I'm going to MEPS tomorrow.

What's a good online course that I can spend a few hours brushing up on the ASVAB? I saw the free one in the sticky, but I've come to the opinion that one gets what he pays for.

I got a good score the last time I took the ASVAB, but that was about 11 years ago.

Niche question so not sure if any can answer.
USAA is pissing me off. I have had issues for years, but the entire bank is down right now for a lot of people and I can't use any of my money. I want to switch to NFCU. It asks questions like my rank and offers an Active Duty Checking account. I'm only in DEP so I'm not sure if I would be allowed to open that vs a standard account.

If I enlist for a security clearance roll, how much are they going to drill me for possible distrust in the government? Do I have to be a good little goy slave and fully believe in america?

a question, I want to enlist and I kinda want to end up being part of JSOC during active duty or post contract as a civilian, but not as a infantry or ground combatant, but more like in the office space, filing reports, analyzing intelligence, monitoring the situation live in a operations room or something like that? I want to be part of the team by helping operators by being on the side lines
what's the path to that?
>>
>>65599411
3 letter agency
That's not an effective role for the armed forces to support because they have to pay you a whole lot more than they do an enlisted they have total control of, and a noncombatant casualty is much more liability. If you want to be a civvie in that kind of situation you need to be THE expert in your subject matter.
You can try for a contractor job after serving with like General Dynamics, but you better start planning on what job you want to do after and plan your enlistment around that and work to get TS before you get out.
>>
>>65599411
>>65599496

I just reread what you wrote, if that's the kind of thing you want to do during your service you can just enlist as intelligence of all sorts, that's 35 series in army. You're still army though, you will get to do all the dumb army things with it and you'll always legally be considered a combatant even if you're not in a line unit.

In modern military conflicts it seems to just be special forces and fighter / bomber pilots who see any action.

Is everyone in the military just support roles for these guys?

A bit like how an NFL team has lots of administrative employees, cooks, cleaners, water boys, PTs, janitors etc.

Is that basically what you are if you join but can’t make SF or pilot?

Any other MI nerds here? Im in the marketplace right now and it's not looking great.

How is employment with 3 letter agencies outside the military?
>>
>>65605824
>Im in the marketplace right now and it's not looking great
Be specific. If you're just sad you don't have a bunch of cushy INSCOM openings I don't wanna near it.
>jobs
Go to clearancejobs and usajobs, compare your level of experience and qualifications with job postings, plan backwards. There's something at every experience level but generally 5+ YOE is the sweet spot.
Do you have a specific question?
>>
>>65606088
I'm a branch transfer from the Infantry, so it seems like none of the jobs, not just the INSCOM ones, are interested in me and my (lack of) experience. I dont know when you were last in the market, but it's brutal out here. 250 Captains, 170 jobs, and of those jobs, there are a lot that are non-KD or non-MI

I don't have any specific questions, but im just looking to see if anyone here has gotten out into an alphabet job and would be willing to share their experience
>>
>>65606133
Oh I thought you were enlisted lol. Yeah you guys are fucked. Apparently the big push is to retvrn to warfighting and cut a lot of joint billets and other shit to cram more people in to brigade and below.
Word on the street is that it can take a significant amount of time to get hired at one of the big agencies as a civilian, much faster as a contractor and higher pay but no retirement and some years your contract gets cut outta nowhere.
If you currently work in an intel space you should be networking hard (meaning, just talk to the contractors and civilians, see what their process was like, keep an ear out for openings). If you don't (and it doesn't sound like you do) and you have little experience in intelligence then it might be pretty hard to get hired at an agency, depending on your other qualifications.
Have you had any intel assignments so far or are you currently looking at the marketplace for your first one?
>>
>>65606300
No intel assignments so far. I do have 12 months KD as an infantry company commander in TRADOC, but that wont help me on the outside in intel obviously

I'm in MI CCC rn, and the market will send me *somewhere* for an MI job, but it will probably be shit. At the very least ill have a couple years of experience before I have to decide whether to get out or not
>>
>>65606689
I'd probably wait until I actually had a projection before thinking about getting out. You don't even know what you'll get.
Odds are you won't do actual MI related things until after you do some command time in MI anyway. I work with a fair amount of 35As and a lot of them didn't do any "real" MI stuff until after finishing company command.

You sure seem to know a lot for someone who apparently never spends time here, Robert. You also are presenting a false narrative just like you lie about your Bad Conduct Discharge. Did you also forget about your fictitious fat wife?
>>
>>65609442
>ignores the argument again
>>
>>65609437
92G says essentially this, robert. "I had a bad experience in the army. I don't think it is a good choice because (explanation here)."

