my recruiter is highly recommending me to get into 1N3X1 (Cryptologic Language Analyst), and 1A8X1 (Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst) since they're in demand and I meet the asvab requirements
now I'm thinking how this benefits me in the long run, so my question is how much money can a cryptologic analyst make on the civilian side?
also what's the difference between the two besides one being on a plan? I understand the Airborne version you get deployed more often, but more days off for college studies?

1N3s have a pretty brutal workload starting off. If you can do 1A8 instead, you absolutely should, whether you're concerned with time to do college or anything else. They also makes slightly more money off the bat. Know that you have very little say in what language you get either way, though.

I haven't researched exactly what civilian prospects one could have coming out of the job, but you will have a clearance and that's a boon.

You don't tell the VA anything, you tell your primary care while you're in to document various nicks and scrapes, hitting your knee on a log, bumping your head, sleeping poorly
Then the VA contracts out the exams to third party providers that just check boxes off on a list to see if you qualify
it's primarily an administrative process not a medical one, so just check the boxes (all information on diagnosing each condition publicly available) and you're probably going to get a very high percentage
