTI, and that is good advice. Hope that helps, dipshitter.

The NF 2-12x42 is a bit long at 12.5" but is probably a decent performer. The Primary Arms 1.5-12x is super short at 9.75" which is awesome for this meta 11.5" GPR thing you're trying to do, but it doesn't have real mil grid reticle so you can't actually hold a real firing solution for precision.... and the turrets are capped... and it is $2k... so all in all pretty shitty and gay. The Vector Continental 2-12x has interested me for a while but it is a cheap $500 chines scope that A2 looked through in person and said was trash... but it is cheap. Could be neat to try. Real mil grid reticle (get the 69 reticle version if you're considering it), and has actual turrets for dialing... but who knows how they track. The safe bet if you got dosh and just want to pull the trigger is probably the NX6 2-12x.. but shop around dude.

>>
>>65422076
When it comes to gun stuff, you really should just buy the most proven shit, even if it's technically inferior to newer offerings.
>>
>>65422037
It’s Inconel, not the first shots, and the same ammo/gun was used with a cat suppressor in the video with the only visible signature being a 1/5th of the size on the first round only. The rhodie had a visual signature for every single round.

Unfortunately it’s a can pushed heavily by paid influencers. Sure it sounds good, but it’s not optimized for a fighting rifle. If you’re going to get a can I’d get one that doesn’t flash like crazy on anything under 16 inches

Fair
I guess I'm confused because I've seen low light tests of the Rhodie 6 and it looked solid to me at least in the visible spectrum. Not as good as dedicated mil cans like SF and KAC, but given everything else IMO it seemed passable enough in terms of flash that I was confident recommending it. I just found this vid and the flash performance seems acceptable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsEG0m5H8zQ
What is curious is how bad the 6J is sparking, not even flashing... I wonder what is up with that. Anyway I'll get an eye out for the original video I saw (I think it was an IG reel) from which I concluded that the Rhodie 6 had acceptable flash reduction.
>>
The name Rhodie sucks and I don't like it
>>
>>65422151
>>65422163
One other thing to take into consideration is the muzzle device you use impacts the performance of low back pressure suppressors far more than they do with traditional suppressors. This has been proven time and time again and it's one of the reasons why some companies lock you into using their proprietary muzzle devices, they want full control of how gas flows through the suppressor.
>>
Case in point: the shartfire rc3 throws fireballs if you don't use the 3 prong it was designed to be used with

Yeah in the video it was one of the best honestly, very impressive, right beneath the mil ones like the KAC, so that actually tracks with your experience.
Ammo is your main tool though for flash reduction.

Oh also people might be getting the QD version of the handguard so they're getting rid of the one that came with the upper. Im currently retrofitting my rifle. I am looking to reduce weight where I can and need some advice. I built it when I was younger and I didn't take weight into account. Here's what I have so far:
>Shorter barrel
Bought a 16in gov't profile mid length replacing my 18 gov't profile rifle length
>Shorter handguard
I currently have an 15in RPTR M-Lok and am looking for either the RPTR 13 in or the Midwest Industries Ultra light handguard. Im looking for a shorter barrel because I am getting a RIFLESPEED Gas Controls adjustable gas block and need a shorter handguard to access the dial.
>Carbine buffer weight/tube vs Rifle Buffer/tube
>IR Laser
I currently have a Dbal D2 about mid way up my handguard and its pretty chucky. Is it worth selling my D2 and getting a FP PEQ 15 or OGL? The D2 is 8.6oz vs the OGL's 8oz and the PEQ's 7.5oz. It doesn't seem like it's worth it. The only positive would be in capability since they'd be FP laser instead of a civilian.
