>>65424238
lubing a gun will never cause failures, glocks are not supposed to be run "bone dry," and the only reason to not err on the side of overlubing is if you live somewhere that is extremely cold enough to change the viscosity or freeze any lube or grease you're using

>>65424247

those were the mk vii deagles which were only in .44 and .357
when they developed the mk xix they increased the size of the barrel and slide for .50ae which came with the top rail unfortunately and now the xix size is standard for all calibers
on a side note the lower frames never changed between the vii and the xix so you would just need an upper swap to convert between them

the problem with over lubing is the gun will literally be dripping oil out of every crevice if you aren't conservative with your amounts, and it's disgusting looking and makes the weapon collect dust. also the owner's manuals on glocks all say to use a minimal amount of lube and it tells you all these areas to always keep dry.

Bought me a S&W Model 36 off Gunjoker the other day and got tracking info today. Kind of a bucket list gun for myself. Probably overpaid ($550) but it looks in fairly good condition for a (supposedly) 1955 era revolver. No original grips but it comes with some vintage Herrett Shooting Star grips which is probably better for my application (poking holes in paper at the range).

Just happens sometimes man. Like anything that takes physical dexterity there are off days. I talked up how good 2011s shoot and how much better they make your groups then laid down some of my worst groups with the staccato I've shot in a month or so. Hands were shaky, I was flinching like a mfer. Just a real off day for groups.

Anyways, kimber 2k11 top left group, staccato P upper right, the venerable $250 blem Tisas 1811 middle (best) group. On any other day I'm sure the tisas would shoot worse than the others, and the staccato definitely would shoot a better group than my average FN509c group. Anyways point is GPT is probably fine and your groups will be awesome with it next time you shoot.

Genuine question, so I recently sold a bunch of shit in an effort to pile up some cash so I can move out of my insufferable fucking boomer parents house (I moved back in during covid and have been stuck here since). All I have left is my full size springfield 1911. I’ve decided I wanna stop being a faggot and actually conceal carry finally cause I’m increasingly paranoid of the way people act in public these days + all the road rage I see every day.

Is carrying a 1911 actually doable or is it just miserable on the belt due to the weight? I don’t really wanna buy anything else right now for the forseeable future is the problem. I will if I have to but I’d rather wait a few months.

I am going to say yes, IF you get a holster and belt combo that works well for a 1911. Heavier guns need a little bit more structure and support from both to be comfortable. You may want to o with some boomer carry options such as leather, and 3-4 o'clock carry.

Full-size limits your ability to actually conceal it but judging where you go or what you’re doing, printing a huge ass gun doesn’t matter - people aren’t looking and if they do, only gun people will know what a printing gun looks like. Unless your shirt lifts up and reveals it.

I conceal carry a full-size 1911 regularly, a commander sized one other times. I have an officer’s sized one for when it is required to be smaller. I carry appendix with a good set up so the weight doesn’t bother me, the weight is really tucked up against my body so it’s not hanging off a belt/waistline like others.

Really depends on how motivated you are to carry it. I love 1911s. I love the history, how they work, and especially how they shoot

You should do what you think is best. I like the retard I am, have a whole stable of carry guns depending on weather, clothes, my current mood, or what matches my socks the best. I started carrying with a CSX and still have a soft spot for it. It can fit in a leather 1911 holster but ideally should be used in a purpose built holster for it.

Yeah. But I wanted to carry my favorite gun so I carried a fullsize 1911 or my PX4.

It depends on your work place, my last job more than a few people were also carrying against the rules. Most of the year I can have a cover garment, wear a hoodie even, which carrying appendix it completely hides the gun. Appendix also makes the region the gun print make people have to look at your crotch to see if you're printing. People don't look there normally.

I don't have a -3 but I have a -2 if that helps?

