MX Linux is a good user friendly place to start
you'll have to get used to some odd names for basic features and apps (thunar instead of file explorer, etc)
for gaming, your options are limited but not non-existent. Wine, winboat, and steam with proton will help. Many games on gog have linux versions as well

it just werks (tm), daily driver for people who don't want no trouble
download the ISO, flash it to a USB with Rufus (if running Windows) or balenaEtcher (if running Loonix), boot pc up, spam whatever key it is to open the boot menu, select the USB u just flashed
get used to using the CLI (way more efficient thn GUI) & not being able to play anything but singleplayer games
