My astrovials will arrive soon and I'm confused about the remainder that stays inside the syringe after injecting. If I'm going to inject 0.18 ml then I actually have to fill the syringe all the way to 0.2 ml because when I inject that amount I end up with .02 milliliters inside the syringe (waste).After 55 weeks that will amount to over 1.1 ml of waste!!!! Thats 11% of the entire fucking vial going to waste. How do I deal with this waste? I don't want there to be any. Can I just pull the plunger a little and add .02 of air inside the syringe and inject it? Theoretically that air is not going to go inside me it's just going to push the leftover into my body. I suppose I will not have to account for the amount that will stay inside the needle itself. That could be the buffer so that the air doesn't go inside me but there's still going to be waste. How do I go about this? I don't want to lose 11% of the vial.Is injecting air not as bad if it's subcutaneous? Please help me.

Yes, a small amount of the fluid is lost with each injection. The only real way to mitigate is to use lower concentration fluid, or do bigger injections less frequently. Some waste is just a part of doing injections.

The dead space is not counted in the markings on the syringe. Look at your picture. If the dead space counts, then the spacing between markings 0-1 and 1-2 would be slightly different. So when you pull back the plunger to the 2ml you actually have 2ml plus medication filling the dead space inside the syringe. But your injection can only give you 2ml. Yes some medication is wasted on dead space which is inevitable. Get low dead space needles to save money. Keep in mind you are still "wasting" less medication than swallowing pills due to drug metabolism.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_pass_effect
imagine using that needle to inject..you'd probably lose most your dose from leakage and even if it all stays in, would that even give proper levels? and for your question.just inject the 0.2ml its still a fat dose if you do it weekly and you can get away with stretching it out to every 10 days at that dose also. especially if you use anti-adrogens too.some needles are better at not wasting vials than others. also vials are so cheap, its not something i worry about.if you use the needles like in your picrel, but with a longer needle, it'll be fine.and still, you definitely should get your levels checked once your a few months in and every few months so you know what youre doing and where you are.

I have a technical question.I bought astrovials in MCT oil which I heard is quite difficult to extract into inject. Which means that injecting will require some pressure. Does this mean that I should be using a 1 ml syringe that is actually Lauer Lok instead of a tip slip? I imagine the pressure of injection might push the needle itself out if it's tip slip? So I played around with my shitty 1 ml insulin syringe and added a 25x7 needle and started checking how much dead space there is. It is as much as 0.06 ml of air which is a pretty ridiculous amount which is going to increase when I add a 30x7 needle. I'll buy a precision syringe and figure it out how to do this.
