>>65551811I would say a full size revolver.
>>65551882I was thinking the same thing. Probably counts as a meme gun though, I don't have one either.
>never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy>unless it's your cock, balls and femoral artery
if it's gonna be a full size, why not just get a more accurate and higher velocity carbine in that same cartridge. full size wheelguns are inferior range toys, and not for carry.

>>65551887I would say that they are fun, even if there is no real reason to carry one. Besides .357 is a comfy caliber, though I don't have one atm (only revolver I have currently is a Single Six, which I can recommend). I got mine (with the Talo exclusive grips) a few months ago for $425 or almost half off what the MSRP is. Worth the money for a new gun at that price.>>65551915As a backup gun, right, anon? Right?

So, what would be a good holster for a 1911 since we are getting into winter carry weather soon?Lefthanded, somewhere between 9 and 11 o'clock would be my carry position. >>65552148Wild Turkey costs about the same and tastes a lot better.I miss bourbon.>>65552235>pocket .380acp covers all your realistic handgun needsTrue. I usually carry a pocket .380, but 1911s are so much cooler.
Does anyone have a Charter Arms 44 special?I wanna see the size comparison next to something like a model 10 S&W or Glock or something.
>>65552255this creature will be a suburban karen with two kids by age 35
>>65551893I shoot my full size pistols better than my compacts, and I can carry a full size with a crewneck or hoodie which makes it viable for 2/3rds of the year depending on what state I'm in at the time. I cannot carry a carbine while I'm hiking or exploring a new hood spot after midnight looking for some good food after a shift (shout out Side Chicks in Detroit my beloved late night bite). Their barrel proof single barrel ryes are incredible, try to find one from warehouse 7 or 9 they usually have a fantastic maple syrup note to em. >>65552290I actually draw my 509c faster than my arex just due to repetition and hundreds if not a thousand draw drills. I'll get there eventually with the arex but I really don't feel the need to carry 18+1 over 15+1 on 360 out of 365 days especially if it comes at the cost of draw speed.

>>65552302>>treat every gun like it's loaded>>65551888>>never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroyFolks gotta stop being dogmatic about literal NRA propaganda. It had it's place 60 years ago when folks had no concept of firearms safety but it's gone too far and is now holding back firearm training and handling. I miss the days where the Bointing group was popping off on facebook fingering the triggers of their guns pointed at their dicks with a live round in the chamber. First guy to shoot his dick off got made a moderator. Would drive the very people that post comments like "I didn't see you check the chamber before you touched the trigger" on ben stogers videos without a hint of irony nuts.
>>65552330I travel for work, different hospital every 3-6 months. At that particular place I was staying the closet was the only place without a ton of natural light which can degrade whiskey after long periods of time. Same thing with wine, theres a reason folks keep it in the cellar and its not just temperature.

>>65552370Based logh enjoyer. It was wrecking my insides and I was probably drinking too much. I feel sick when I see whiskey now.
>>65552364Good job anon, that's something to be proud of. Even if it wasn't a big problem for your behavior it's a big spend especially if you go out to bars and stuff. I probably spend $2k a year collecting whiskey, that's a lot of money that can be spent elsewhere.
>>65552369>copper-plated 148 grain 38 special wadcutters finally in-stockBrand? Source? These CamPro brand ones were too thin plated so some shaved copper even though they passed the "plunk" test after I expanded the case months while reloading. 2.8grs of Titegroup.
>>65552381The ones in this video: https://youtu.be/qo34jH7yf3UThere's only one box of 50 in stock right now because I bought the other four that went up for sale today haha. I've been checking the page daily and today is the first day they've been available, so I imagine they JUST started making them again. I imagine more will be available in the coming days.Got them because the ballistics testing in the above video suggests they're superior to plain lead wadcutters at blowing through barriers like car glass or large amounts of winter clothing.

>>65552375Understandable.
>>65552392GunSam. Nice! I like his videos. He confirmed my Shield .45 bias even though I bought mine a few years before I saw his review lol.As for .38 WCs, you should learn to reload. Saves a ton of $ for .38, .357, 10mm and .45.
>>65552412>As for .38 WCs, you should learn to reload. My concern with this is I've never been good/precise at making three-dimensional things with my hands.Drawing class? I rocked that shit - won multiple awards in high school.3D art class? Nope. Fucking terrible at it. Can't make 3D shit with my hands worth shit.I figure I'd be a danger to myself if I reloaded.
>>65552416If you can prepare a mixed drink then you can reload. It's arguably easier since there's only one ingredient (gunpowder)
>>65552422So what you're telling me is it's difficult to fuck it up as long as you do adequate research, and fine hand-eye coordination is not necessary.I'll look into it if I reach a point where I'm shooting often enough to justify the initial equipment investment.I appreciate the input.
>>65552364based unIRONically
>>65552195this isn't true and a double stack 2011 is almost the same width as a 2011, so I could get 15+1 of 10mm in the same footprint as a 4 inch .44 mag revolver.
Will OP commit sudoku for his faggotry?
>>65552458>this isn't trueOAL, height, and weight are almost identical, and it's 6 rounds of .44 Mag vs 7+1 of .45 ACP—if you really wanted to press the issue, they make 8×.357 N-frames that are even closer>a double stack 2011 is almost the same width as a 2011Yeah, I bet it is.
>>65552273I'm looking forward to it getting colder in another month and change, ready to change it up from rum and cachaça and start having some bourbon

