I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I think the main reason is that I have bpd and body dysmorphia which are both feminine disorders that basically invalidate my maleness, but they’re okay if you’re a woman. Historically bpd has been under diagnosed in men and I think it’s because there is a layer of gendered shame that covers up the femininity of how it wants to express itself.
