You probably think the Dragon Ball series is bad because you don't understand the depth of the show. Naruto does emotional storytelling the absolute best. I would argue the worldbuilding, character relationships are also the best. There are writing flaws, such as the ending and the war arc being convoluted.But the beginning of the show is pretty much objectively good.