Not that anyone asked but these are my 22s. I was the CZ75 anon from a couple of threads back. Going to see my FFL over the weekend. I thought I was going to see him Tuesday, but I learned that I was going to be in a different area. Not to be a consoomer, but what else do I need? A Glock 43 or 43x is on my list of things to get, but I know folks here find it awkward. How bad is it for someone like me who has small hands versus a Max-9, Hellcat, et al? I don't need a carry gun at the moment, but home defense is needed since the neighbor's kids ran into the law, so this is why the CZ is number 1.

>>65552516Thanks, I mentioned it above >>65551963. I have shot close to 500 rounds through it, the 1911-22 has about 1000 rounds through it and both are fantastic, especially if you can get a good deal (I got about half price on the 1911-22 too and got a spare mag with it). Picrel also has my father's which he bought maybe 2 weeks ago, he hasn't shot it yet. A word of note is that for those unfamiliar, these are miniaturized to be about 85% the size of a "real" 1911, apart from that, it is the same. If you want to spend money on a plinker that isn't a P17 or TX22, then this is probably what you should get. I nearly got a P17 though.Decided to check out a gun shop yesterday too. It was supposed to have good deals on CZs (they didn't, everything was overpriced, but I digress).>>65552526Welp, sounds like that is what I might get.

>>65552586Only two jams early on during my first outing, which I blame on myself, I think I skimped out of the oil after cleaning the factory oil off. Ever since it has been reliable, with only a couple of misfires (which I believe were ammo related).

>>65552604Holsters are pretty much all the same, regardless of brand. Some are made of better materials, some are a slightly better or worse fit for your gun/body/draw method, some last longer than others, but they all do the job adequately.

