For some reason I didn't like the PX4 fullsize and G-SD, too soft? I don't like how sluggish it feels compared to the compact, I like snappier guns. LTT made a guide rod where you can replace the recoilspring on them, they were using a progressive spring which is why I probably didn't like it but I should have played with increasing the spring power to make it over sprung so it snaps down more.

Why do Africans insist they are first world? Most South Americans I know admit they are thirdies (but then say they are still proud of their country for what it is). Like I get that South Africa has industry and some cool guns, but a lot has changed in the past 20 years.

Which reminds me, how retarded is it to want a Vektor CP1? It's not a bad gun apart from it not being drop safe and a pain to source mags for.

Anyone knows where to find milled or steel triggers for 1911s with international shipping to Europe ? I swear the only options are overpriced $200 original WW1 era vintage triggers. And modern triggers would just look retarded on a Govt model. I love my Colt but the fucking aluminium shoe/pad is loose and staking it further is impossible. Might resort to loctite but not sure how that's gonna do since it needs tighter tolerances to work properly.

Every country in Africa is currently a member of the "non-aligned movement" even though South Africa was a US/Western ally during the Cold War. So yeah at this point it would be fair to call South Africa "third-world" even though their development index is still relatively high.

Optics do not belong on handguns and only got popular because zoomzooms will literally buy anything that tick tock shoves down their eager throats. They make the gun handle like dogshit in every way, they're overcomplicated, they force you to build unnatural habits because just pointing the gun naturally makes it impossible because you have to realign it so you can see the dancing dot, they're bulky, they require corrective lenses just to not see a crazy asterisk, and who the fuck decided that you can't shoot a gun until you staple $400 of intendo garbage to the slide that blocks the sights and makes it top heavy and weird?

FUCK your zoomer vidya accessories I will die on this hill

kek Red dots on handguns is just the latest fad that came over from the compfag side of things into the tactical market. In the 90's it was shit like full-length guide rods and windage adjustible bo-mar sights on 1911s. Then there are the squared off serrated trigger guards that every manufacturer still puts on pistols despite no one seriously using the IPSC index finger forward grip since the 1980's. I mean yes red dots can make you arguably faster on the flat range, but they feel so asinine for CCW because they increase the footprint of the pistol so much that you're pretty much forced into carrying AIWB in a kydex holster. Same with tactical lights. All this stuff did was bring the tech nerds into the gun hobby so they can sperg out about spec sheets every time some new Chinesium mailbox is introduced at Shot Show.

Since a pistol optic isn't an option for me, I'll be using reduced silhouettes to improve my sight picture (target focus) and practice speed shooting. The DOE TQ-16 at five yards is equivalent to an IPSC at 10 because the former is 50% smaller than the latter (pictured).

ZA wasn't really an ally of the West for most of the Cold War. They were shunned because of the Apartheid and had no real diplomatic ties to anywhere else. They did have aligned views though. The only 'ally' ZA had was Rhodesia, and Israel as a tech sharing partner. It is fairly accepted that not only did Israel and South Africa share info on conventional arms but on nuclear as well.

The CZ75 compact is my favorite carry pistol. I've tried a lot of different options of the years and I keep coming back to it. Shoots wonderfully and carries comfortably. The shape of the factory CZ grip is perfect for one handed shooting and lets me rest my thumb like I do on my target .177 air pistol. The only changes I've done to it are a few springs from Wolff and a spring & pin from Cajun Gun Works. Oh and I took a CZ RAMI extended magazine and swapped out the floor plate so I have a flush metal bottom 14 round magazine. I really dislike how the normal compact mags have that plastic floorplate that adds extra length to the gun(especially when at times I have to pocket carry it).

Thanks for reading my blog

The minor A-zone is a decent approximation for a pair of eye sockets but the lack of analogue for a nose and upper lip leaves the area off-center. Not much of an issue if you shoot exclusively at seven yards or with a reddot but otherwise your focus will be driven to the front sight

Don't be the guy who reaches for the salt before tasting the food. Try your gun first before you start fucking with the parts. The only thing that's fairly likely to be out of spec is your extractor tension. Many 1911s (not just cheap ones) come from the factory with their extractor tension set too tight. You should check and adjust that before you start spending money on a bunch of stuff you might not need.

Also, EGW and C&S > Wilson Combat

>>
>>65606594
Might as well ask, have you got a B76?
>>65606591
Held and shot one. Fun, but the build quality is not good and the fit tolerances are loose. It shoots fine for the most part, but I noticed that it jammed more frequently than some of the other guns I shot. I preferred it to a TX22, but I blame that on my small hands and the aggressive palm swell at the grips. I eventually got the Browning 1911-22 which has served me well after ~1200 rounds. Ruger Mark series, Browning Buck Mark, S&W Victory are some other good options for .22lrs semi autos. I was not a fan of the M&P22, and I would be wary of P22s on the used market, some are made by Umarex, Sig Mosquito is made from Zamak, as is the Chiappa 1911-22.