You say: "the army is bad because they kicked me out for wanting to go on a killing spree in a foreign country because some other guy did it."
>>
>>65609458
And even then, he never knocked those who picked better career paths. Open contract with the Army is a shitty idea, and the entire purpose of this thread is to help others avoid these bad choices when joining.

If I went to ARG for assistance on building a new upper, what good is someone saying "ARs suck" especially when they have never touched one
>>
>>65609753
Mods literally disagree with you. Somebody went to the IRC and asked them, so that debate has long been settled. If we can talk about military equipment, we can talk about the organization that buys it and hires people to train on and use it.
>>
>>65609807
Looks to me like Robert got his ass handed to him today, as always, based upon the number of his posts deleted. You know, if /meg/ was off-topic, the mods wouldn't put in so much work keeping Robert out. Kinda proves my point, so not sure where you get your idea from about this thread.

By the way, what branch are you in?
>>
>>65609827
You must be confusing me for the guy that was trolling him earlier today. I'm west coast coverage, I think that 37A is east coast.
>>
>>65609720
What is the difference then with someone like 92G saying "I think the ar15 is a bad rifle because-"?

You literally give him a pass to shit talk the army whenever he is around. Like I remember someone posted a link to someone saying the barracks at fort carson in think it was are shit. You attacked them. Then 92G came in and said "yeah, I was in those barracks. They sucked." And you didnt dare say a word?
>>
>>65609480
He almost certainly does.
>goes to concert at fort hood
>said he would attend the exicution if he isn't doing anything that day.
>says there is a restaurant near the base he likes to get food at.
>>
>>65609720
But does say he thinks the military is a bad option. I truly wonder if he would say the same thing had his reclass worked.

>>
>>65610136
If and when he comes around again make a list of shit to ask him.
>>
>>65609919
Because the root problem with Robert is that he has no experience but tries to pretend he does by lying about having a service record. He has been caught lying innumerable times in failed attempts to gain a false sense of credibility, but his complaints about the military are wildly different than those of people who actually served, so why should anyone care about his theoretical hatred? I'll give you a great example

>92G complains about his leadership because they failed to help him develop his career
>Robert complains about military leadership as a whole because he thinks its demeaning to take orders from a black woman

Why should I take the latter seriously?
>>
>>65610679
>92G complains about his leadership because they failed to help him develop his career

So are you saying 92G would have liked the army if-
A. His "leadership" didn't "hold him down."
Or
B. He got a successful reclass.

Which was what pushed him over the edge? In all reality the guy was probably just a shit soldier (assuming he didn't bullshit his story once again) and couldn't take being held to a standard.
>>
>>65611181
Only he could say, but why would he blindly hate the Army, as Robert insists everyone should, if the Army did good for him and treated him right? I know I got what I wanted out of service and I left because it was always my plan to skill up and utilize my capabilities in the private sector. Robert would have you believe that people like me don't exist, that every veteran magically commits suicide when they receive their DD214 or ends up panhandling on the highway (which ironically is usually done by stolen valor faggots wearing uniforms, doing exactly what Robert does when he lies here). 92G, despite his shit time in service, is still doing well and has made the most of it when accounting for the opportunities he missed or turned down.

I know this frustrates Robert tremendously because Hollywood and /pol/ implanted weird false ideas in his smooth brain, but mil life is really not that much different from office life.
>>
>>65611737
If you disrespect the USA military you will have to go through me, you yellow bellied sonof a bitch!
>>
>>65612325
And why should anyone care?
>>
>>65611607
They literally can both be true. What kind of narrative are you trying to push, Robert? Do you think dismantling 92G will unfuck your life?

YOU LOST ROBERT
>>
>>65612506
Why were you waiting all night for me to say something?
>>
>>65612545
Buddy, you have been complaining for MONTHS but act like I'm the problem? Stop bringing him up and I'll stop saying the name that drives you insane. I am literally fucking trolling you with a name. How fucking pathetic and thin-skinned. 4chan is clearly not the site for you.

Who cares? Most US military employees will never see combat, and the future of warfare is drones. The concept of infantry is going to go to the way of the cavalry.

>>65613592
Still mad that the Army kicked you out in 2015 with a Bad Conduct Discharge? I actually wish there was more than one troll, you're too boring and predictable, Robert
>>
>>65611266
>he missed or turned down.
What did he turn down? He always talked about wanting and never being able to do things. (Which doesn't make sense if you were a good soldier.)
>>
>>65613863
>>65614141
Why do you keep accusing me of deleting your comments? The only people who can do this are moderators, but you have been deathly afraid of accusing me of being one. So tell me how I am apparently "persecuting your free speech"

Robert's goal was to get /meg/ permanently banned from /k/. Instead, mods are ACTIVELY policing it and clapping Robert's cheeks every single day. If Robert won, he wouldn't be here, and by he I obviously mean you, you fucking fat NEET

I laugh at you because you only post here when you are angry. You, of course, are ALWAYS angry, which is why you always post here. I have complete control over your emotions and I am laughing because I dominated your mind and soul.

