So say your vial is 40mg/ml.If you draw 0.1 ml, that's 4mg... Or is it?Because the esther (valerate, cypionate etc) is a separate ingredient that the estradiol connects to.So if, hypothetically, your 0.1ml is 50% esther, doesn't that mean it's a 2mg dose instead?Or does the esther count as part of the estradiol? How does this work?pic unrelated
>>41896328the *concentration (40mg/mL) tells you the answer
>>41896393But every volume contain other ingredients
>>41896328i think the ester counts as part of the estradiol. its still estradiol, still connects to the same receivers it'd normally attach to, the difference is the length of the ester connected, that affects how fat soluble it is
>>41896415you're overthinking this and/or i'm not understanding what you mean.
this is actually a pretty cool subject. im gonna research it for a bit, but the wikipedia page on Estrogen Esters has a pretty neat table that highlights your concerns (about dosage, the percentage of estrogenic effect by weight, and such)so basically the ester matters. EEn has 71% E2 content by weight compared to pure Estradiol, while EV has 76%. EC has 69%. EUn has 62%.
>>41896613(so the same dosage of EEn would have 71% of the estrogenic effect that pure E would have if injected with the same dose. of course, fat solubility matters and its way better to have long lasting esters in your fat, so you'll have more consistent levels without having to inject so much.
>>41896328it doesnt matter because the amount of a given ester you need to inject is based on levels, not on pure estradiol weight. theoretically, the longer acting an ester is, the less estradiol it has by weight, so you need to inject more, but the difference is small in this contexthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Structural_properties_of_selected_estradiol_esters
>>41896613>>41896641So I should be injecting 30% more to compensate?
>>41896691No just use this calculator: https://estrannai.se/4mg of EEn/wk is pretty ideal
>>41896691nope! i'd recommend you check sites like estrannaise, they show you the curves based on mg injected. helps a lot in visualizing your progress and how much you're injecting.the difference between molecular weight is also one of the reasons we suggest different dosages between esters, i guess. smaller, more frequent doses are recommended for EV, while bigger, but more infrequent doses are recommended for stuff like EEn. human bodies are so fucking cool.
>>41896709>>41896718I'm on pharmaceutical grade injectable birth control (1ml - 10mg/een 150mg/dhpa) and injecting 300 microliters to look at how my blood tests look. Then I'll bump it to 400 or maybe 450 mcg.Fingers crossed this shit works
>>41896755ik thread adjacent but i had a questionsdoctor is willing to start me on injections but is only offering 5mg/EV every other week (or less weekly) with titration after 3 monthsim on 10mg sublingual a day. am i smoking dick or will switching to this dose fucking hurt
>>41896755perlutan? 0.3ml would get you around 3mg EEn, which is small for monotherapy but hopefully should work. dunno abt dhpa but i've heard it works as an anti-androgen (havent checked if that's true or not, so take it with a grain of salt)i'm assuming you're taking it weekly, instead of 1ml/14 days?anyhow, good luck nona! i've seen a lot of people with good results on perlutan, u should be good to go.
>>418968205mg of EV every other week is imo a hondose. Valerate is ass anyway. The fuck is titration?
>>41896840Yeah I'm doing 300mcg/week. It's lowish but I wanna do that before bumping it up. Too worried about DHPA raising my prolactin to hell and making life unlivable.
>>41896820Your doctor is insane. 5mg/wk is my weekly dose and the only reason why I don't get higher is because it would nuke my T too much and I get sick.
>>41896941>300mcgI mean microliters
>>41896820your doctor is giving you a friendly reminder that they do not give a shit about your transitionget the prescription so you're covered and then diy, take control of your own body and health and transition
>>41896755>>41896941are you planning on taking it weekly? ive been on 1ml every 2 weeks since april and my levels (E2, T, DHT, LH and FSH, etc) are good but my prolactin was slightly higher (like 32ng/mL iirc) BUT i was taking 12.5mg of cypro once a week bc i was too scared of some other things that in the end it was nothing. so yeah now i stopped the cypro and i believe my prolactin is smaller
>>41896983I am doing .3ml a week already.