TL;DR: P17 is solid, but you can do better.

ETS really frigged up their P320 mags. Slide locked back every 2-3 rounds. Turns out the mag body does not accommodate the finger on the slide lock so every time it jostles under recoil it bumps the lever up. Slide ALWAYS locks back on the second to last round as well because the shelf on the follower that engages the slide stop is way too tall

If you could make a top 5 list of must-buy 1911s what would be on it?
>Dan Wesson - less spendy than a Wilson or Nighthawk but justasgood (inb4 cope)
>SW1911 - budget with a bit more quality than a Springfield or Ruger
>Colt - got to have one of the classics
>STI - also in the mid/higher end tier without breaking the bank
>wildcard: a beater, solid and reliable even if not pretty (Imbel, Norinco, etc.)
Also just considering upgrading one of mine with a EGW kit and Wilson parts for the rest. Thoughts?
>>
>>65608095
Wilson Combats get below 2k sometimes, Nighthawks below 3k. I've had very bad luck with Dan Wesson but I bought a CCO and a 10mm.

I think what would be better is an actual feature list that you're hunting for instead of 5 guns that are exactly the same but differing brand. Then features that actually make you want to shoot the gun often, like trigger pull, optic cut, good grips/front strap, being 9mm, etc.

another thing of mine is that why have a single stack when you can have a double stack? the thing I wanted to do before I decided I didn't want any turkish guns was to get a turk 2011 and then make different uppers to swap between 9mm and .45 ACP on a double stack frame.

I'd have said 2011 if I wanted a double stack, goobus. 9mm 1911s are like urinating on Browning's grave. I'd go for a 10mm longslide though, and I hear the Wessons are good for that one. Also curious about the Scandium framed Smiths but I'm squeamish about non-steel frames. Basically I was writing my own thoughts on here's what to buy as a poorfag/normie. Although you could argue nuColt is so far from what it once was you could just buy anything.

>its a USP
the USP was never tested to the same extremes as the MK 23, it's the cheaper crappier version. Round count tests never exceeded 20k as far as I could tell. Something that nearly every other pistol can do. The myths of 300k rounds without any maintenances are just myths and have no proof, ie a phone call with a guy who had a phone call with another guy, then posted to HKpro.

It's not something super special that I wouldn't expect there to be a USP with 100k+ rounds on it but I haven't seen one documented. Perhaps the gun is so terrible to shoot that people don't shoot them that much and pick much better guns to shoot. There's an M&P 2.0 with 100k+ rounds with nearly zero maintenance by some competition shooter, Ben Stoeger has a pile of Beretta 92 Brigadiers (Elite II) that have ~100k on each of them. There is a guy with 120k on a Beretta PX4 .45

Also I would not buy a USP used with a threaded barrel, unless you know that it has a USP T recoil spring assembly, the gun can't withstand the backpressure of a suppressor without the USP T assembly and even then some frames cracked. HK approves only one suppressor to be used. I guess a modern super low backpressure flow through can would be fine.

a 9mm 1911 is close to one of the original .38 Colt/Super guns that Browning did before the US Army wanted .45 ACP. A 9mm 1911 is the same slide and barrel as a .38 Super or 10mm so you could shoot super hot ammo.

>2011
it's nearly the same gun as a 1911, like only 4 things are different, the frame is wider, the trigger bow is wider, the grip frame is two piece, and it has a different magazine/magazine release.

>>65608133

30.07 = no open carry (with or without a license)

the whole appeal of 1911 what makes them worth putting up with all the anachronistic sensitivities is the grip, if you're double stacking then just get another samey wonder nine where you don't need to be an expert in "extractor tuning" and playing matchmaker with your magazine brands and that kind of shit just for it to be reliable
>>

I disagree. The 2011 grip is just as good, a little more blocky but it gives me more to hold onto. The trigger is what makes them desirable, some people use grip modules that give it a more CZ75 angle. I also think browning struck gold with the relationship of the slide, hammer, and the springs, they cycle extremely nicely.

>>
>>65608813
nta but I've been shopping for poorfag 1911s for the last month and it seems like you have two choices:

1. tisas and do some break in and maybe swap a part or two and be ready to adjust your extractor and basically just treat it like a used good quality gun in excellent condition but there's likely to be something you need to deal with in the first few hundred roudns or

2. springfield and 95% of the time it will be perfect out of the box because everything is fitted and 5% of the time there will be a real issue because of the tighter tolerances but they have good customer service
>>
>>65608826
All I had to do to make my tisas run perfectly, is clean the factory lube off, and keep it will oiled like any 1911. They have loose tolerances which is good for making a 1911 reliable. Haven’t changed a single part or fucked with the extractor.

