I wonder what causes being noticeably more uncomfortable as a ftm when called a straight woman vs being called a lesbian.
>>
I am bisexual, this may be relevant
>>
"Lesbian" - you're at least a legitimate queer
"Straight woman" - you're nobody

Interesting, can't discount the possibility, though I don't put much stock in being openly queer irl and am generally stealth and nervous to even say I have a boyfriend (he's also ftm)

Why do people care so much about being "queer"?

being called a lesbian makes me more uncomfortable probably because im a little homophobic

getting clocked as a lesbian or some sort of other queer woman means at least people can see that you're trying to look more masculine. when you get clocked as a straight woman not only do they see you as a woman they can tell that you have no clue how to look or act like a man.
