Do you agree that any non-straight sexual orientation stems from psychological trauma and mental and/or physical illness? It can be a strictly physical condition/abnormality as well.

Before anyone jumps at me, I was bi myself my whole life. But overnight, I got a kind of epiphany. What if ANY deviations from the straight orientation are just ways to cope? Cope with being "insufficient", in one way or another?

No it has been linked to exposure to prenatal hormones. You are retarded

heres an actual real answer
>psychological trauma
totally disproven unless you subscribe to an unfalsifiable and unscientific theory like "anyone who doesnt confirm their trauma is repressing their trauma" which is obviously nonsense
>physical illness
its only an illness if it negatively impacts you, more or less in your own assessment. e-coli infection is normal to your microbiome but a disease if it gets into a urethra because it causes discomfort. if it didnt, it would be normal and non-pathological like in the intestines and therefore not an illness. That's obviously on a case by case basis too - for most people gluten is not poisonous, and for most people alcohol intoxication is, but they dont complain about it.

point is, no system is dysfunctional and you do not inherently suffer for being gay. IF you suffer discomfort ABOUT being gay then you may have an illness, but the cause is your perception of gayness not the trait itself.

Mental illness follows the same logic. if your function and wellbeing are not affected then you are well. extending that, there are no mental illnesses that cause homosexuality. in fact, there's no known mechanism to induce homosexuality at all.

so no, that's not consistent with our understanding of health and wellbeing under a biopsychosocial model of disease

Both my boyfriend and I were molested. He cannot even remember being molested. His parents had to tell him. I assume it was completely blocked out of his mind. He likes to be degraded too. I was molested but it was more manipulative than traumatic. We both suffer socially and have extreme trust issues. We are codependent because of this. Take of all that as you will. Purely anecdotal.

Not trying to be insensitive, but tf is trust issues? I just looked that up, and it seems like I have that... but isn't that just normal? Most or even all adults behave that way
