how do you get over the horrible stage of growing out ur hair. god it looks fucking horrible but i NEED to grow out my sides properly. should i get a trim or smth?? honestly i dont think i went to a hair salon in 2 years, my memory is pretty foggy.

you just wait for ur hair to grow out

Style it as it grows.
It'll involve trimming yeah, but ultimately you trade a little extra growing time for not looking like a joke. If you go to a salon, don't go to a mall or a supercuts, they'll massacre it. Go to someone who understands you're trying to grow it out.

yeah i guess, can they do anything to fix a botched attempt of cutting ur own bangs? i chopped my shit up pretty bad. like HORRIBLY bad. there might be no way to trim it in a way that matters, but i guess fixing the rest of my hair is better than not fixing any hair at all

You have to tough it through. The best thing to do at this stage is to care for it as much as you can, since the hair that is growing out will eventually be your ends. So take care of them!

it's a problem that solves itself, literally just don't cut it and wait for it to grow
do you even have a brain?

i guess its just that my hair is like, the cornerstone of my transition, if that makes sense

if my hair looks bad, that makes me feel horrible and vice versa, like, crippling levels of dysphoria

sorry, i just get rep levels of cognitive dissonance when it comes to going to a salon and stuff

having long hair is just unlimited weird middle stages for the first 3 years. gl.

if possible, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get it trimmed every 6-8 months or so. just to remove split ends which will make your hair healthier. of course this is predicated on having access to a stylist that knows what they’re doing and what you want, as you don’t need to remove more than half an inch. what styles do you wear it in now?
>>
>>41489395
as long as ur hair doesn’t get split ends ur ok
>>
I used to shave my hair (legitimately fits me very well lol ik only tranny ever for whom it's the case) BUT FUCK when I was growing it back out there was a period of time where I looked disgusting like I hadn't looked that odd in years and that destroyed my self esteem and passing too I feel lol which was weird as an otherwise passoid for years
Anyway yeah just wait lmao

I have bangs and last time I was at a hair dresser in august, my hair is in my eyes all of the time and I look so fucking stupid
>>

i had this overgrown mullet, but i cut my bangs so it looks like a very awkward shag rn (plan is to get a full shag)

it started to get very mushroomy and frizzy since its been a while since anyone ever touched it, so i do think getting a trim and full professional hair care can fix my problems, i just have a hard time going to the salon

>>41490515
yeah its soul crushing when ur hair just. looks offputting. shit unironically makes me not leave the house most of the time. even growing up, i tended to avoid going to the salon cuz i had panic attacks abt acknowledging how bad it looked (dysphoria is a bitch, and i repped for a long time)