Overall very good, my -2 has pretty low distortion, but it has a medium-low refresh rate you will notice if you whip the gun around fast, otherwise probly won't. The minimum brightness setting is still too bright for overcast days. And the deck height. Also the price is refriggingdonkulous, they would be reasonable at half what they cost but $600 is insane with this competition. You can get a Defender XL for like half that with a bigger, better lens and only deck height to gripe about

A good belt and a good holster make the world of difference. Carrying appendix with such a large gun you need to either
>live with the discomfort sitting down
>have a holster that moves/adjusts where you can position the gun in a place where it doesn’t maul your soft white underbelly
I use the Phlster enigma rig system, which isn’t cheap, I haven’t tried any good alternatives yet. The Hunter Constantine belt looks like it could work well but the leg leash system of the enigma is what is the game changer for it. I can wear the enigma just a little loose where it moves around (my pants belt keeps the gun to my body) so when I sit the gun shifts downwards and deeper into the pants to be more comfortable.

Thinking about it. Get a nice IWB holster and just carry 3/4 o clock with a Hawaiian shirt as a cover. A patterned shirt hides the outline of a gun well. Carrying appendix requires alot of pain and patience to learn to do it well. I started with a CSX which was super easy since the gun disappears super well

My WML holsters index off both the slide and WML, although primarily off the light. Unless you either never carry your gun after dark and only anticipate being mugged in broad daylight you should have a light. Handheld lights are silly unless you actually do draw drills and train shooting more with a handheld light in one hand then you do without it, but I never see anyone doing that.

Nta but yeah. The p938 is very flippy in the hand, but not any more so than the 43x which is also very muzzle flippy glockfags just don't try other shit to find that out. I'd really reccomend the CSX-e though, the slide is smoother to rack, the slide release and mag release are easier to actuate, the trigger is better. It's just a 1 to 1 upgrate for every part of the gun you interact with so there isn't much point in getting the origional CSX unless you're poverty stricken.

P938 shoots really good for such a small flippy gun though, pic rel bottom right group is p938, held it's own against full sizes with good triggers. My ex carried one and she really liked it, if you end up going in that direction I don't think you'll be upset.

>>65426112

Yeah, it's definitely a noticeable improvement on muzzle rise and felt recoil. Conversely the VP9 and PDP both have a lot of felt recoil and muzzle flip for their size, if you're looking for the opposite end of things to compare it with at a rental range or something. If you want a middle of the road muzzle rise/felt recoil option to compare it to every rental range in america will have a M&P 2.0 compact.

Anyone with a hk45t shoot suppressed? I recently picked one up and when I went to shoot it suppressed with S&b 230 grain I was getting a ltw of blowback. The suppressor is an old octane 45 which I understand there will be some, but I'm talking chunks of either carbon or unburnt powder flying at my face fast enough it actually stung. If I didn't have glasses I would be worried for my eyes. I just want to know if anyone else had a similar experience or maybe I just need to find an ammo that burns faster. The gun was brand new and had maybe 50rds through it before I tossed on the suppressor.

Wasn't that the guy who saved his spaceship in a battle by literally doing the extremely difficult thing of moving the joystick reticle over the red dot representing the enemy ship and pressing the button, despite "Not having qualificatios or training to do so. And they thought this was such an act of heroism over and above the call of duty that he got to go see the Galactic emperor for a medal awarding ceremony. And he cracked out of pride and knelt and hugged the emperor's pants only to be told that it's a body-double actor and he had ruined the propaganda shot and they would have to do it again. What gun have you had the magazine pop out in the holster on? I can see that theoretically being a problem with aftermarket super large mag releases or maybe a holster that doesnt cover the mag release. I did have a cop escorting a patient years ago who claimed their department was going away from the FNS-9 to something without a ambi mag release because some cop rolled around on the ground with a suspect and the mag dropped when he went to shoot. I'm gonna go ahead and blame police incompetence in that case though, especially since I've seen other videos of cops dropping the mags out of their non ambi release glocks when they go to draw because they're retarded and hit it on the draw

QVO tactical poppys of war. Its a very nice holster. The black insane kydex creations holster is a bit more comfortable jogging and hiking with as the QVO hugs the leg closer. That does make the QVO holster more comfortable when sitting and also more concealable. Both are good, if the IKC didn't have like double the lead time and cost $40 more I'd tell you to pick which one suits how you carry. But it is so get the QVO.

