Anybody ever think of joining community programs or groups ?
>>41551765trans people are more often than not intersex
>>41556461really?
>>41556461the evidence is insufficient while there are intersex people who do transition it is an exception rather than the rule, but that’s okay :)
>>41556461"More often than not" is the stretch to end all stretches.Disproportionately likely? I'd buy that. But even anywhere near a majority of trans people also being intersex would be huge news. The closest I can get to justifying that claim, and to be clear it's still not in the same zip code, is that Harry Benjamin noted around 40% of his patients were notably undervirilized. He never found a genetic explanation for any of them, though modern genetic testing isn't remotely perfect and 1960s genetic testing was worse.
I hate when people say intersex trannies are more privileged than normal trannies because my doctor literally denied me HRT for being intersex while the people I know who go to the same place got it much easier
>>41553955Yeaaaaaah I hear that.>>41558038Sorry :( I'm not even sure what their misconception is there.
>>41558038I’m not surprised I was told something similar by my pcp, like I produce so little testosterone there’s no reason for me to take estrogen :| luckily I don’t see him for that reason
>>41551765You cannot have an honest thread regarding this subject because it will be assaulted from both sides by hons and pooners poisoning the well out of envy
>>41551765Intersex is just as stupid as trans
>>41560405We’re trying to make this a decent thread and like ngl it sucks to deal with people coming in baiting and spending the thread arguing :/ a lot of us just want a small place to relate to others who have a similar experience and maybe have people open up to help others
>>41560656If you base it on reddit, and the intersex portions of various trans forums of the early 2000's it will also get nuked from within. There is a push to expand out so insanely far as to what is considered intersex that the term becomes meaningless. Honestly the push for intersex awareness and including every DSD that may or may not result in abnormal sex traits is probably doing as much harm. Can we just go back to being false hermaphrodites?
>>41560685We could but I dunno if that would solve the issue :/ like we’re always going to have this get shitted up, and like the more we gatekeep the more people are going to try to find a way to make a narrative fit them >it feels like there is no winning or fixing this
>>41560405In real life anyway the worst I've gotten from trans people is a few odd comments. But to be fair I am basically living proof God has a sense of humor. Like take the worst transphobe's caricature of trans women and then dial almost everything they exaggerate all the way back the other way and you get me. So I kinda get it I guess.>>41560836Yeah I have no idea how you gatekeep a thread on an anonymous image board anyway.
>>41560909I don’t think we could even if we wanted to :/
>>41555492In the USA, Intersex ones basically don't exist in 99% of locations. There's a handful in some big cities and not much else. The ones I have found online, even those run by "legitimate organizations" are also dead, full of larpers, or otherwise just really leave a lot to be desired. Unless you're in Australia. There's a lot of good stuff in Australia for intersex people right now.
>>41556461Funny how every trans person that's every neurotically tried to tell me their every reason they're "probably intersex", sent me dick pics, sent me their pre-HRT hormone levels, etc. in pursuit of a Real Intersex Person Validating them has turned out to not be intersex. They all desperately think they "probably are" though. Almost like dysphoria and wanting to be something you aren't is the core of their whole issue.
>>41560915Even if it was a forum you can't. You are not going to be able to validate people. It would only take one admin that decides to allow XYZ against medical convention and then the flood gates open. All the groups seem to work for a short period of time well, then they slowly descend into the same chaos under openness and inclusion. I am in an ais FB group that seems to be holding up okay though it mostly revolves around medical issues, and then self image issues of not being masculine or feminine enough.>>41560942They are so dead that they will even reach out to you on reddit and FB, at least cedar sinai does trying to get people to engage and be representatives for awareness.
>>41558038Yeah trans people love to forget the decades of intersex history where our being intersex was grounds to deny us transition.
>>41560685>redditThe majority of r/intersex mods are self-diagnosed "nonbinary" females and a token MTF or two. Most of their posters, including the ones labelled 1% top posters, are also usually insane larpers that fabricate stories about "genital mutilation" that never happened. If you check their post histories, shit doesn't add up across the stories they tell and anatomy they have. The mods do nothing to curb larping lying (and are likely larping/lying themselves), but do ban people for stuff like being a mom of an intersex baby who they use the term DSD for, as their doctors do, asking about what intersex people would think is the right age or way to tell people in school. Mods get mad at the use of the word DSD, find a reason to delete the post, mom asks why, gets banned. Can't say the word hermaphrodite there either or you will get banned/post auto removed. Even though many intersex people who are older used and still use that term as its what they grew up with, and its important/necessary to use it sometimes when discussing intersex history. Bunch of deceptive, millennial/zoomer tenderqueer Trans/Gender Identity focused people run r/intersex. It reeks of tumblr and is a useless sub for actual intersex people.
>>41560909I heavily gatekeep the intersex discord server I run because this is such an issue, and it's difficult enough when people have names and post histories and have to fill out a questionnaire before joining. I don't think it's possible in a 4chan thread.
