>>41678438i find it ironic that gay people blame trans people for any negative view of them. Trans people have basically been their human shield that takes all of the heat off of them for a decade. Not willingly, of course, but still. Conservatives got so mindbroken over trans people that they were willing to ignore basically all other groups, even striking truces with "gays against groomers" types for years. I'm not saying gays need to be staunch advocates of trans, but it's just kind of amusing that they don't know the source of all their "success" is basically that they're being ignored in favor of what conservatives see as a bigger fish to fry. Strategically you'd want trans people to stick around for as long as possible, on an even footing in the fight with conservatives for as long as possible, if you want to continue to enjoy being ignored/tolerated.
