Growing up is realizing Contra kinda sucks as a video essayist and most of her success didn't come from the quality of her scripts or the integrity of her message but due to the novelty of her being trans and the fact she spends so much money and time on costumes and background props.
Lindsay Ellis got half the production quality, but actually has something to say, and what she says is more nuanced than just going over a powerpoint presentation on five philosophers and then wrapping it up with an aesop about as deep as your average democrat's campaign speech. PT isn’t as nuanced but at the least she's actually trying to teach you philosophy in a more serious manner because you know, she actually studied and finished her degree instead of dropping out and doing horse.
