Do HSTS ever go back to being gay? I get that most have severe gender dysphoria and that would never happen, but do they ever just realize they weren't trans or didn't like the effects of medical transition, and go back to being a gay guy without it being forced/pressured upon them to do so?
almost never, I think there's one or two cases but most of it is just social detransition

I think this is partially because FtMs are more likely to troon out for bad reasons (trauma, misogyny, social contagion) than MtFs, whereas MtFs it's usually AGP (among whom detransition is rarer). Also, it's easier to detroon back to a woman because you're seen as a victimized poor wombyn, but if you detroon as a man you're still seen as a creepy predator. So the social incentives are different

Most who detransition, which is 1% or less of 1% of the population, were bullied into detransitioning due to living in a hostile and/or limiting environment.
Very low incentive to detrans, since being a fruity homo isn’t much better of a social position than being trans. If you pass even a little, being perceived as a normal woman is just so much better.
