>Glock 19 Gen 6 has a New York compliant version
>Ships with 10 round mags instead of 15 round mags. That's it.
Huh.
Speaking of New York, the only glaring concern and restriction on handguns that are feature based is the capacity limit. Which by happenstance makes single stack models more appealing for concealed carry
What guns would you all recommend that is at least Glock 19 sized? Helping a lady friend picking out a gun (she recently got her permit approved)

All 10 round mags should be easily convertible into a higher capacity and any that aren't are manufacturers that are no friend of mine

It would be funny if their aids guns had the mag catch in the wrong spot so they weren't even compatible with regular mags. Put the release at the bottom of the grip to make it a humiliation ritual.

That’s me, uhh I wouldn’t say I’m a subject matter expert having met a head gunsmith at Detonic’s (who personally worked on at least one of my guns).

I don’t know, but guns with dual or triple recoil spring assemblies seem to be better with Detonic’s triple spring assemblies almost never having to be replaced. But my Wilson Combat Sentinel (3.5 inch) in 9mm went 3000 rounds without an issue. A tiny 1911 has to be built right for all the various timing of the cycling timed right to be reliable, compared to a full-size gun the window is much smaller.
>>

Hey, quick question, are the Bakelite grips on a Makarov dangerous if they start chipping or getting rubbed against something? Like, when little Bakelite particles get chipped off during lenyard use or something else, including potentially becoming airborne and being breathed in?

Not fat. Pocket carry is based.
First, it's the most comfortable method. This is important. It is important from a safety standpoint that comfort never discourages you from carrying.
Second, you have a distinct tactical advantage when you have the advantage of your spidey sense going off ahead of time. You can simply stick your hand in your pocket, a normal thing to do in public, and grip your handgun. At this point your draw will be faster than any other method.
Third, when you do not have the advantage of your spidey sense going off ahead of time, with practice and the right pockets, you can achieve a draw time which isn't THAT much slower than appendix or hip carry. Again, the key here is practice and the right pockets. If your pocket carry draw speed is significantly slower than your appendix or hip carry speed, you need to practice more and/or you need different pockets.
In my opinion, the comfort and the draw speed when you can stick your hand in your pocket ahead of time more than make up for the slightly slower draw speed when you can't stick your hand in your pocket ahead of time, making pocket carry the ideal method.

Depends on the weather. Could be shorts pocket. Could be pants pocket. Could be jacket pocket. Always in a holster.
For shorts/pants the key is somewhat loose fitting shorts/pants with wide, generous pockets. No faggy skinny jeans, obviously. Find shorts/pants with pockets that are easy to quickly stick your hand into and your draw speed should not be that much slower than hip/appendix carry. It's inadequate pockets that slow down pocket carry draw speed more than anything else, followed by a lack of practice.

Nice. It’s pretty great never having other people shooting next to you. Nobody bitching about practicing your draw or rapid fire or shooting while moving. I got some of those little orange cones for sports practice and I’ll set up little courses. I keep them in my trunk 24/7 now along with some other range stuff. You’ll probably find yourself shooting a lot more now.

84bb barrel almost entirely clean. The trigger isnt perfect but I actually like a slightly harder but crisper final break. As far as that goes, I kinda like it more than the stock Performance Defensive but the 84bb has more grit overall. Don't actually like 2nd stages that are too light, I want a mild amount of pressure to stage my finger and then just a bit more right off a crisp wall. Wonder if I can go to LTT and try and autistically explain this when I have them touch up the trigger on the 92x? Getting new grip screws & recoil spring for the 84bb though mine seems fine & ludicrously strong already. Sadly some spots of pitting on the top of the slide around the barrel & in between the serrations and the grip screws but I'm already replacing those. Mine was made in 1987, super worthwhile purchase imo.
>>
What's up guys, I'm not really a big gun guy but I have a hellcat pro for home defense. just buy blackpowder and have one of the guns clint actually used. you dont want a 22lr if your plan is spinning it. theres 2 options for 22 revolvers cheapo guns like the wrangler or rough rider that are roughly 3/4th scale or really expensive this 22lr smith and wesson or taurus cost as much as a 357 mag/44. while being a modern not western revolver.
just get the blackpowder youll be happier with it as a fidget spinner. or a saa if you want to shoot it.

