Hello voice posters. Instead of the usual resources that ain't nobody use I will give some advice that I think helps everyone.

Practicing alone in your room is helpful but the ultimate passage to a trained voice is being able to actually use it. You'll never "find" your voice if you aren't practicing it in real conversation.
If you're not out irl maybe try chatting on discord VC or something like that.
>>
https://voca.ro/14sbHwsmVIaz

Hope you're all well voice posters
>>
I would also like to build on the advice I mentioned in the OP:
for beginners working on the technical aspects like pitch, resonance etc is often demoralizing because it's weird and confusing.
I recommend for people new to voice training that they focus more on the manner in which they speak. If you're mtf for example listen to how women speak and try to emulate it. Not the pitch but the mannerisms and cadence

Finding your voice is kind of a whole journey, personality is kinda stored in the voice and you are to an extent changing your personality when you train your speaking mannerisms
It's a whole thing, just keep working at it

Are any of the discords that are posted on here any good?
Also, will people just openly say if your voice is clocky? Cus I’m a sperg and I’m not very good at socializing

>trans dudes can't give actual advice

I'm retarded sorry.
>>
>>41487082

Well if it is VERY bad people will say, yes. I have gotten many comments on how I sound strange in some way or another.
>>
>>41487287
What if it's not very bad but still clocky sometimes? I fear that's the case with me, my speech therapist said my voice passes but I don't know if I can even trust her. Especially when I'm less confident when speaking English (as I'm ESL). It's also hard to know if the weirdness people will pick up on for me would be cus I'm trans or because I'm autistic or because I'm ESL or any combination of it all!?

Bump. I'm a butch (cis) lesbian. I have posted my voice here before and I've been told that my voice is pretty androgynous. I'm wondering if I'll get a cool and sexy manlier voice if I start taking T, what do you guys think? I tried not to change anything about my voice. Is voice training even possible for me

KEK you literally sound cis to me, I love your voice. Fucking awesome. I hear you on the feminine flair, I got that comment from an anon here once. What would you say is the most feminine about the way I speak? I definitely can detect the vocal fry at the end of some words and I think I have a tendency to pitch my voice up at the end of some words. Do you also feel like you've got a huge frog in your throat when you speak with a deeper inflection?

Ideally I'd like to sound just like you basically and I'm not sure if that's a realistic goal. Our registers are pretty different but if it's as you say I will definitely keep practicing on removing the feminine inflection

https://voca.ro/1g3UI9u67jp4 Please give me any advice on how I should change my voice, what exercises I need to do etc. or if there’s anything you want me to say to give you a better idea for what I should change.

>>41493935
Your voice sounds hot as usual, lowkey sounds a bit congested today tho
>>41496625
Your voice is fine, if you wanna sound more masc you honestly can probably get there without T if you’re worried about other effects. As for if it would sound hotter, I can’t tell you cause I’m too much of a fag.
>>41491035
Idk why but I think your voice is very entertaining to listen to. It sounds kinda like a cartoon character (mostly just cause it’s a bit nasal) tho which might not be what you want

sound like a woman to me throughout! I would say maybe dont put the extra effort into brightening your voice *all* the time, but it adds some nice variation to your voice, I don't think it would be weird to use when talking to someone in a professional capacity or trying to be sweet or whatever
>>41497251
doin the lords work
>>41496625
I mean T does drop your voice but it also makes you go through like an awkward puberty voice stage, and your voice is already androgynous and hot. I think you could be plenty successful with your goals just voice training but also take T if you want being trans is fun
>>41490760
I think you're talking kinda like captain kirk with all the pauses so it sounds kinda unnatural but thats probably not a problem when you're talking to people normally
>>41487423
the best advice I got on pitch was to really only focus on the pitch you start a sentence at. The rest of it will come up naturally, but its way easier on your voice than constantly trying to strain to keep it up

also maybe a little bit of an insane take but I think the uncanny valley effect is just from the your inflection, especially if people around you don't talk the same way. also see if you could lighten your vocal fry (not less) your voice sounds fine otherwise in my amateur opinion

yay thread is back! meeee

>>41485021
sounding good; I'd place you as a high school student if i had to say
you have a bit of a radio voice in that it sounds a bit performed, in that it seems designed and therefore a bit less natural
if it helps at all, I remember my own masc voice being "open" and "raw," coming not just from the vocal folds but from a sort of "cavern" in your chest

