>just voice train
>just voice train
>just voice train
>JUST VOICE TRAIN TEEHEE
Everyone here says to voice train and that it’s sooooo easy and something that anyone can do yet when you actually ask about how to do it you either get no replies or linked the SAME FUCKING Youtube video that doesn’t actually show you how to do anything besides humming or videos WHERE YOU PRETEND TO BE A DOG. I feel like the idea that you can change your voice is instilled onto everyone by passoids with naturally feminine sounding voices to toy with and make people feel like they’re going insane
>t. 5 year hrt mtf with an extremely deep voice that has made it so that I can’t interact with or speak to any other mtfs without feeling insanely creepy or like a gigahon
>>
>>41484183
I feel the same way love
I have no idea how to actually go about it...
>>
>>41484183
i hate you for making me want to dig up old recordings of myself so i can give you an example
i literally learned by making weird noises imitating someone everyday until i was able to talk in a way that sounded feminine.
my voice was one of the big things that delayed my transition because i'm retarded and the fact that i did it is something i'm really proud of
no it isn't easy
you sound ridiculous while you do it, but it fucking works
trust the process and be consistent
>>
>>41484183
I mean there's no point in voice training for me because I'll still look like the my chemical romance singer, except now I'll have a mismatched voice for my extremely male body
>>
>>41484183
>>41484220
voice training is fake
it has never helped anyone, every person with a passing voice could either easily make their voice sound passing after a few days of trying at most or they had an already passing voice
every voice training guide is just an ad for their services that cost money that also don't do anything
>>
you have to just spend as much time as you can every day speaking out loud intentionally trying to sound 'more like a girl' until one day you do. that's the painful truth
>>
PEOPLE JUST ACT LIKE THE WORD IS INSTANTLY UNDERSTANDABLE AND THAT THE PROCESS COMES TO YOUR HEAD AFTER READING THE WORD. OHHH JUST MAKE NOISES OHHH JUST SOUND FEMALE. IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE
>>41484278
Thank you for being honest. I feel like there are no actual guides and that there is no process to actually voice train. The whole idea of it sounds fake and disingenuous, like if it was actually possible to turn a deep male voice into that of a woman’s then why don’t men have voice acting roles as women? I feel like most of the people who talk about voice training already had very high pitched gay sounding voices and just worked to remove the gayness from their voice. I don’t think it’s actually possible to change a deep male voice
>>
>>41484183
I went to a speech therapist (over here it's free if you're diagnosed trans, or atleast heavily subsidized, don't remember which) maybe half a dozen times and she literally had nothing to offer besides instructing on some practices to ease the strain on my voice which I've always had.
>>
>>41484183
In a nutshell, it all boils down to compressing the sound coming from your vocal chords using your soft palette then letting it decompress as it exits your mouth
>Learn to move your soft palette up and down on command
imagine holding a mouthful of water in the back of your mouth without swallowing. learn to control that muscle group. The height of your soft palette is what controls how much the sound is compressed as it enters your mouth.
>The middle of your tongue should be low, resting in its normal position
This is where the sound is decompressed. The sound needs to expand a bit or it sounds unnatural. You'll sound like a stereotypical airhead cartoon girl. That's not how women sound. Let it expand
>tip controls the rest of speech
Self explanatory. Sounding out the parts of speech. You already know how to do this. Adjust as necessary to work with the points above
There, now you have things to actually do. Practice with some sort of listening device to hear yourself in real time. Recording playing back is bullshit. Get electronic shooting earmuffs and turn up the volume or use your gamer headphones and find a way to playback your mic
Feel free to ask for clarification
>>
>>41484278
fine. believe what you want. just know i sounded ridiculous for months before i started sounding like a normal woman
>>
listen, OP
you gotta find the one where you emulate talking like the Green Goblin, it works!

I had deep manvoice but voice passes now. You're right, most "tutorials" are just subscriptions to their training program.
I had to figure it out on my own with tidbits of real advice here and there. I wrote up a thing and linked above. It works, just practice. None of this little dog big dog crap.