The real secret is that sig has never been good, the old ones were stamped trash, then they switched to forged frames, so okay for like 5 years in the early 90s they were ok (when the SEALs acquired some) now they seem to be cast frames, and have been for some time. My father in law has an old 220 and it's fucking garbage.
>>
>>65484500

I also want to add that if you want to fan a revolver, you should really look into what you need to do. You can’t just take a stock gun like a SAA and do that. It’ll mess up the timing. I have heard that a black powder revolver like an 1851 navy is easier to mod for that.
Plus if you by some chance don’t want to shoot cap and ball, you can always buy a conversion cylinder to shoot modern cartridges. However you cannot shoot jacketed bullets.

>>
>>65484588
I get it with the warranty, really do man. That's the most appealing thing about the gun. But damn son you shouldn't actually have to USE the warranty. Tommyboy said it best. If it's a piece a shit who cares if it's got a lifetime warranty? You've just got a guaranteed piece of shit.
Just think of your sanity brother
>>
>>65484626
Regardless what they say, no turkshit is forged.
>>
>>65484625
The frame is the only part that has serials if you buy it completely finished. Slide and grip can be non-enumerated. The biggest reason I had to build my own is that all these faggot manufacturers only made them in 38/9/40 instead of the original .45 ACP. That and I wanted uncut slab sided slides without front serrations.

>Pastebins could be here, he thought. "I've never been in Arizona before. Pastebins could be anywhere". The dry wind felt good against his skin. "I hate pastebin" he thought. Sweet dreams are made of this (slowed and reverbed) reverberated his entire car, making it pulsate even as the $5000 nighthawk circulated the entire nighthawk rma shop and washed away his (merited) fear of Pastebins on the range. "With a 1911, you can shoot whatever stage you want" he said to himself, out loud

I know, it's hilarious. You literally cannot trip the trigger early by being faster than the disconnector on a properly functioning gun though. If you pull the slide back from hammer down and press and release the trigger however many times you want while doing a full slide cycle the hammer will not fall until he gun is back into battery and you pull the trigger. If it does then something is wrong with the gun and it looks like something is still wrong with your gun which is dead ass embarassing for nighthawk and they should just give you a new fucking gun if they can't find and fix the problem.

Recently won some OEM Beretta 92 wood grips on funbroker. I had been using the LOK grips which are some of my favorite grips I own due to how they made one of my favorite guns feel absolutely incredible but I've had the wood ones installed for about 30 minutes now and I keep glancing over and blushing like a schoolboy crush. If I had to rate them:

>LOK:
10/10 feel
7/10 look
>Wood:
2/10 feel
12/10 look
>>
>>65484715
Fucking RIP. Check your trigger bow, they may have set it too far to the rear which makes it not give enough space for the sear and disconnector to properly reset. Also, pull the slide back on hammer down and lock it back. Then cock the hammer a little bit more to see it it is actually locked or borderline or not even engaged.
>>
>>65484740
Could have sworn LOK or another company made G10 grips in a faux wood pattern
>>
>>65484748
Possibly. I still want to pick up some of their brass grips but that would look way better on a black 92 than an Inox. Swapping grips is so fast and painless that I don't mind having one set of grips for actually shooting and the other just to look sexy. The fudds at the local range already love me because I'm a revolver guy; if I walk past them with these wood grips they're gonna start trying to marry their granddaughters off to me.

IIRC the P-10 M has the trigger people don’t like, not the S which should have the same excellent trigger as the C and F

You should get one then, I don't think colt makes officers anymore so you may have to get a defender or look on the used market (or go for the s&w defender sized 1911). People say they are especially unreliable but I think they're like any other variant of 1911, reliant on being fit well and sprung correctly. My Detonics has been uber reliable.

thats the thing the recoil spring life is drastically reduced compared to a govt. govt is over 5k with no problems. officer is if you made it to 1k you had a good one.and you really cant tell when its about to go bad unless you were tracking the whole time. with a govt it can feel wrong and still work. you have a bunch of time to notice somethings wrong and replace it. with an officer shit feels fine when racked but will jam when fired.

