Does anyone remember that one study about empathy and in-group preferences where it was revealed that a significant portion of the leftists polled had so much imaginary empathy for all other things in existence, and so little in-group preference, that they would kill their immediate family to save an inanimate rock? None of them said as much explicitly, but that was how the rankings worked out. The right, given the same poll, pretty consistently demonstrated the usual human preference of protecting family, then friends, then acquaintances, and not really giving a shit about people outside that. Much less non-family animals, plants, etc. My point is the left would absolutely fight for the rights of packs of rabid dogs to eat their own children. And act all proud and better than you for doing so.
