no, it was in 2023. The governor of Utah asked their department of health and human services to study youth transition for trans kids (to prove that it was harmful). And in 2025 the study ended and the results came back, that it was beneficial. So they had to dismiss their own study.

Also, I transitioned 20 years ago. It is completely unsurprising to me that the numbers shot up. We were heavily repressed and mostly unknown. We couldn't get insurance half the time and had no job protections. Nobody could afford a bunch of psychiatrist visits for years to jump through the hoops, and surgery out of pocket. Coming out meant immediate homelessness. If you were gay (MTF + lesbian/bi or FTM + gay/bi) you couldn't transition.

Of course the stats changed dramatically. People found out they were trans and came out more and had more access to transition.
