People start transitioning in hopes to stop their gender dysphoria.
Most people aren't going to be that concerned with if they look bad or good, their number one priority is to not 41% themselves.
For an example: if a trans woman was a really good looking guy before transitioning,then started transitioning and ended up looking like shit in the end, she's probably still happier when she looks like shit than she was when she was really good-looking, because she's not a man anymore
