I don’t think people born after 2000 realize how new LGBT acceptance is. If a boy acted feminine in the 2000s the solution was to teach him to be more masculine. The idea of giving him hormones to turn him into a woman would get you branded as schizophrenic. Everyone except the most progressive of liberals thought this way, it wasn’t just a republican/conservative thing.
