The style does work for the other characters though.This is purely about the prose novels, as the GN strips out a lot, including a ton of context.As a whole, the books are fast reads, but the writer has loaded all of them with detail that seems like window dressing until you have additional information. Don't be fooled by the fake-out heroine it opens with. Series is overall slow burn but not because of misunderstandings or antagonism; the characters know what's happening and where things are going.I think the follow-up material with the gay already locked in is the better read if you aren't super invested in the girl. It's more focused and has more interesting twists and Ronan's actual character arc.
