spooky general for intersex people! Previous bread>>41444350~•PASTE BIN•~>what is INTERGEN?INTERGEN is a general for intersex people to talk to each other about their experiences or just to hang out>what is an intersex person?Intersex people are those born with any of several sex characteristics, including chromosome patterns, gonads, or genitals that do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies>am I intersex? We are not doctors, please seek medical advice, but dont be afraid to ask questions here to maybe understand things better >are trans people intersex?Trans people are not inherently intersex, however an intersex person can transition if they want>how is this /lgbt/?We share similar experiences of discrimination and social prejudice based on sex and gender norms, even though intersex is a variation of sex characteristics, not a gender identity or sexual orientation itself—————————>QOTThow do you like to spend spooky season?
>QOTT>how do you like to spend spooky season?I like to hand out candy to kids in the neighborhood, watch movies and go for a walk to see the decorations :3 this year I’m gonna catch a late night viewing of the rocky horror picture show on Halloween this year
Transsexuals are intersex

Transsexuals are neurologically intersex.

>>41499197I am sympathetic to the core of this argument and don't care to argue about the use of words. But consider anchoring yourself to intersex people won't actually help you. Claims like this should be explored to the extent that deeper knowledge might actually help trans people, but it's unconvincing to everyone else for the same reason the chromosome argument is: I can't see inside your brain to figure out if you're a Real Wombyn(TM) or not.>>41497971If it makes you feel any better I had a major depressive episode and flunked out hardcore.

