I feel very dysphoric and cringe expressing myself in my native language, but English works just fine. What gives?

less gendered grammar in english perhaps? what is your native tongue esl-san?
>>

I feel the same way. I even think in English and have for years.

Give you an emotional distance to the subject at hand
Similar reason to writing shit out vs just talking about it
The logical level to it (you accessing your memory of the structure and rules of a different language / writing it out) simply helps your brain to not overthink it too much
>>
Why did you choose to be brown
>>

Slav

I'm 50/50
>>41569642
Fuck you bruh brown tranners are cute
>>
>>41568891
english is innately the superior language
>>
>>41569681
Slav, you Balkan maybe?

But I feel the same way, when people use she/her in English it feels nice when I have to use gendered words in croatian i cringe cuz I'm not even out socially
>>
i think it's the fact there's more discourse about it in english, especially through a medical lens

like im arab, you can probably guess what arabs think of gays & tranners - so the language reflects that: maybe the basic language *exists* (e.g. gender dysphoria = idh6irab al-hawiyya al-jinsiyya)

but the discourse is mostly unaccepting, outside of people with high enough openness to be fluent in english anyways

i think in a language if i am exposed to an idea through the language, the more i recieve an idea through a language the more i think of it in that language if that makes sense

like if im thinking about childhood memories i think in arabic, but if im thinking about what manga im reading i think in english

i think english is very basic in respect other languages, and it can give a clearer idea of what you are thinking without adding to much information on it

Probably becase you don't have gendered speaking habits in English that have been reinforced since birth. I'm a native English speaker and I feel less dysphoric while speaking Russian

t. knower of English German Russian Mandarin

It might be because you associate English with the virtual whereas your native language has a practical day-to-day function, which drives you to confront the reality of the situation.
>>
>>41568891
Because english isn't as close to the soul, so it's an extra layer of protection against the cringe
>>

same. also i think my voice passes better in both english and spanish than in portuguese
>>
I'm french and I largely prefer english because of how gendered french is
