Despite their long service, they had never previously been used in combat.>Their first known combat use, however, was unsuccessful. The DF-15A apparently malfunctioned during its flight and crashed in the desert. Houthi forces subsequently recovered wreckage from the missile, including the fairing of its booster, as can be seen in these videos.
