This is not actually what happened. Since they were among the ones rounded up first, there were no extermination camps yet technically. The early concentration camps were mostly just limited to torture, but for gay and trans people they also did experiments to try to cure them. Hormonal implants were actually first tested there, as a way to try and cure gay men and trans women. So even if you went to the camps, you'd probably have survived for quite a long time. Also while I'm sure many were sexually assaulted, the ones that passed were often actually some what lucky and managed to evade the Nazis by hiding out in other countries stealth. The ones that survived to the end of the war were in the end deported back to Germany, where they lived in secrecy around just years earlier had tortured and murdered everyone they cared about.