She's super religious and has adopted like 6 black teenagers as she feels it's her religious duty to feed and clothe and house them. I really wanna pay someone to make a wraparound grip frame that is made of rubber or g10 and is skeletonized on the sides so you can have a sort of shock absorbing liner + whatever regular grips you want. Just ordered the LOK curved back ones with the palm swell. Took me way too long to diagnose why the fit felt different vs my CZ and even though both are close to being the same, I think the major issue is the front angles of the Beretta grip are a lot more squared and that really impacts how my finger can wrap around the front. Hoping the Palm swell version adds just enough extra curvature to it that my finger has a better alignment with the trigger.

I will say admittedly I’ve just never been a fan of 45. Thus far I’ve had two different guns in 45 and I’m just simply not a fan.

I don't often shoot around others but I went to a range today to put several hundred rounds through a new gun. I was feeling okay about being slightly more on target than the other guy when someone else walked in and I could tell they were getting some coaching. So when I shot a new target and got a nice little 3 round group I imagined that someone took notice of my totally average feat, psyched myself out, and fired the rest of the mag off in seemingly random directions. It was fun and I should go back.

I've read that you often don't need to use a booster with a 92FS suppressed but does that mean you shouldn't use a booster? You might not need it, what the booster does it send the force back towards the slide instead of letting hit the end of the suppressor and not cycle.

I wouldn't recommend a 2011 for a first pistol just like I wouldn't recommend a Lambo for a first car. Start out with a Honda Civic and use the money you saved to buy a holster, mags, ammo and training
>>
>>65485430
The boring answer is what do you plan on using it for? Is this a carry gun? Is it one you can carry concealed daily 18 hours a day? The 2011s came from comp shooting so they're gonna be heavier and need a lot more careful cleaning and handling. The un fun answer is your first handgun is your only handgun until you get another and I think it should at least be adequate as a carry gun as well even if you never plan on CCing. If you want something conceptually close, the CZ Shadow 2 P01 is a damn good compact pistol that is already solid with some tuneups. You can get one yourself and do most of if not all of the work for a lower price. There is a mythical run of steel lowers if you really want all steel. But I'd say start from a position of looking for a good carry gun and then seeing what nicer 'trim' packages you can get for it. IIRC that one Israeli 1911 company has some pretty good 'carry gun with some high end competition fit and finish' options.
>a 2011 but it looked more like a boomer .45 acp 1911 in stainless with a wood grip

I really hate recommending them but if you swap out the wood grips the Kimber is probably the closest I can suggest https://www.kimberamerica.com/kds9c-silver-9mm

Of course the caveat being, that stainless is more about the steel and you can polish any pistol or pay someone to do it for you.

You're essentially self-selecting into learning how to shoot on easy mode. If that's what you want, then go for it. You should understand, though, that you're still going to get mogged by people who actually know how to shoot, regardless of platform. It's not the gear that makes the shooter.
Most people will tell you to pick a cheaper gun and then spend your money on ammo and range time because that will build skill much faster, but if a 2011 is the only thing that gets your juices pumping, then go with the 2011.

I would much sooner get a Staccato or a Kimber than the Sig 2011, but that's just me.

The P211 has swappable grip panels but are too thin for wood, a laminate or 3d printed wood (sawdust), is possible.

