I think people, when something is deeply painful for them, sometimes find ways to spin it into a sexual proclivity because sex naturally feels good and rewarding for the brain, therefore making what typically causes pain for someone instead cause them pleasure. I think it going away shows that it was just a fucked up coping mechanism. Normal things that I liked, like height difference and stuff, are still there, and that's because those are completely unrelated to my physiology.
