I need a UK tranny to answer me this question about your health system. I have heard from an american friend of mine that in the UK you can get your HRT taken away for bad behaviour, they make you fill out several pieces of paperwork and also you could have to wait months to get a low dose of estrogen, the whole process is made to feel degrading and slow so that people give up sometimes :( It sounds really awful for anons in the UK so i wanted to raise awareness...I think its because british women are below average in looks so they feel more threatened by transgirls than women in other countries would? What do you think?
>>41030441>also you could have to wait months to get a low dose of estrogen, the whole process is made to feel degrading and slow so that people give up sometimesGotta love Socialist systems.
>>41030441It's because contrary to popular understanding American liberals are actually very progressive compared to their European counterparts, and so pushed for informed consentThe British system is the norm, barring the truly insane waiting lists perhaps (getting estrogen in a few months here is an absolute fantasy, we're talking years), the US system is the aberration
>>41030475uk healthcare is extremely capitalist and private. 40% fully privatized
>>41030441The closest GIC to me has repeatedly told me its waitlist has been full since 2019 so unfortunately I don’t know. It sucks here though.>I think its because british women are below average in looks so they feel more threatened by transgirls than women in other countries would?Dumb misogynistic thinking. Majority of transphobia in my experience spawns from hatred of non-conformity, it’s why British transphobes like to deny passing exists because they don’t want to admit trans people can conform with "regular" society. I don’t think all people are insane like this but I live in one of those unfortunate little pockets that’s literal hell for this sort of thinking.
>>41030441this is mostly true of the NHS GIC's, but like almost nobody actually gets care from this. The vast majority are private or diy. There are also some people that managed to find GP's to just prescribe them E (very rarely T due to fearmongering)yes the GIC process is extremely degrading, they ask people about how they masturbate and if you don't turn up to the appointment in a dress you can get turned away
>>41030525>uk healthcare is extremely capitalist and private. 40% fully privatizedIn the UK, most healthcare is publicly funded by the National Health Service (NHS), with the private sector accounting for approximately 10% of elective care delivery and a larger proportion of the self-funded or privately insured health market. As of late 2024/early 2025, about 1 in 8 (12-13%) Britons had private medical insurance, and private healthcare spending reached a record high of £7.59 billion by the end of 2023, driven by both private insurance and out-of-pocket payments.
>>41030441>several pieces of paperworkOh no! anon... are you afraid of office work and filling out forms? I know ADHD can get pretty bad... sometimes the patient doesn't even finish filling it out and thus delays treatment for weeks...
>>41031329look up the private finance initiative. a huge amount of NHS services are privately owned and simply funded through money ringfenced for the NHS. they can even use NHS branding whilst doing so
>>41031689>private finance initiativeThe thing that the great globalist Tony Blair pushed?Approximately 127 NHS hospitals and acute health facilities were built under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) in the UK. This figure is confirmed by various sources like the Centre for Health and the Public Interest and the Nuffield Trust, although older reports and general statistics can vary, for example, another source mentions 160 hospitals and acute health facilities. The Private Finance Initiative was a method for funding public capital projects, such as hospitals, using private sector money to cover the design, build, and maintenance costs. Number of Facilities:The number of hospitals built under PFI is around 127, though some reports indicate slightly higher figures. Funding Model:Private Finance Initiative (PFI) was a system to finance public infrastructure projects by using private money to fund construction and ongoing maintenance. Financial Burden:Although the PFI model enabled the construction of new hospitals, it has been criticized for creating long-term debt burdens on NHS trusts due to high interest rates on private loans. Legacy:While PFI provided new hospitals, many contracts are now at the end of their life cycle, and managing the costs associated with these facilities remains a challenge for the NHS. Wait a minute....Let's revisit something here...Private Finance Initiative (PFI) was a system to finance ***public infrastructure*** projects by using ***private money*** to fund construction and ongoing maintenance. So not public money for private infrastructure?
>>41031763i have no idea what this google ai slop is but the PFI is the mechanism that allows private contractors to provide NHS services at the cost of the taxpayer. this is how the GIC's are funded, as an example.
>>41030441>bad behaviouri guess i've heard instances of people in prison being denied hormones but that's only been once or twice, though i wouldn't put it past our government to mandate that ASB offences make you too dangerous to "masquerade as the opposing sex" or whatever the fuck>paperworkvery extensive, there's also screening interviews and very invasive interviews to actually diagnose - also, there's a documented trend of GPs refusing to refer patients to the gender clinic and citing stuff like personal beliefs, religion, or false requirements to justify itit's also worth noting that informed consent would be legally impossible here iirc, legal precedent basically says that the nhs would only provide hrt & transition support if deemed medically necessary (which can only occur with a gd diagnosis) because if not then it's classified as cosmetic surgery and they have no obligation to provide it at all, but because of that they're obligated to properly dx gd before treatment can startit's a well-known practice to just lie during the interviews and say what they want to hear, considering a cis doctor you've never met before will be the sole arbiter of your transition and can deny you on basically any criteria - if you're a diagnosed sperg for instance you've basically got no chance because they'll almost always write off all symptoms as comorbid with asd>waiting listlast i heard it's about eight years now, especially since tavistock closed there's only one actual clinic that can diagnose gd and prescribe hormones - iirc they had this idea of sexual health clinics also providing gender support a while back but that boils down near-exclusively to talk therapy in practice>degrading and slowthe purpose of a system is what it does, and considering there's a fairly consistent documented trend of people killing themselves while on the list there's a pretty obvious conclusion. like other anons said a vast majority of people even on the list just diy anyway
>>41031798It's a "buy now, pay later" scheme.Socialists let their buddies build stuff using their own money (providing a kick back too) and they will then say "I will sign this legally binding contract that ensures that you are getting money back well past the point I am dead because I don't care".Not just healthcare either.Capita and Serco are probably the biggest names in government contracts, although you would have to go through their child companies to see how deep it actually goes.
>>41030441the nhs is not going to help you in 90% of areasgo private or diy
>>41031689That isn't really a free market though is it because it's just cronyism. You don't get to choose your provider in a meaningful sense.
>>41030632>they ask people about how they masturbate and if you don't turn up to the appointment in a dress you can get turned awayI had this happen in private "care" too, for whatever it's worth.