>>41896820that EV dosage should be illegal wtf do you mean 5mg/10-14 daysyeah that's some honscience, keep on ur current regimen until something changes. some doctors are batshit insane>>41896941fair enough. i jumped straight to 5mg/week, but that's cuz i already had done 3 months of sublingual E + cypro
>>41896995i know some trans women that do that regime and they're fine. the standard for weekly injections is indeed 0.5ml but as i said i've seen some other trannies taking 0.3ml weekly with good results (same with some taking 0.7/0.8 biweekly instead of the full 1ml dose). anyway yeah it depends on your body, only with blood tests to really know whats suitable for you
>>41897053I wanna find my minimum effective dose. My mom's father had thrombosis once so I'm kinda scared of going full retard lmao
>>41897146Injections and patches carry basically zero blood clot risk
>>41897160Clotting is inherent to estradiol
>>41897176ehh. just the normal amount of clotting that a normal cis woman's bound to have. shit that really used to cause clotting was discontinued from our practices a long ass time ago (like non-bioidentical estrogens)
>>41897198"Bioidentical" means fuck all, it's all synthetic
>>41897218amazing.
>>41897233Comeon, thats correct
>>41897218Bioidentical means that it's an exact match for the hormones our bodies naturally produce rather than "just close enough" like premarin.
>>41897463So we can say it's synthetically bioidentical.
>>41896328in chemistry we would say that you're medicine is an estrogen ester. So yes it's part of the estrogen. We make it into an ester so it stays in your fat and when it comes out your body removes the ester part and makes estrogen. Technically larger esters have higher molecular weight so the same amount in grams of a smaller ester is more individual estrogen-ester molecules. But this difference is really small and most people are adjusting their dose too target a certain blood level not get a bang-on consistent molar amount of estrogen. You certainly do not need to double it.
>>41897494The synthetic part doesn't matter so it's an unnecessary prefix.
>>41897494estrogen in cis women is also synthesized., so mentioning that it is synthetic is retarded. Bioidentical already carries that information plus the information that it is chemically identical
>>41897218i mean. yeah its all synthetic. bioidentical means that it's exactly the same estradiol that's produced by our bodies. the opposite of bioidentical isnt synthetic, its non-bioidentical. the same estradiol in EV, EEn, EUn and stuff like that is just like our estrogen, down to the molecular structure. stuff like ethinylestradiol may connect to the same estrogen receptors as normal estrogen might, but it has molecular differences, so it's non-bioidentical.
>>41897655>>41897573>>41897534Ok sorry for being stupid
>>41897670it's ok anon I thought you're chudposting like>watch out for that scary synthetic chemical estrogen!
>>41897708Grandpa's leg clotted out so I have the right to chud it up
>>41897670its ok! lot of misinformation gets spread around abt hrt. better to figure this out rn than to spend 3 years without transitioning because youre scared (god i was so fucking stupid 3 years ago, wish i could get that time back)
>>41897733What am I supposed to do should I clot? After leaving the hospital? I can never get on hrt ever again?
>>41897760if it happens, you'll probably get prescribed blood thinners or something like that. hrt isnt really something you can quit. (i mean, you can, but that would be inhumane). what do women do after getting a blood clot? you'd probably get prescribed the same stuff desu
>>41897800hrt isnt really the catalyst of the blood clot. yeah it'll raise your chances from a cis man percentage to a cis woman's percentage, but that's what happens with breast cancer as well. at that point, you go thru the same steps a woman would. hrt really does change ur sex.
>>41897760rather than freaking out about this online maybe you would feel better if you know you are take steps to try to reduce your chances of blood clot issues? You don't smoke right? Do you get enough exercise? avoid too much junk food?
>>41897833I don't smoke, do calisthenics every other day (went from a completely atrophied back to a full pull-up in 4 months time, currently doing 5 consecutive ones) and I try to keep a low(er) sodium diet bc my kidneys like to poop out calcium in excess (I'm on daily 25mg hydrochlorothiazide which prevents exactly that).I am addicted to sugar and sissy porn though.
>>41897866if your blood pressure's good and you're otherwise healthy then you should have no issues at allget a blood pressure monitor, track your readings over time in a spreadsheetyou're apparently in decent shape so you're gonna be fine nona! pull-ups are fun
>>41897963At rest I'm at 110/70 and 120/80 when not.