>>41487382
you may be focusing too much on pitch elevation rn
try dropping your voice into a range that's comfier from the point of view of expressive variation, then elevate pitch over time
also, pay attention to how you're passing air through the nose; female speech is nasally resonant; it vibrates the nose noticeably

>>41487394
nice passing voice

>>41487423
I feel like you're so, so close
what you're thinking is low pitch may be just the voice dropping into the chest
they're related but separate; it's possible to have a lower yet head-resonant voice, and vice versa
humming is a great way to feel out where your voice should sit under ideal circumstances; your face will be "buzzy" when you have the resonance mostly in your head

>>41490760
aww I wanted to rate you :( I'm sure it's not nearly as bad as you think, and getting down on yourself isn't helping I'm sure
remember to love yourself, you deserve it

>>41496625
please rate others when posting, it's how the thread sustains itself :)
you'd probably have a fantastic masc voice if you got on T; it's a bit higher than I had before I started fem voice training
you sound a little like some of my deep-voiced middle school students, which tells me you just need to strengthen those sections of your vocal folds

>>41497030
please rate others :)
lovely! you'll strengthen the muscles over time :)

>>41499286
sounds good! slow down and soften consonants; you're like 90% there

>>41499786
hate you so fucking much for that script lmfao but sounds great; would place it as a deeper-voiced woman, mid-30s maybe
>>
>>41504155
>Easily passes, don't have much else to add
thanks <3 it's really hard for me to tell with my own voice

anyway, i think your voice passes too, MAYYBEE the pitch is a little high for your resonance? Not sure, it's hard to tell
>>41505133
>aww I wanted to rate you
sorry i thought that one was far back enough no one would bother lol. im also >>41504155 if you really wanna rate me lol.

nice voice btw, not sure how you'd get clocked other than just being a woman on the internet

>getting down on yourself isn't helping I'm sure
yeah i really need to get better at that. ive always been really bad about not feeling terrible about voice work, when i was younger i had to take speech classes and it made me unwilling to look into mirrors for months because the teacher made me do that to see what i was doing physically when talking, so i think im just wired to cry a lot while working on changing my voice
>>
continuing my ratings, me if you want to rate
https://vocaroo.com/11jTzOY1WPe1

>>41502022
so assuming you're mtf, singing is one of the best ways to improve because female speech is essentially non-musical singing
one of the biggest difference differences is that male speech is almost "puffed," in "segments," whereas female speech is more like a continuous flow
also, work on getting your voice out of your chest; humming can help you figure out what this feels like
also, use your voice in public! it's embarrassing as fuck but you have to!

>>41503087
sounding good; there's a tiny bit of nasality that I think is coming from vocal strain, essentially a "tightening" you're performing on your vocal folds to achieve a certain pitch? hard to say
try to avoid closing your throat and look at yourself in a mirror while you speak; if you scrunch your forehead or nose at all while you speak, you may be constricting the sinuses and causing a shallow nasality as opposed to the whole-face resonance you want

>>41504155
one of the key features of your voice right now is "clipped" speech, that is slightly stoccato, "chopped" sounds, almost like there's a jagged pause between the words
fem speech generally "stretches;" it expands and flows, which is why there's also a physical softening of vowels in terms of how they're pronounced
here's an example where I move from one to the other and back again to illustrate
https://voca.ro/1iXhZIEifuT4

sounds great; sounds a bit like a New Yorker
