This might seem like a weird question to ask but do you guys go to church?

Not for dogma, no
But more for like, the community, the ambience, the calmness, etc.
>>
No, I'm gay and the purpose of religion is to suppress homosexuality so I avoid it entirely.
>>
>>41687361
Not as often as I want to but yeah.
>>
>Not for like dogma
What's the point then
>>
>>41687402
I just said the reasons in the OP, anon

>>41687374
That's fair

>>41687396
Do people look at you weird or anything or do they not know "you"?
>>
>>41687361
Yeah, but for dogma/ambience. I'm kind of antisocial.
>>
>>41687422
I go with appropriate attire and act naturally, but I'm not super involved. Never been an issue. Different places are different though.
>>
only for easter and sometimes christmas
>>
>>41687449
That's fair
>Dogma
interesting... how do you reconcile that with... whatever you are, gay or trans or whatever

>>41687452
I see, I see

>>41687454
Fair and valid too
Falls under community

I have a local LARP park that I go attend every sunday, I call it "Nerd Church," and its where I get my primary feeling of community.

Also like one-in-ten LARPers are trans so it's always nice to be able to go inter-state events and have a large amount of other genderqueers to hang out with at the campfire.
Even in my small town there's enough enbies here to fill a picnic table.

Secular, I like it
I asked about religion specifically because... I'm into it
Call it catholic guilt or whatever but I was never a catholic
>>
I went crazy and now I have delusions about god and stuff so I kind of want to go to see if it's comfy to listen to somebody rant about god in front of a crowd.

You know what'd probably be good?

Serious, genuine, not-making-fun-of-it religious ASMR.

>>
>>41687514

I started going after I had a schizophrenic breakdown and overwhelming sense of pain following the Catholic school shooting. Albeit I was baptized Episcopal but half the people in my family were baptized Catholics and I think that had more to do with it than some satanist gunning down kids.

>But more for like, the community, the ambience

Yes, I mean once learning some of the prayers and what to say/when to say it during mass, it does feel like a giant ritual and when 200 ppl say the prayers all at once it is very

>the calmness, etc.
Yeah, I just want to be cleansed from my sins tbqh through a relationship with the Holy Spirit. I'm not even really sure what that means but im already way opened to spirits which is sort of what got me in this mess to begin with so my body is open and willing for jesus to be free again.
>>
Some churches are ok with fags these days. I still don't go though because that means going outside.
>>
>>41687361
Not currently, but I've considered going for most of the reasons you've described so thanks for the indirect reminder.
>>41689777
>Serious, genuine, not-making-fun-of-it religious ASMR.
Surely that must be out there somewhere already. I'd definitely be interested in listening.

It feels weird to go to church regularly if you don’t actually believe in all the shit. Like am I actually going to make my primary social circle formed around a lie, that I believe in the same stuff as the rest of them when I really don’t?