>>65552624this, i just save money buying mine no brand from amazon
>>65552590Noted.Reminds me, another guy who wants to get into shooting but is a nogunz (helicopter parents, but they are not anti-gun at all) showed me a gun that he said I should get because it looked cool. It was a Bond Arms derringer of some sort (I forget which one, but the frames are all the same IIRC). No clue on what their products are like, so you folks can advise me since I here 50/50 good and bad. I might get one just for shits and giggles since I agreed to teach him how to shoot, but I am not committed on it. At least he chose the right brand for derringers, if the only alternatives these days are Cobra/Bearman ring of fire hand grenades. Some other ones on my want list is a Tokarev (but the FEG 9x19 one) and the Bauer automatic. Before someone says I'm a hipster faggot for the Tokarev, my mother's side is from the former USSR and my great uncle was a police officer and he carried a Tokarev, I just want one that isn't automatically Slavshit, also I can show it to my Hungarian friend who loves FEG. This isn't all at once and I will pace myself with purchases, naturally, plus I have an order to getting stuff as far as needs vs wants.>>65552615I was skeptical too, but it felt good in the hand so I figured I would try it. They also make .380 if you are so inclined. The best looking grips are the America 250 ones (should cost the same as mine). The Maple grip one has a polymer frame, but it still has a good amount of heft. As far as other models that I remember, there is a government model one one, some Cerakote options (none of them look that good desu), and a silencer ready, if you want a silencer (my father almost bought that version instead of the Maple). If I remember tomorrow, I will post some groups I have gotten from 7 yards with mine. That said I shot up the paper until I had some gaping holes, but you get things nice and tidy.
>>65552480>>65552509Gottem>>65552518Hows the book anon?>>65552519I find 4 o clock strong side to work better for me. My draws were faster that way at the start and I never looked back, and as a bonus for me it's much more comfortable when I carry which means I carry more. My splits are perfectly fine for hitting a grapefruit sized group at 7 yards, so I see no reason to do appendix. That being said a couple of the guys I shoot with much prefer appendix. I don't think there is a best way, only a best way for you.
>>65552499You tried with dummy rounds? Is your mag sitting right?
>>65552679I'll try both appendix and 4 o clock out. Might as well since I have this appendix holster.
>>65552505Have you looked at the PDP-F? It is meant for woman sized hands, another would be a shield.
>>65552679It was good, if you like lovecraft this book is decades before him. I like the way it was structured into different vignettes of people experiencing the play and their madness setting in differently, and also the few lines the author would add proportion to be directly from the play.It was well done, especially for 1895, and it makes sense it was so influential later.
For me, it's pocket carry, because my IQ is 160, it's ultra comfy so it never discourages me from carrying, and it doesn't necessitate me pointing a loaded weapon at my cock, balls and femoral artery like a fucking idiot.
>>65552689>>65552505PDP-F is pretty good. You could also get the pro version. t. small handed deeply closest gay man
>>65552698>new job bans all gunsexpected, sure>new job has me lifting heavy boxes, hauling pallets, reaching and squatting and kneeling downoof, how am i supposed to carry in these conditions in case of a psychopath or targeted attack>my pants pocket starts glowing
>>65552651If I was going to get a 380 1911 I'd get a compact one so its more than a range toy. But 22 for plinking does sound fun.
>>65552706The primary trick is absolutely the right pockets. They need to be roomy, so they're easy to stick your hand into quickly, and they need to be deep enough so the grip isn't visible from behind you. With the right pockets and enough practice, draw speed shouldn't be significantly slower than any other method. In fact, in the situations where your spidey sense goes off ahead of time and you're able to stick your hand in your pocket and grip your firearm before you need to draw it, draw speed will be much faster than any other method. So, really, the main drawback is it necessitates wearing specific clothing. This could be pants with roomy, deep pockets. But, this could also be a vest or jacket with interior pockets that you wear unzipped.
>>65552705>deeply closestHow close are you, anon?
>>65552723fuck me
>>65552689>>65552705I haven't, only because I don't think about Walther too much apart from the PPK, which is what my father shoots most of the time and is the largest caliber he has (he is soon to be 81, and sometimes needs a cane to help him walk, so it is not too retarded as a carry choice). Definitely something to consider, though.>>65552709Let the folks here know if/when you get one and when you shoot it. >>65552850.32 is pretty comfy. More capacity, less recoil.
>>65552885There are situations where you are legally justified in using force to defend yourself/others/property but not justified in using lethal force. Lethal force is only justifiable if you have an imminent actual fear of death or great bodily harm for yourself or others. A gun is lethal force. Example: defending property. You cannot use lethal force to defend mere property, but you CAN use REASONABLE force. You absolutely can punch/tackle/pepper spray someone trying to steal from you. You cannot shoot them in the back. Not even in Texas even though I know some faggot ITT will cite that statute that was ruled unconstitutional.

>>65553016Absolutely, if you're a grown-ass man and somebody bumps into you in an aggressive fashion, you're not going to have a good time in court if you dump a mag in them, BUT the civilian use of force continuum still basically goes straight from harsh language and shoving/OC spray to busting a cap in someone's ass—there's no reasonable expectation to pull out melee weapons like knives or nightsticks in-between

Tennessee v. Garner. "Fleeing felon" laws are unconstitutional.
I think I want to start EDCing a revolver. Any recommendations? I am a fan of how the Chiappa Rhino looks but I heard that since it fires from the bottom cylinder, it's easier to accidentally turn your fingers into sausage.
>>65553281Thats a ruling about police use of force not civilian. Show me a single civilian legal case where that was used
>>65553294Personally I think the best conceal carry revolver on the market is the SP101 Match Champion in .357 Magnum. It conceals like a j-frame frame but shoots like a much bigger revolver. The downside is 5 rounds but I can imagine you'll ever be in a situation where you'll need that 6 boolet
>>65553294the part that sucks the most about CCing revolvers is the cylinder width and how the cylinder sits right at your waistline, so 5-shot guns are going to be the least wretched to carry. aiwb selection is also very limited for non-snubs and leather holsters simply suck ass for draw speed.

