you guys haven’t heard real hon voice. also, sorry my comments don’t have much substance, i have 0 idea wtf i’m doing with voice training, as should be obvious
https://voca.ro/1mGqILpLXkmu
>>41286975
easy pass, i was expecting way worse based on your reply
>>41283332
again, very passing voice despite the unconfident commentary. feels like it’s a rad quiet and maybe even strained, so maybe you’re insecure because it’s harder to put into practice in real life situations?
>>41282687
really quiet and feels a bit too nasally
>>41282644
but as it turns out
definitely passing
>>41282164
no pass imo. if you’re looking to build a habit of it, i’d say find something you’re doing consistently where you’re alone and spend at least some of that time voice training. a solo car commute works for this, if you live alone you can just do it when you wake up or before you go to sleep. if you live with people but your schedules aren’t aligned, you can do it while they’re asleep if there’s enough space for you to speak at a regular volume without waking them up. you could even just try going for walks and voice training when you’re alone
>>41282138
feels a bit clocky but overall passing
>>41282115
very passing. happy to hear you have ffs booked !! i know how excruciating the wait can be for stuff way less consequential, so i can’t imagine what you’re going through on that front. best of luck!
>>
>>41287862
My problem is not knowing what THINGS I should be doing to train it. Even when I try moving my larynx and my resonators and whatnot, it feels like it's always still my voice, no matter how much I try.
>>
>>41287905
i’m assuming you’re 6975? i feel like it sounds like a girl voice as it is, so you don’t have to worry about not knowing what you’re doing. the things you’re trying are clearly working, to my ears at least
>>
>>41287960
I wish my voice was like that, no, I'm not 6975 T__T
>>
>>41287998
oh, sorry then. like i said, i have no idea what i’m doing either so i can’t give much beyond pass/no pass. i’m looking for the same things as you, i just didn’t want to lazypost
>>
like, like... https://voca.ro/1lCJqZKMFcu5

>>41282687
you sound real quiet but aside from that there is something a little off with your voice. a persistent whispered nasal quality. almost like a fagcent. no offense
>>41283295
you do sound like a guy, but like a guy forcing his voice to be much deeper than normal
>>41283332
>(hon voice alert)
lol. you sound cis.
>>41287862
vocal weight is heavy, not even clocky, reads male. but at least your cadence is decent.

>>41287905
for you and anyone else just starting out, try doing whisper siren/big dog-little dog exercise to raise larynx whenever you have free time for a week or 2 depending on comfort level. then do whispered speaking at the high end of those exercises for another week or 2. then try and transition that whispered speaking into actual speaking without dropping larynx (keep finger on it to track movement, but don't use your hand to hold it in place).
you literally have to train the muscle to stay in that raised position until it's easy, like lifting weights. you must practice regularly enough and it will take time and it will be cringe. whispering at the start instead of speaking helps avoid this cringe. also lets you practice almost anywhere without worry of anyone hearing you. this is just the start. good luck.
>>
>>41288288
am i doing something wrong if i can’t breathe while raising my larynx, let alone speak?
>>
>>41288288
I started to do the big dog/small dog exhalations and my cat instantly ran to me and sat RIGHT IN FRONT of me and kept staring
I felt too self conscious and had to stop
>>

cats are your biggest allies! they'll never judge you or call you slurs, and it still kinda feels like practicing in front of a person. I voice train for my cats all the time

Your voice doesn't pass. Yeah it's slightly higher pitch but your resonance and intonation are both firmly masculine. Resonance and intonation are FAR more important than pitch

its very androgynous but fem leaning. i was wondering which way you were transitioning at the start. think its the cadence and pitch throwing me off, not sure. sounds natural though.

i don't think i'm forcing my pitch that much, but yeah. i get the resonance criticism pretty much every time. i don't really know how to improve it much at this point.

what is there to say? fem voice is real bad. cant stand it. nasal and heavy vocal weight. idk dawg. watch/read some more guides on voice feminization, practice and listen back more cause this aint it chief.

untrained voice is slurred and has a lisp that i also don't enjoy not that that even matters.

most people suck at this starting out, but yeah. you've got a long way to go with this.

I did voice training with a professional voice coach for a year and I made really good progress at first, but it brought up very complicated feelings and I regressed and eventually dropped it. I feel genuinely a bit traumatized by it, has anyone here been through something similar and managed to pick it back up? I want to start again but I'd want to do it on my own this time and I'm worried about failing again and feeling worse
>>
>>41297937
Damn you really almost made it nona. Ill never understand why tranners will fuck themselves over just because voice training is hard
>>
>>41297962
It wasn't that it was hard, I was genuinely kind of a natural. The results I got were beyond what I ever would have thought possible. Then I started worrying about what that would mean for my passing and my life and had all kinds of thoughts and the voice just stopped working and I spent another 6 months fruitlessly trying to force it back. I'm not trying to humblebrag or anything, it was a genuinely terrible experience and I'm worried it'll happen again
>>
I had to drop professional voice lessons because I'm a broke retarded college dropout with no money

I don't voice train because every partner I've ever had prior to this one has yelled at me for training. They said it was annoying and asked me to stop (or yelled at me telling me to).

They were also all trans women, most of whom absolutely voicemogged me.

Trying to voice train makes me immediately start crying, and I've been repressing all my emotions for years now, so I basically never cry.

What do I do?