When I say you lost, I am saying it in the latest incarnation of a general you have been trying to shut down since before the pandemic. You are talking to me in a space that would not exist if you won.

Pretend you didn't read what I just wrote.
>>
>>65614452
>Pretend you didn't read what I just wrote.

Good boy. You would have walked away when Biden was in office if I didn't buckbreak you. Keep bumping the thread. You owe me 6 more years.
>>
>>65614476
Turning the manbaby that wanted /meg/ to go away into the one that keeps it bumped, creates new instances, and ensures it always hits post limit might damn well be the funniest thing I have ever psyopped a NEET into doing.

Why are so many posts constantly nuked o:
>>
>>65616311
Keep bumping the general that you want to destroy. I didn't tell you to stop bumping this thread. Keep the info in the OP on page 0 at all times in service of your country, Robert.
>>
>>65616580
I do. Turning a fifth columnist into a military recruiting simp is the most honorable outcome for Robert. It took a little fiddling, but we figured out a way to make a contrarian obedient.
>>
>>65616736
>>65616739
Are you saying I am a 4chan moderator?
>>
>>65616755
So who's the incel mod you are trying to address? Why are you so uncertain of who I am, yet I know exactly who you are?
>>
>>65616768
My win condition is /meg/ existing. What thread are you posting in right now?
>>
>>65616776
>>65616780
>I don't give a shit
>but I will obsessively talk about myself every single day and move the goalpost until getting called out is somehow the true objective, even though my entire plan to destroy /meg/ relied on pretending to be multiple people

Robert, you really do just need to stop with this "other guy" charade, just like you stopped worshipping nazis, war criminals, and Pete hegseth. Every aspect of your trolling regimen has been ruined except for your intense desire to not identify as yourself. Is it just self-hatred?
>>
>>65616795
>I'm not the retard that doxxed himself
You cannot retcon your personal details, just like you cannot retcon your failed military service.

Your strategy to convince me to stop calling you out isn't working and it endlessly upsets you that your pet name dismantles your evil plans to pretend to be multiple people who all conveniently talk and act the same way. Creating a false majority has been your default mode for as long as I have been trolling you, and you have failed to explain why it would matter anyways. So what if two people say "I hate America" instead of one? You can find thousands on /pol/ who say what you say. Why create a fake echo chamber when you know where the real one is?
>>
>>65616813
Its okay, everything I do is deliberate. Last night it was a focus on enraging you. Tonight it is encouraging engagement. Tomorrow, it will be social isolation. I can spell out my entire plan and you will still follow along like the dog you are.

If you read or respond to this post, you are gay.
>>
>>65616823
>>65616826
Who's going to scrub the posts? Me? How would I do that?
>>
I think it's really funny how Robert is incapable of accusing me of being a mod yet claims I have the powers of one. He doesn't even believe his own theories and is so afraid of embarrassing himself on 4chan he remains vague about everything but his hatred for his country.
>>
>Robert can't get rid of /meg/, so his best plan now is to waste all day posting not realizing that it literally takes two clicks to mass-delete all posts from his IP, instead believing he is a drain on moderator resources.
>>
>>65616851
>>65616860
If you won, what are you doing now? You finally achieved victory after completely shifting the goalpost, so what's next? Is /meg/ defeated?
>>
>>65616868
Why do you keep avoiding the question? Is /meg/ defeated? You don't win if /meg/ exists, Robert. The best you can do is slide each and every thread, which requires daily and manual effort on your part. Doing this for years is not normal, not even by troll standards. It is straight up obsession, an obsession that can only be fueled by failure.

In short, YOU LOST ROBERT
>>
Just called my recruiter and told him I changed my mind. I don't think I want to do Army anymore; Air Force seems more my speed.
>>
>>65617506
Based. Army is the last resort branch.
>>
I have an Army ship date for February, but I don’t know how I feel about it. I like the navy culture more and (call me a puss, I know) I don’t really want to shoot anyone. I was actually rejected from the Army initially, but if you know what’s going on in the Army right now, they basically called 90% of us back and accepted us. Weird situation.

I actually started the navy process a while ago but didn’t go far. 23M, 58 OAR, STEM degree, 3.59 GPA. Ended up going with the Army because I’m an idiot, I don’t know.

I picture myself happier in the Navy. I want to go into Information Warfare, and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to try? I’d have to give up my guaranteed Army slot. Can I qualify for immediate select?
