My girlfriend is currently having FFS with Dr. Keojampa as I type this message. For those of you that have had FFS, or if you've taken care of someone that had it, what are some things you'd recommend to make her recovery go as smoothly as possible? What are some welcome foods, care guidance, or other recommendations? We're in a hotel, so it's not really possible to cook things with an oven/stove. We just have a microwave and fridge/freezer.I made a spreadsheet to try and monitor her meds to make sure she's taking them on time, but I don't know what else I can do until the operation is over and she's back in the hotel room. Also, based on all the example pics Dr. Keojampa showed, she's going to look hot as fuck. Has anyone experienced any issues his work or the follow-ups?
>>41278449don’t know enough specifics but generally swelling takes up to a year to completely diminish so if she isn’t liking how it looks 6 months down the line reassure her it’s a normal part of recovery
>>41278449Just try to keep her comfortable and low stress as possible, when she wakes up she's gonna be SUPER fucked up and need a lot of help. I took care of my wife during her ffs recovery and vice versa. Just make sure she has easy things to eat and is comfy. She will likely pretty much only sleep for a few days at least
>>41278479Yeah she's aware of that. I'll have to remind her if she starts freaking out or something.>>41278486That's helpful. What were some of the easy things you and your wife liked to eat?
>>41278559Onions, it's a meal replacer and basically was the only thing I could eat as I had a lot of jaw work. It's nutritionally complete and doesn't require chewing so she won't have to worry about the mouth stitchesor being hungry
>>41278596Omg onions? Onions lent is what I said wtf
>>41278611>>41278559I guess it won't let me say s o y l e n t
i ate protein shakes and later microwaveable plain rice and grits. I couldn't really chew anything for a long time and lost lots of weight. Also they put some packing deep up my nose so everything tasted metallic and disgusting until they removed that. I loved the throat numbing cough drops that dr gave, that was my favorite thing in the world for the first few weeks, throat very dry and painful hard to speak or breathe, and at night you have to sleep sitting up which makes it even harder to sleep when you can already barely breathe
>>41278659Do you remember what the throat numbing cough drops were called? Those sound helpful
>>41279378Nta but cepacol is sooooo good
>>41278449isnt that the guy who made the meta gear solid games
>>41278479not OP but as someone whos had ffs 5 months ago, is that middle stage between getting it and a year the roughest part? i loved how i looked when i still had some of the swelling, but now it feels like its not really done anything, and i kinda despair over having to get another round done, but don't know if its just my worms.>>41278449for me OP i found that any yoghurts in tubes, or milkshakes were an absolute lifesaver, i wasn't able to chew solids for quite a while (i wasn't able to eat food for a good 3 days afterwards). note that she basically won't be able to speak properly (if shes getting jaw work) so don't try and make any convo that'd take too much thought, just be a helpful figure :)
>>41279422Thank you I'll look for these>>41279529That's helpful as well. I'll try and find some places that have good milkshakes and I'll buy some tube yogurt