>>41560965I am the only admin in my community for this reason. It has been running almost 2 years and I have not found anyone else I would like to give any authority. I run and have run other communities in the past including forums in the 2000s/2010s. I have found I do not like most people as staff, even if I like them as friends, and am very picky about who I give staff in communities. If I don't absolutely need more staff than myself, I don't make any.
>>41561048Admittedly I'm not a medical expert so maybe I'm missing something but yesterday on there I read some comment about someone "flowering" (their vagina opening up from where it was surgically closed like a half century ago) and my first thought was "Do you have scurvy?"Like I dunno I don't wanna be mean but also if my body starts spontaneously gaining new holes I think I'm seeking immediate medical attention. That's gotta be an urgent care trip at least.
>>41561216Chris Chan vagina psychosis moment https://sonichu.com/cwcki/Self-inflicted_taint_wound
>>41561048What? And I’m sorry for asking a stupid question, I don’t use Reddit, but like so they’re against anything medical and certain words are too triggering for them? Like I said I’m sorry if this sounds dumb, I’m just trying to understand, but if I went there and said “I spent years as a child being seen by a urologist because my penis was under developed. they wanted me to undergo various procedures to make me look more normal and have more than an inch surrounded by fatty tissue”
>>41561236If you go onto tumblr and search intersex, all the self-diagnosed snowflake afabs will regurgitate the notion that "DSD is a slur". Because they have no medical legitimacy and have never seen a doctor, they really like to cling to this notion and heavily demonize anything medical to enable their larp better. r/intersex culturally is basically trickle down tumblr. Most queer spaces are at this point, honestly.
>>41561048One of the admins changes their story every time they post...and they post a crap ton...like their sole job is monitoring Reddit 24/7. I highly suspect they are just making things up and purposefully widening the net. Before I deleted my Reddit I was banned just due to using the vernacular that is in my medical records. My posts were deleted, and when I asked about it I was banned. How dare I use hermaphrodite...you know the term that was commonly used until 2010 or so. I'm almost 40, I'll use the word of I fucking want.
>>41561283I got banned for saying I didn't like shi/hir pronouns because they were invented by some furry guy for his fetish catgirl centaur characters to have boobs, horse dick, and vagina. He called the species "Chakats", said they were hermaphroditic, and made up shi/hir pronouns for them. I said I grew up online in the time furries had adopted hermaphrodite/herm as an option in a lot of their spaces because they tend to be hypersexual, and that I was always uncomfortable with shi/hir because they were usually just like huge titted, huge dicked, futa characters that were still "woman coded" and very obviously just some gooner guy's sex fantasy, and it made me uncomfortable growing up to see herm/hermaphrodite associated, and the shi/hir pronouns were coined solely in that light, so I don't like them even if intersex people try to "reclaim" them now because they really were just porn words from the start. That got me banned lol.
>>41561327This was also ON A POST asking about them. I did not make the post. I replied to a post asking for peoples opinions on shi/hir pronouns.
https://www.reddit.com/user/A_Miss_Amiss/this one larps hard and is so insane but exists in most online intersex spaces including r/intersex where they post constantlyin like a poly lesbian relationship with someone else who has kidslarps as a medical intersex advocate when they are just some nursing school student mediocre woman stereotype of a sociopath nurse who lies to their coworkers to extend the intersex larp/control further into IRLthey swear they're "probably" an XX/XY chimera based on the fact that during surgery to get their tubes tied (you know, so they dont get pregnant from their fucking ovaries and uterus) their fallopian tubes were a little smaller than usual and they had some internal scarring that could be from a billion things but they insisted this meant they had been born with testes in addition to their ovaries and that they had been "castrated" despite their mom saying that didnt happen. their mom is obviously evil, is the answer to that one. how does she know her mom is lying? well, her mom watched a documentary on intersex people once, and since her mom is SO selfish, she'd never care about queer people unless it was due to her guilt of having castrated Ms. Amiss' third and fourth balls or whatever.

>>41561228I didn't know who Chris Chan was until the arrest and I feel like my life has been better for it.>>41561480I want to believe in people's general good nature but sometimes they make it really hard. That said my own experiences with the medical system have ranged from neglect to full-on traumatizing and I know I'm not great at advocating for myself.Like I had an urgent care experience of all things where I should've just left after the doctor's first sentence but I stuck around and let myself have a new formative experience instead. But I get my no evidence misdiagnoses just fine from legitimate doctors. I don't need to come up with them myself. That urgent care doctor managed to misdiagnose me with herpes after I was sexually assaulted, making it very clear the entire time she didn't believe a word I said. Even after I proved the first thing she was incredulous about.