Im sorry but that’s completely retarded
I shot these firearms back to back
If there’s a car analogy to be drawn here, it would be like comparing a slightly sporty bmw 3 series to a used honda civic base model.
As in, slightly zippier but not a fundamentally different thing at all.
In your car analogy, the obvious risk implied is that a first time driver could kill themselves by flying off the highway because of the sheer acceleration and power of the race car. There is nothing even CLOSE to that in comparing a sig p211 to like a walther pdp. You are out of your mind. You would have to be delirious or lead poisoned to think that’s even gesturing towards a reasonable analogy.
Sorry but im not going to waste my money by buying a completely unnecessary and inferior product (in addition to the one I eventually want, thereby actually wasting money, not saving it) because of some insane, bizarre notion that you have to ‘work your way up to it’. I have to imagine this is just some price tag cope. “You have to start with the ‘ol used Glock!! I would never recommend anything under a 9lbs trigger!!”
Completely ridiculous. You don’t give good advice you just seek to harm and mislead others to make yourself feel good. I don’t know how you live with yourself.

Anons, just out of curiosity if someone went hunting and killed a deer what a handgun; what pistol/round would make you think “wow, that guy has to be a fed, there’s no way a non glowie could do that.”
I’m guessing- .380 ACP (Glock 42) suppressed with nods.

Hey anons, I have a Smith & Wesson 3913. I just decided that’s the gun I want start carrying. Does anyone know any good iwb holsters for it?
>>
>>65485612
Correct. It's not obsolete but it is outdated so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

It's irrelevant since the LCP max is better than both. And cheaper.

It's irrelevant since micro 9mm pistols exist but fags keep buying .380 pistols for some reason

>>65485627
I can imagine. It's a weak cartridge in a chunky gun. You should try the Beretta 80x
>>
>>65485634
An LCP/bodyguard 2.0 is much thinner and lighter than any micro 9 even the single stacks, which pretty much don't exist anymore. Then you have tards calling the giant 365 with its mile high bore axis and propensity to break trigger springs and brick a good substitute

What is your hobby that you absolutely need a BG2.0 or LCP over something like a CC9 or comparable subcompact in 9mm? Competitive swimming? Do you need to be armed as a cast member of The Lion King on Broadway?

Neuromancer is great, the sequels are... Less so. I think I've read neuromancer 5-6 times over the years, love it.
Snow crash is a little more of a physical adventure. You could almost imagine them taking place in the same world. Best way I could describe it to someone would be to say that Snow Crash is more blood and neon lights where Neuromancer is more analog green CRT glow and the smell of burning ozone.

I have several swords but really only a couple of "good" ones. Here's a dagger and a wallhanger axe for now

Alright fuck it this probably narrows me down to a single person but whatever. Here are the most recent special releases of The Sword's first 3 albums on vinyl. Almost all my other vinyls up in storage currently. Carry gun aka CZ P01 I shadow'd before it was cool with CGW parts. Book is the US version of The Silmarillion, first edition. Sword is a Wilkinson, Patent Solid Hilt made in 1858 with a Scinde Irregular/Acanthus hilt and an extra wide blade. Wont sword sperg here but the right people will know what that means rarity wise.

That's fucking sick. I have a random blue enamel belt buckle for them I wore for years in college. I wanna get better at tooling leather more freehand style vs a hard stamped pattern and do a special belt for it.
>Picrel is ~4 or so years ago when I did a family photo. I have #1000/1000 on the Freya EP, the setlist this last tour wasnt mindblowing but its insane how good they sounded playing whatever they wanted, ironically a lot slower and lowkey but there was so much more passion put into it.

I need to clear a lot of space and probably move but I really do plan on doing more sword related shit, just under 200 of them when I get all the stragglers in [and then actually finish cleaning all of them in the queue]

Haldeman is based, his Heinlein/Hugo Award story is one of the coolest moments between 2 authors of different generations & times who had different views but still respected the fuck out of each other.

Dude that collection is killer. I still think the first 3 albums from them were the best but probably because I'm old and biased. Warp Riders was such a fantastic concept album though. If I think about it a little I could probably quote the lyrics from all three of the first albums, but as into them as you are you probably don't have to think about it much lel. Killer collection, thanks for sharing it here.

I went all in like that with the band Earth at one point and managed to get a copy of everything Dylan Carlson ever published. It'd take too long for me to pull it all together for a pic.

Yeah big fan of Haldeman and heinlen both, read most of their bibliographies. I don't have many signed albums, i just didn't keep up with collecting vinyl, but I've got a shitpile of signed books around here.