You folks are probably sick of me talking about my Browning, but as a small caliber option, it is good and reliable. Aluminum or polymer framed 1911s with various options for grips and hammers. MSRP can stretch over $700, but street price is almost always below that, except for maybe the silencer ready model (need to check price on this one). They make a .22lr and a .380acp, but honestly, no point in getting the .380acp.

It's a cheap gun to shoot, and well made with good fit tolerances all around, plus it has minimal recoil. The slide is a bit stiff at first on both my example and my father's example, but loosens up after ~200 rounds through it. I have about 1200 rounds on mine and my father's has about 150 rounds on his (he got it last month). Aluminum and polymer models are about the same weight, but the polymer has checkering on part of the frame. MSRP starts at $640, but you will probably spend $375-500 street price.

As far as actually shooting the gun and accuracy it is pretty spot on with just the irons. I get 90% of shots in the 9 ring or better on the Dirty Birdy BC27 splatter targets at 7 yards. I have done 10 yards and my group was similar.

As far as downsides, spare mags can be pricey ($35-50 each depending on where you look), but they hold 10 rounds. In an hour with two mags, I shoot 100-150 rounds depending on how I feel. Magazines are easy to load with plastic tabs to help speed up loading, however one of mine snapped slightly. Magazines are sticky out of the box, so they need to be cleaned and proper function ensured. Other than that, these guns are a blast to shoot. If I remember, I will post some pics later.

Unsure. The thing about blind corners is that they're hard to see.

NTA but its both. Using a suppressor adds backpressure as the gas doesn't escape from the barrel nearly as fast without one. The suppressor also adds weight to the very end of the barrel which is bad news few anything but direct blowback handguns thus requiring the Nielsen device for normal slide cycling operation.

Sick burn, anon. I'll remember that when I pay you back.
>>
>>65609407
So say "little muzzle flip" in that case? You clearly know the right words, just use them.

>>65609750
I'll pray for you, sgt.

Not Burt, but ambi controls will be a life safer for competition when they make you shoot weak handed. You might never train with them but they’ll be useful when forced wrong handed

The words spoken were
“That little gun screams” “that gun is fast” “dude that rotating barrel is super flat shooting”

Blessings are indistinguishable from luck, corporal.

The Lord is real, sgt. Don't play games with him, just because you don't believe doesn't mean you need to harden your heart..

Not going to continue this, though I'm sure you would like to.

But that gun is not relevant anymore.

Also, why do you have an 'r' in your filename?
>>
>>65609791
It's relevant to me. I was carrying it in my shoulder holster too. r is for resized.

what the fuck

Really? I was joking before. Carry it if you want, but why in a shoulder holster, my guy? You could get away with a g19 or a g43x, why go with a g26? Already owned it?

I carry it iwb most of the time it was just today since I was driving and wearing a jacket. I got the holster mainly to carry at home without a belt. I have bigger guns and holsters for them this is just what I carry most of the time.

What anon said, and my opinion is that ambi controls are pointless outside a manual safety which physically cannot be reached from the wrong side. Everything else can be done with other fingers or methods with no downside outside a small difference on a timer some of the time and sometimes can be done even better/faster. For example a leftoid can much more easily reach and hit a correct-handed mag release on a 2011 or similar Burt sized grip, or you may believe slingshotting to be superior if you subscribe to the "gross movement" school of thought (I do it most of the time right handed anyway)

Gimmick maybe no, meme yeah absolutely. 98% of ambi guns are bought by normal righties with absolutely no intention or probability of ever using them anywhere but the couch while watching John W6ck 6: It's Still Personal

Hey, Bort. Where do you get those sugar-free drinks? Online or in-store? I can get them for ~$6 for a 12pk on amazon. I'm sure you get them for cheaper in bulk.
>>
>>65609977
Is the Prodigy good now?
I kind of want a 2011, but I find most of them aesthetically displeasing.
>>
>>65609977
As a left handed person it's really just manual safeties that I need on the right side of the gun. It would be sad to carry a 1911 and not be able to flip the manual off with my thumb.
>>
>>65610005
So, just get an ambi-safety and modify it.

It's just now occurring to me that she's not wearing eye protection and I guess there's only foam plugs under the wig. Do we be charitable and excuse the flinching for the additional exposure to sound and gas? In any case, there's some considerable muzzle flip going on there which is usually the result of poor instruction or lack of grip.

How dare you. It's one thing to clown on 4chan residents, It's entirely different to clown on Christianity. I will pray that he relinquishes protection over you so that you may know Christ.

You mean worsen my life so that I desperately turn to Christianity? Welp, have a goodnight!
>>
>>65610049
Yes, exactly. I turned to him for exactly the same reason. I didn't turn my life around because of my atheism. I realized God is charge of all. I have very little say in how events turn out. I place my faith in God. If you don't, that's your problem.