That means that the internals are considered the gun, right? As opposed to glock in which the grip is considered the gun. Wish all companies did the former, I couldn't swap out my glock frame without it being in a pain in the ass.

Just pick one and stop overthinking it. They're all basically the same, and they're all equally useless if you can't shoot. Your priority should be trigger time, not agonizing over slight differences between the most generic guns on the market.
>>
>>65426714
Well, the chassis design does have its cons, too. Oftentimes, you'll find that a lot of small parts are integral to the chassis itself, which means you can't replace them (see the P320 ejector, or the Zev OZ9 locking block). So, you trade replaceability of some parts (like the grip frame) for others.
>>
>>65426708
The BG2.0 looks like what I'm looking for as far size goes . I'm not a very big person so the smaller the better. I'll add that to the list, and try them both out when I get a chance to go to a range.

Had to look it up, seems like the P320 has an issue with the ejector bending. So this is heat pressed into the chassis? And anyway, on a glock aren't the rails heat pressed in as well making them integral?
>>
>>65426759
did canik ever make a proper P99 AS clone?
>>
>>65426740
>Dunsparce can learn Toxic
ohh shit, it's not a coincidence
>>
>>65426763
Well, a couple of things: the main issue with the P320 ejector is that Sig offers many different lengths of magazines
for the P320, many different grip designs, and there are many aftermarket makers of magazine baseplates, and the P320 does not have a magazine over insertion stop, other than the magazine baseplate. So, you get yahoos who jam in their extended magazines with an aftermarket grip module and aftermarket baseplates into their P320, and this can make contact with and bend the ejector, which if it gets bad enough can brick the entire FCU (and therefore the gun). This doesn’t realllly happen using the correct stock magazine/grip combo. Sig learned their lesson on this, and substantially beefed up the ejector for the P365.

Slide rails are very often integral to a gun, whether FCU or traditional, but you don’t really apply lateral/vertical force to them as you do an ejector, so they tend to last. They’re also substantially stronger than ejectors.
>>
>>65426782
Sorry, couldn't tell you. I'm not super familiar with their lineup; I got this one as a gift and have had it as my nightstand gun for years. Thinking of replacing it with a glock or something similar, not sure yet.

The claw just fucking snapped

When it did work, I did not like how heavy it was and honestly I was fine with the recoil of the polymer grip.

If you appreciate odd tales from history then yes. It has a number of essays aroun a broad variety of 'dark' history, such as ritual child sacrifice and cannibalism. But the most interesting thing for me was reading about recorded instances of soldiers or warriors going into a bloodlust or battle rage with several examples from the modern era. The writing gets stale in a few places as the author doesn't really incentivise the reader so much as just present their research, but I found it interesting. They have another book focusing on death rituals which was equal parts disturbing and fascinating

>ig Sauer's $169.5 million bid outperformed Glock's $272.2 million bid, according to GAO, which made the Sig Sauer proposal the "best value to the government." The Army's initial announcement of the contract award to Sig Sauer described the deal as being worth up to $580 million, but the reason for the discrepancy is not clear.

>"So one of the least important factors as they said in the RFP would be the price; that is what became the most important factor," Dorsey said.

>"So let's think about that for a minute ... you are going to go forward making that decision now without completing the test on the two candidate systems that are in the competitive range? Does that make sense if it's your son or daughter sitting in that foxhole somewhere?"

>Glock also argued that the Army's testing only went up to 12,500 rounds when the "service life of the selected pistol is specified to be 25,000 rounds," according to Glock's legal argument to GAO.

not 35k, only 25k.

The extractor explodes? The whole gun explodes sometimes (more frequently than competitor brands). The magazine over insertion stop is based on the magazine base plate and bottom of the grip frame (it sucks). It can work well form competition but is poorly engineered and QC'd on a lot of fronts.
