Injections are the best method of taking hormones. The fact that pills, sublingual or not, plus spiro, are the default method of taking HRT for trans women is a travesty. Trans men mainly taking shots by default is a good thing, even if some still take gel because they hate shots.

Pure honscience on injectables vs sublingual pills. Estradiol in the blood is estradiol in the blood.Spiro is garbage, though. Get on decapeptyl if you can afford it. More effective and fewer common unpleasant side effects.
Pills being the default is a regional thing.I think pills are uniquely bad because it doesn't bypass the liver. But gels and patches do bypass the liver and are just more inconvenient then injections rather then outright worse.