My buddy is from Argentina and he was talking to them, apparently the cops impound their cars if they get caught so just play along. That may have changed since I went about a year and a half ago now, and the public buses do run but are very unreliable. Bariloche has a huge german population (wonder why they went there. How strange) so if you do want to eat out the german resturants may be a safe bet. We found most Argentinan food to be bland and tasteless. >>65554343>I definitely need baggier pants and shirts now too.Button downs naturally flare out at the hip and that helps reduce printing, anything with a pattern wether t shirt or button down will also help break up the print. Pic rel is me pulling a button down as tight as i can behind my back to force it to print and it still is basically impossible to tell I'm carrying. As for pants, all you need to do is size up in waistband by 2", same with the carry belt. Carry belts help prevent your pants sagging down with the added weight but also keep the holster close to your body both reducing printing and making it MUCH more comfortable when you sit down. I love my hanks, my buddy loves his kore, people love their blue force alphas. It doesnt matter brand for gun belts, just get what you aethetically like and would want to wear so you actually wear it.>>65554377Wing attachments pull the grip of your pistol towards your waistline when carrying strong side reducing printing as what prints most is the butt of the grip. A lot of people find it also makes it more comfortable to carry but your milage may vary.
>>65554457They don't make those for my caliber
>>65554157These were a lot cooler when they were going for $300
>>65554502And pic rel is showing where the gun was as well as demonstrating that the carry belt is keeping the gun from canting away from my waistline which would print more and reduce comfort.
>>65554504What weirdo hipster cartridge do you use?

>>65554502Oh damn yeah that's sick. Can't tell at all in the photo.
>>65552565I guess I should share some of the prices.>CZ82 $600>Otherwise plain SAA $3500>Norinco Type 54 $400>Bryco something or other $250>Lorcin L380 $280
>>65554488I like 509c anon, he's very passionate about his piece and makes cool photos with it
>>65554558>cz82 for 600isn't that expensive?
>>65554565Those are all ripoffs. Going rate for the Norinco is $200-250 (it is the cheapest Tokarev you can buy in 9x19 prices are about the same as a Zastava M57 usually), the $280 for a fucking Lorcin is an outrage (it is a $60-80 gun, but people will buy them as novelties for how shit they were for $100). The CZ82 is $250-350 depending on condition. There also was a Mossberg 715T for $350, which was a gun that sold new for $300 in 2024 and is just a 702 plinkster with a body shell to make it look like an AR-15. Shitty gun, the 715p (the pistol version) is perhaps the worst I have personally shot. If you want I can tell you guys my thoughts on it, but it is hard to be brief.
>>65554581Oh yeah lorcins and bryco iirc are just those super shitty ring of fire guns. Those are some dogshit prices
>>65554420Anyone got a Ballester Molina?
>>65553947>why?In case I have to defend myself inside my vehicle>keep it in your glove boxThere might not be enough time to reach it which is why I also keep my pistol loaded bedside.
>>65554584Yep, the very worst handguns. Though a Bryco/Jennings is not as bad as their reputation go, still not a gun you want unless you are too poor to even afford a Hi-Point. Then and only then should you consider a Jennings, Bryco or Jimenez (same shit, different day). Not that anyone asked, but in case someone wants a 715P or 715T, the design is by all means retarded. A lot of people will buy it as a training gun since .22lr is an appealing caliber and it might help people get to know what an AR-15 is like. Or at least that is what the average customer may think, but apart from the appearance, they couldn't be further apart. The 715 family, which is a 702 with a body shell as mentioned above is a blowback action versus the rotating bolt of the AR. Additionally, the safety selector, mag release and charging handle are all different.Of course this bring up, is the 715 good on its own? The answer to that is no. Simply put, the 715 is a jam-o-matic, usually Mossberg build tolerances are loose, looser than one should expect which causes constant failures to feed, failures to eject. The mag design means you are stuck to Mossberg's own mags and they are full of clunky ejector pin marks and seams which lead to further headaches. The design causes a lot of heat to not be bled off unlike the 702 which causes the bolt to the bolt to slow down, which also causes short cycling since the paint, carbon and heat produce a thick sludge. Of course this can be resolved by cleaning, but this too is a headache, while the I shot was not mine (thank goodness). The plastic body is held on with 14(!) screws and each and everyone one has to be removed before you can even think about servicing. So really, if you see one, avoid. These sell at ring of fire gun prices for a reason. Bitch to own, bitch to shoot, bitch to service. Just get a 702 if you are dead set on a Mossberg rifle or any other option if you are looking for something like an AR-15, but in .22lr.
>>65553231Brand of holster?
>>65553114it doesn't even know you exist.
Went to my monthly pistol shooting event tonight at my local range and this the breakdown. There were about 17 people there tonight. The following handguns were used:1x USP (me)1x 19111x .22LR AR Pistol with FRT (also 1911 guy)4x SA .38 SPL revolver (cowboy action shooter)1x CZ Shadow 2(Also cowboy guy)1x Springfield EchelonAnd the rest were all GlawksNot a Sig in sight which is strange cause I would say this time last year it was overwhelmingly p365/320 territory
>>65554677Was it an independent ruleset or something? IDPA has already banned the P320 at sanctioned events so that might have something to do with it.
>>65554677>no Bersas>no PSA Daggers>no Berettaswhat is the world coming to T_T