>>41560427its a real genetic condition like down syndrome dude
>>41561327>>41561354Like I’m totally fine with furries, I get the idea, w/e but was this guy just so retardedly gooned-brained to just think this is the place to post this? I’ve read this a few times and I know I have a learning disability but I’m still just trying to understand
>>41562874This is a person who is phenotypically female, has normal female external genitals, a full internal female reproductive system, and no male secondary sex traits nor any male internal organs. In spite of this, they believe the secretly had a second set of gonads that were testes. They repeatedly like to say they were "castrated" as a baby. They are very fixated on using the word castrated for some reason.Their mom has told them this did not happen, but they insist their mom is lying to them. The bit about the documentary wasn't an exaggeration either. This is a direct quote:>my anti-nonbinary mother watched a documentary on this condition when that is the last sort of thing she'd ever do unless it impacts her in some way personallyIt's just some sociopathic afab who wants to feel more genderspecial/valid than being nonbinary allows for, so has gone full psychosis into convincing herself and everyone around her that she is intersex.Oh yeah also she married some woman with kids, after having a girlfriend for a bunch of years. So they're in some poly thing now, where she's married and a mom but not her kids, and surprise, two of the kids are now "intersex".
>>41563066It’s because castrated sounds definitive, it’s a term that denotes how brutal they suffered and garners sympathy

Except maybe from Dr. Powers, who I'm also willing to hear out if he publishes evidence to support that claim.I think Powers means well and he wants to help the trans community but I also think he's a little crazy, and that he's currently hyperfixated on one unifying theory of everything to explain trans people and there probably isn't just one.I'm old enough to remember the search for the "gay gene." It's a fool's errand.>Doctors are ontologically evil and unqualified in dealing with trans peopleYou're not wrong but I suspect you're preaching to the choir here.>>41565125NTA but I'm not invested enough in language policing to care desu.

>>41560685high T non-pcos non-cah anon from one of the earlier threads here. while I haven't found other communities where I saw my own experiences with puberty and endos reflected (not growing up masculine or feminine enough describes it well), I find myself hesitant to adopt any labels because of the gap between what I have versus what someone like you with ais, for instance, has. I'm honestly not sure if some intersex groups including people like me has been the right move or not, and I wonder if placing purely hormonal disorders in a seperate box might have been better for both groups, even if can't say I feel much kinship with PCOS lite girls who grew up looking like girls. (they have issues too, not trying to diminish that, but those issues rarely involve being groped by other women in the locker room or at the doctors office, or not knowing which sports you're allowed to play)I don't know what the rest of you guys feel about this, but I'm kind of curious. I mostly go here because I don't know where else to go.
>>41570905I remarked recently that I felt it was helpful to sometimes class it as primary intersex and secondary intersex. Primary intersex having to do with the primary sex traits (aka organs) being mixed. Secondary intersex having to do solely with secondary sex traits (facial hair, breasts--stuff usually hormonally induced). The original hermaphrodite medical class (from which intersex was coined by as a non-medical community term) only applied to primary sex traits. The "nu-intersex" now also often allows secondary to traits count and considered anything labelled a DSD to count despite that the majority of things under the DSD label were not under the hermaphrodit3 label; only a handful of those under the DSD label were ever considered a type of hermaphroditism while most stuff now under DSD never was.
>>41570905I don’t personally see an issue in you coming here to talk>>41571086I think that the two separate categories could work, I guess my only real question with the distinction is where some people would be categorized. Like I’ll admit I’m dumb and am maybe over thinking due to my own body and it’s mess. That being said, I’m trying to read through a bunch of resources since I’d like to add them to the OP post so that there are references for people to go to if they want to learn more. Not just you but if anyone wants to post a link it would be greatly appreciated (archive links or pdfs are also welcomed)
>>41571086Where would things like XX/XY mosaicism and CAIS fit on this scale? Tbh I find the classification of gonadal (ovotestes & gonadal dysgenesis etc) vs chromosomal (Kleinfelters & mosaicism etc) vs hormonal (CAH & AIS etc) to be the most helpful
>>41572703Primary just means it impacted the primary sex organs. Specific diagnosis may or may not do this. IE: some instances of AIS may result in mullerian structures/mixed sex organs, while some instances of PAIS may have no mixed sex organs/no mixed primary sex traits. It is more anatomy/trait dependent than strictly diagnoses. Those with mixed primary sex traits--also called sex organs--have a somewhat different experience vs. those whos reproductive organs are not ambiguous, but who may not "look" normal otherwise due to secondary sex trait variations. Hormonal/gonadal/chromosomal also work, but some of the diagnoses don't always lead to an intersex body. Things like Klinefelter's, mosaicism, or CAH without any genital or sex organ ambiguity were not initially included.
>>41572792Oh that makes sense, by your system I'd be both primarily and secondarily intersex. I actually like that classification.
>>41572792Thank you for this clarification :) I was confused myself over this having mosaicism, since while I do have male genitalia it wasn’t formed correctly, it’s micro, parts were internal and I experienced hormonal issues. >not related but god I fucking hate pitch meetings kms
