But I do know that the male dominance hierarchy is based on ability in general and not necessarily centered on competition for women. Men compete by their very nature, and competition for women is just one aspect of that. The core part of the male psyche is the ingroup/outgroup mentality of team building. It's a survival thing. The dominance hierarchy is mutable for that very reason. "Acting like a girl/queer" is just a surface level trigger, but because the dominance hierarchy is situational even a sissyboy could temporarily lead a group if he outskilled everyone else in whatever task was necessary in the moment. Men intuitively organize based off situational need + ability. Men fall in behind whoever seems best to know what they're doing in task oriented environments, and male wisdom is learning to know when to step back versus when to step up. All of this male socialization begins before puberty, so sex cannot be the foundation of it.