>>41499197you don't have a DSDand you would not have been categorized a hermaphrodite before the medical system changed those labels to DSD ones in 2006.you have dysphoria. not a condition of abnormal sex organ development. the brain is not a sex organ. feelings are not sex organs. gender identity is not a sex organ.
Isolated hypospadias (with normal male karyotype, normal hormone levels, and descended testes) is usually not classified as a DSD. No matter what brain rot Powers tries to peddle to feed his reddit e-celebrity savior of trans people image while ignorant about intersex language, history, and people. Hypospadias is not listed under the DSD classification in the ICD-11; it is listed as an unambiguously male condition and not included under the DSD category.
>>41497652>>41497701>>41497898nta, but i also think i hold this belief?also answering the question so i'm not just a troll, me and my partner are sewing our first costumes this year (and getting very frustrated in the process)anyway, why are people on hrt not considered intersex? to my understanding, you are quite literally changing your body's sex organs into something that does not fit into the usual binary of p vs valso, bonus question for people itt who are openly intersex, have you found it harder to find a job/ do you find it easier to find a job if you conceal your intersexness? as a very visible, unemployed trans person, this has been on my mind a lot recently
>>41499451>why are people who dye their hair and get freckle tattoos not considered gingers? > you are quite literally changing your body's sex organsthere is no technology on earth that gives transgender people sex organs of the opposite sex. an atrophied uterus is still a uterus. an antrophied seminal vesicle is still a seminal vesicle. there is no scenario where you turn that a prostate into a uterus. trans people's sex does not change to the opposite; at best they make neuters of themselves, but never acquire opposite sex organs. >have you found it harder to find a job/ do you find it easier to find a job if you conceal your intersexness? I have to alter myself to pass as one sex or the other or else I look weird and this has a negative impact on societal success, normie jobs, etc. As an adult paid for procedures trans people normally get so I would blend in better.
>>41499335I think the most I've seen here was around 12". But I live in a failed state so 6 is enough to grind everything to a halt for a week :(
>>41499476>at best they make neuters of themselves, but never acquire opposite sex organsso hypothetically, if the magic drug came out tomorrow that would do essentially what many frog species do and actually turn my innie into an outie, then trans people could potentially be intersex? til then, i think i get what you mean with the ginger analogy>this has a negative impact on societal success, normie jobs, etcthis is what i was afraid of. i never struggled to find a job when i was young and exploitable, but now i'm 25 and it feels like anywhere i apply is a lot more scrutinizing of how conformative/obsequious i am.i think i'm just gonna have to get in the robot shinji, and stop looking so nonbiney in public. i guess if there are intersex people who can do it everyday, i can too. godspeed
>>41499673No, even if you suddenly gained the ability to take drugs to grow those organs, this would not be intersex.Intersex people have Innate Variations in Sex Characteristics (IVSC). The "innate" part is important. You can dye your hair red and look like a ginger, but you won't have the other physiological qualities of a ginger; you won't take on the unique metabolism of drugs or health issues or other things like that that are more than just the "appearance" of a ginger person. >i think i'm just gonna have to get in the robot shinji, and stop looking so nonbiney in public.I starting saying I was some sort of nonbinary before that word was popularized because of my body. It is not really a livable existence; there isn't infrastructure, documentation, language, and social norms for it. It has trapped me because I don't want to lie, I don't want to be one or the other or something I am not, but there is no way for me to really exist in a normal life or even significant parts of society unless I pick one and conform. It just like... doesn't work. It's not feasible with the way society and structure is set up unless you live in a queer isolation tank/San Francisco or something. It had a really big impact on my overall quality of life; I'm really happy to see some places adopting like all gender bathrooms and the nonbinary and they/them stuff getting popularized, but it's still nowhere near a livable existence in most places.
hot take probably but i think we should allow intersex people to not be grouped with trans people. I mean I get it, feeling fake and agp and mentally ill for having gender dysphoria is bad and its not an experience one would want to have, but our issues are quite different. Its not like existence of intersex people endangeres trans people in any way.I do wish I was not just a stupid fully male bodied tranny andhad at least some difference from all moids.
>>41499451I'm none of those anons but let me try.Trans people go on HRT and get surgeries and such by choice, to manage dysphoria or to otherwise become more comfortable in their own bodies.Intersex people are born in some medically significant sense outside of the binary. Sometimes what should be gender-affirming care and what would be gender-affirming care if we'd chosen it for ourselves is shoved down our throats without consent, with little or no consideration for our gender identities. This is one reason I think the distinction is important. It's not to separate myself from trans people. I live as the opposite my ASAB. There is no meaningful legal distinction between me and any other trans person, nor a moral distinction IMO.The social distinction for me at least is I never passed very well as my ASAB so I transitioned from non-passing to passing as the opposite sex. Very blursed desu in that I'm super happy it worked out in the end but I'll carry trauma for the rest of my life and very few people will ever be able to truly relate.>>41499822I think our rights struggles are profoundly overlapping and inseparable, and I hate the animosity I see in these threads.
>>41499643God I wish that was enough to stop everything lol >>41499451>also answering the question so i'm not just a troll, me and my partner are sewing our first costumes this year (and getting very frustrated in the process)Very cute what you two going as?>bonus question for people itt who are openly intersex, have you found it harder to find a job/ do you find it easier to find a job if you conceal your intersexness? as a very visible, unemployed trans person, this has been on my mind a lot recentlyI would hide until time itself dies; but my boss at work knows and I’m pretty sure my weekend boss does too, we’ve discussed some of my health issues for HR meetings Also you’re not a troll you are contributing so thank you :}
>>41499822>>41499822>I do wish I was not just a stupid fully male bodied tranny andhad at least some difference from all moids.I think the idea of being different is alluring in a sense, but I’m sure as you’ve experienced, being different from others is … well it’s awful… imo it I think the overlap is here when it comes to bodily autonomy , like I didn’t want it to messed up with as a child feeling wrong as drs poked and prodded me, fondling me saying my body was wrong or they could fix it. It makes me queasy thinking back despite it being almost 3 decades ago. And who knows maybe there is a neurological intersex condition that causes transsexualism, I don’t know since I’m not an endocrinologist or a neurologist.
>>41500368>God I wish that was enough to stop everything lolIt's nice for a couple days but it kinda gets old more than a week in. Eventually you start running low on food and TP and you start making friends with inanimate objects.
>>41499973>I think our rights struggles are profoundly overlapping and inseparable, how exactly?you might as well throw diabetes in too
>>41500997No… of course not… like who talks to their plushies instead of people irl… I mean that be ridiculous, or invite them to dinner and put them at the table and tuck them in at night, it’s not because of crippling loneliness not at all
>>41501145We have a shared interest in bodily autonomy. At least a subset of us have a shared interest in being able to update identity documents. At least a subset of us have a shared interest in not being forced out of restrooms/locker rooms or into inappropriate prisons because muh gametes or whatever.I might throw diabetes in too if they decide diabetic women belong in men's prisons.
Bumpin yo
why does it seem like almost all intersex people are feminine? ive never seen a masculine intersex person. is it to do with some xx xy biology stuff or what
>>41503806I’ve met a few masculine intersex people, he did however transition and I hope he’s doing well>like I assumed he was male to begin with desu