Think of the different parts of your mouth as dials, play around with the dials. If it doesn't work for you, feel free to complain about how it nothing works. But take the free advice and try it first before complaining
>>
>>41484443
>>The middle of your tongue should be low, resting in its normal position
>This is where the sound is decompressed. The sound needs to expand a bit or it sounds unnatural.
(nta) how is that maknig any sense
you tighten your vocal cords the voice is higher pitched. okay. you can't unhigherpitch it by any means and that's not even what you are talking about so how is this 'decompressing' making sense at all since you are not reversing the process which led to your voice coming out higher pitched
>The middle of your tongue should be low, resting in its normal position
are you saying women don't move their tongues when talking other than the tip? that's nonsense
>>
>>41484537
nta but what they're trying to explain is that the sound of your voice is more than your vocal chords. it's also the shape and size of your larynx as a whole. you can train yourself to use manipulate the muscles around there to change the shape of your larynx and bring your voice up to a more natural non falsetto sounding voice. if you just tighten your vocal chords then your voice gets strained and it sounds off
what they're describing is the more detailed rundown of how to do it, you practice making noises with your mouth/larynx in those weird shapes and over time you can hold those shapes better and speak at the same time

does what i'm saying make sense? am i crazy?
>>
>>41484183
>show you how to do anything besides humming or videos WHERE YOU PRETEND TO BE A DO
you cant actually be this dense. Its about changing your resonance by raising your larynx. An effect that can be demonstrated by doing these exercises. You can literally feel your larynx move up as you do them.
> passoids with naturally feminine sounding voices
yeah you are right passoids are just born afab
>>
>>41484537
Your voice isn't created by your larynx alone. Think of it like speaking into a horn. Your voice comes out different that it goes in.
After it leaves your larynx, the sound needs some post processing to make it sound womanly. The narrow opening made by raising your soft palette compresses the sound.
The middle part of your tongue being LOW, not held down immobilized, but low, makes your mouth space big and allows the sound to expand. Obviously, you use more than the tip to make speech. But try to keep your middle tongue low.
Anymore questions? Can you try going into it with a positive attitude instead of being a pessimist?
>>
>>41484183
Idk anon but have you maybe considered voice training?
>>
>>41484183
>le naturally feminine voice
my voice literally was so deep that even my vfs surgeon pointed out that i have particularly long vocal folds. and yet despite that i was able to train a passing voice. got vfs anyway cause why not. its literally a skill issue, and usually also a not enough practice issue. people keep saying just voice train because thats exactly how it works
>>
>>41484572
Thanks for adding that clarification about the mouth shape working together with the larynx to create the overall sound of your voice. Your explanation nailed exactly what I was trying to get across
>>
>>41484579
i personally don't have a problem with making my voice sound passing in intonation as far as i can tell (...although i guess i maybe do since i can't make a passing voice with a lower pitch, so...idk) which it seems is what you are talking about here
the problem i have it sounds strained and fake in that way so it only sounds ok (or at least i have been told so like once) if i'm whispering and anything above whispering sounds bad
i have tried just talking despite it to 'train' it and it never improves anything
it is probably just biologically impossible since T permanently ruins everything about your voice and if that was not so why aren't there male voice actors playing women ever i thought that was an interesting point someone brought up above
>>
>>41484587
>i got vfs
>but it's a skill issue
Ok
>>
>>41484183
I fucking hate voice training, I've been voice training for a year now and I just sound like a faggot, people on the internet either say that I pass or that I sound androgynous but all of them are liars, I sound like a boy who has a high pitch, I hate voice training
>>
When the tranny sneezes and it's like

oh, shit
that voice is an act
>>
>>41484628
yes. are you stupid? did you read only half of my message? i got vfs AFTER i had already TRAINED A PASSING VOICE despite having a much lower natural voice than 99% of you. are you trying to make me look stupid or yourself? cause everyone else who reads your response can also read my post and see how fucking stupid you look. jesus fucking christ you retards will rather warp reality to convince yourself that your manvoice is out of your control instead of, you know, maybe voice training. keep having fun sounding like a man
>>
>>41484629
it takes time and effort thats just how it is. transitioning in general takes effort if you wanna be succesful.

