My guess is that when they start passing as men they notice how socially isolating and how much it just sucks being a male. Especially if they weren’t dysphoric about being a woman pretrans. They realize it’s not all that. It also depends where you live. More liberal areas and places with more trans/queer people will probably not make them detrans. Detranners are still extremely rare.

I think the type of social pushback FTMs get is more likely to lead to detransition. Early/pre transition trans men are seen as like confused little girls who have been misled by evil and would be gladly and sympathetically welcomed back if they defect, right. Trans women, on the other hand, are seen as perverts for whom desisting/detransitioning is, at least for everyone other than their parents, kind of a neutral act at best and maybe suspect.Even though all of that shit is not right and not positive, it's less scary and easier to give in to detransitioning if it feels like people will meet you with kindness or pity. So though both trans men and trans women are getting punished for going forward, trans men usually desist/detrans because of the stick AND the carrot and trans women just because of the stick.

Lack of support and increased isolation creates resentment and bitterness. Detransing and selling out=insta community is my guessI truly do not believe all those detransitioners aren't trans, I do however think they're shitty, selfish people who should've given up quietly instead of causing issues for everyone
