How about a shmup? The newest game in a series of fanmade Touhou games just released. It's very easy for the genre, so great for a beginner.

Highly suggest Lobotomy Corporation. It's a masochistically difficult SCP-esque management simulator that's still fun and decently fair. Despite most of the gameplay being ""separate"" from the story segments it also has one of the best stories I've seen in a game and an incredibly cool setting that spawned two sequels
>>
I enjoy playing caves of qud you can go on a quest to find some tranny deer centaur that has absconded with a priceless deer centaur heirloom the tranny deer is accompanied by her deer centaur sisters, i like to freeze the trannies sisters and make them watch while i explode their trannies sibling head using my mutant autistic psychopowers then i blast holes in the trannies sisters, typically with a shotgun but a rifle suffices. I then starve myself for approximately 5 days, and take the trannies corpse back to her village and consume her entire carcass raw infront of everyone so they know just has been delivered.

I wasn't thinking depression though thats correct. I was thinking that a lot of people do not actively do hobbies anymore. If you spend all your time scrolling or doing very high-dopamine things then you mess up your reward processes. I think for many of us shitposting is addictive in that way, its a cheap hit of dopamine. The dopamine pathway has a balance between pain and pleasure. If you use up all your dopamine on cheap stuff, your brain needs a period of time of feeling 'pain' (boredom, restlessness, that nothing is rewarding) as that neurotransmitter replenishes itself.

That is to say, a lot of people I think are always using up every drop of this chemical on cheap things, and so when they go to do things that require long and slower engagement it feels unrewarding and boring and miserable. So they bounce off it and go back to the cheap stuff which feels more rewarding. In reality, you need a period where it feels bad in order for your brain to level this reward system out again, and for things to feel rewarding.

So my advice to OP was to stick with the shitty games, and remind herself that it feeling boring and bad is part of the process of it eventually feeling fun again.

>>
>>41194150
I asked OP about what sort of stuff she wanted to play and she never got back to me

>Why are you talking on a message board
I hate zoomers I hate the internet in 2025. Bring back forum culture
>>
>>41194015
Scrolling isn't high dopamine it's just very easy, scrolling a lot and depression is a sign of systemically low dopamine and learned helplessness.
>>
>>41194216
Scrolling is high dopamine. Dopamine doesn't mean fun, it means rewarding. We feel very rewarded in behaviours in which we sometimes get something good but its not certain when. Scrolling for content is a sort of skinner box, even if the reward itself is not that exciting it is dopamine intense from the uncertainty of it, and how you can do it endlessly. There is nothing that will kill your capacity to enjoy things or focus on tasks more than endlessly scrolling especially if you're prone to attention deficit or depression.
>>
>>41194187
>I asked OP about what sort of stuff she wanted to play and she never got back to me
It's not that deep nigga just recommend games you like and let the OP decide for themselves what they'd like. I've been on 4chan for about 10 years wtf do you mean forum culture you turboautist just cause u can't communicate like a normal human being doesn't mean "le hecking zoomers bad!!!!"
>>
>>41194277
Please never (you) me again.
>>
>>41194291
I mean you're just a socially inept retard I get it. Hint: if OP wanted a specific genre they'd say it themselves
>>
>>41194268
Considering the fact you're rebutting shit I didn't say or imply I believed I don't think I'm the one with attention deficit.

Rusted Moss! It's a metroidvania set in an ecopunk dystopia and the story is about ending humanity because they won't stop discriminating against you for being a minority. Also the gameplay is an amazing mix of Celeste style platforming and twin-stick-touhou that's really addictive and gets hard as fuck in the post game.
>>
>>41194602
But do the choices from Inquisition, Dragon Age 2, Origins, and Awakening still count? I heard it counts towards what you did in Inquisition? Like, if in the first game we date Leilana, and in the second we date Isabela, does that still matter?
>>
>>41189785
Play Katana Zero.
It's super short (I beat the whole thing in like 3 hours), has a nice plot that isn't groundbreaking but it's interesting and will be continued in the future and the gameplay is fucking cool as hell.
Like I said the game is only like 3 hours long but I have about 80 hours of playtime because I find the gameplay so fun I just replay it every now and then.
Play Katana Zero.

Crosscode is great. Singleplayer RPG with roughly the same premise as .hack//sign (You wake up in an MMO with amnesia, you try to escape back to the real world.). The story is really nice, and the graphics and sound have a really nice nostalgic feel to them.

Death Stranding is also great. Package deliveryman in the ghost post apocalypse. Made by Hideo Kojima

Holy shit i was about to suggest Lob Corp, nice to another PM fan here :D
Finished the game for the first time today (didn't get the true ending,, missing 17% of abnos,, one of them being white night :( ) and its so, so peam,,,
Ig that now ill go back to where i stopped in Ruina, also a masterpiece of a game >:3
>>
>>41200762
I'm surprised to see someone else here with the same idea, but definitely not upset. The true ending is nice to get... I spent so long doing memory repositories from day 46. Good news is I don't believe whitenight, apocalypse bird or the button are necessary for 100% dissolution. So hopefully it shouldn't be too painful for you (aside from that stupid baby)

Policenauts is a cool game. It walks the line between visual novel and point and click to pretty good effect. Its written by Kojima so the story does get overly complex at some points and his urge to really info dump on you is present but due to it being a buddy cop detective story where you are constantly asking questions about things and your character being a man out of time you don't feel like you're being info dumped. It feels more like you're naturally learning more things about this world unlike Death Stranding.

The setting is also pretty cool. Most of the story takes place on a O'Neil cylinder AKA the same space colonies as the ones in mobile suit gundam and it all taking place out in space does come into play a lot .

basically I quite like the game and think you should play it.
[spoiler]You can also jiggle girls boobs. Which is a selling point to some of you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXSBta23ZAQ[spoiler]
