Why do trans men have weird names like Xavier?
>>
>>40961852
My friend’s name is xavier she’s mtf tho and kept her name also no way ftm are this oblivious imma give this guy leeway since he’s 17 but how can he not tell what gives away that he’s trans

‘i’m trying to understand why i don’t pass’
as a pooner im so so so tired of all the other ftms. i dont need them to act as masculine as possible, hell even a bit fem-brained is fine. but there all living in a weird fantasy reality, you know why you don’t pass. there’s so many reasons. you just don’t want to actually change anything.

Xavier is a perfectly fine name, there's about 3 Xaviers in my school who are cis men

lol she's called xavier and she's an ex-man
>>
>>40961852
Transmen are driven by "I'm not like other girls" syndrome.
>>
>>40961852
because their entire conception of maleness comes from YA novels, cw dramas and tumblr ships
>>
It's a pretty common name for zoomer males. When I went to school there was at least 4 different ones... Picrel is the popularity of the name Xavier over the years.

>>
>>40961852
Xavier is pretty normal and better than alot of other options
>>

Honestly the biggest clock for me is the nostril piercing. Dudes can have green hair, they may even have a septum piercing but that’s more rare and leans fem, but ONLY women get the nostril side piercing.
>>
>>40961852
because it rhymes with xe/xir

but otherwise desu it isnt such a weird name imo like i come from a spanish speaking country and to me it kind of sounds like the english pronounced version of "javier". maybe some people think it sounds cool and edgy cuz it has an x in it but i dunno
>>
>>40964304
both are almost as equally fem what are you talking about

id even argue that the septum piercing is more fem than a nostril one because the nostril one is a bit harder to notice if its small but ppl let septum piercings get out of hand

>wears makeup
>has pooner piercings
>has girl hair
>has 10,000 accessories like a girl
>says "im"
>why don't I pass !?!??!?!?
>>

Harder to notice =/= less fem
The nostril piercing is strictly, ubiquitously fem, and being considered much more acceptable for stodgy company helps with that. I have met a significant number of younger church ladies with nostril piercings, it’s subtle and accentuating and thus it’s allowed to proliferate on the condition that it’s only for women. Septum piercings make a bolder statement, they are more confrontational and somewhat punk, the connotation is more like gauges than nostril being more like ear piercings. It’s probably still a bad idea for a trans man trying to stealth, but cis dudes can get away with it a lot more than they can with nostril

Holy kek

Most people are bad at picking their own names, probably because they pick names that people are choosing for their kids today rather than when they were born.
>>
>>40961852
met a trans dude named jasper few months ago he was so fucking hot and im kicking myself over and over for never getting his number
>>
>>40964915
This is true, but if you transition then you have to like your chosen name and cool names are easier to like. I think that a good way to get a unique name that isn’t too clocky is to look to the past, but that’s easier with girl names a lot of which still work well in the present
>>
>>40961852
It's a completely normal name where im from. But only Mexicans are named Xavier or Javier

Ive never seen a white dude named Xavier but i guess it sounds cool. Way better than fucking "Ayden" or "Jayden"