>>41484642
?? sneezing and coughing is like super easy to train tho?? much easier than speaking.
>>
>>41484689
I bet you were able to "train" your voice to be passing in 1 month or less and then you just go around telling people it's all about effort and practice and hard work and clearly you worked hard for what you have and it's totally not just luck
>>
>>41484617
>why aren't there male voice actors playing women
1. voice actresses would throw a fit about men taking all the roles
2. why would men want to learn a difficult and kinda useless skill (to them) when there's no shortage of actresses to fill those roles?
3. tranny voice actresses exist but it seems most of them also didn't bother voice training enough so maybe that's not helping my point
It is difficult but it can be done. Unfortunately most just don't bother "cuz it's too hard" or "T ruins everything" or "i shouldn't have to perform femininity"
Choice is yours whether you're willing to put in the work or just complain
>>
>>41484747
>Choice is yours whether you're willing to put in the work or just complain
say that to one billion people posting 444 posts per second on relevant reddits saying they have voice trained for 3 years and it got them nowhere
>>
>>41484726
???? you people are actually just so fucking stupid. ITS A SKILL. A S K I L L. how tf can you develop a skill by being lucky? imagine if people told guitar players that "oh i can never learn to play guitar like you because you were just so LUCKY that you learned it super fast". like, thats actually insane? its a SKILL you have to practice, there is no way in hell luck could even theoretically have anything to do with it. like i told you, i had a particularly low voice, so luck was stacked against me. and no it did not take 1 month, more like 2 years. like i said you people will do any mental gymnastics you can imagine instead of P R A C T I C I N G so i have no sympathy for you. keep sounding like a whole ass man, thats literally what youve chosen. peace, bro
>>
>>41484183
the basic theory of voice training is that you want to talk with your larynx raised because that will raise your vocal resonance. the issue is that most people aren't used to consciously controlling the muscles that move their larynx, so you have to kinda learn where they are. there's a couple of methods for learning this and different ones work for different people, but I used the lena method
>put hand on larynx
>swallow, feel how larynx moves up and then down
>try to slow the descent of your larynx after you release your swallow
>use this to get a feel for what muscles are used to control the larynx
>consciously use those muscles to raise your larynx without swallowing
>talk with larynx raised
this will raise your voice's resonance, but it'll sound forced and unnatural at first and you'll only be able to do it for short periods of time. the secret is you gotta use that voice until you get used to using it and those problems will go away, which should take months, so don't get demoralized if you have those issues at first. My advice is to find people (real or internet) that you can have conversations with in your trannyvoice, because that decreases the chance that you'll burn out over the hundreds of hours of practice you'll need.
>>41484278
it took me months to get the hang of it but now I get ma'amed on the phone pretty much every time.
>>
>>41484767
Okay but give the guitarists fingers elephantitus
>>
Play with your voice. The advice you'll find online are instructional techniques to understand it not how to achieve it.
Listen to yourself.
>>
>>41484767
Luck would be just having an (almost) passing voice from the start which obviously happens and is a real thing
>>
>>41484767
>i had a particularly low voice, so luck was stacked against me
Or luck could be just being able to learn it very fast due to just reasons that would be considered luck, i'm sure you wouldn't deny some people are just naturally more able to easily learn some skills than others
>>
>>41484755
Unfortunately it's a skill issue. Practicing it wrong will never make you better at anything. It sucks that most of the advice that's available for free is too basic. It's easy exercises to get you using those muscle groups but then you're kinda on your own to figure out how to make them work together to get your voice sounding right.
It's not beyond your abilities.
I've helped a friend with a deeper voice than mine get a nice voice but it would go away when she stopped doing it. Then she'd give up because it was too much to get back into the correct position.
Once you learn it and practice it enough, the muscle memory develops and you have it forever. But you gotta---
You know what, nevermind. Be a voice hon forever. I don't care about helping you anymore. Fucking pessimists
