The ideal is straight up doing a 1:1 copy of something that artist did, then iterating on it, ideally with a very different type of pose and angle etc but still the same character and environment, does a lot to help me improve. But I haven't done it in a while since I find it so boring.. I already mostly study so when I try to draw something for fun I just have like a "artstyle goal" somewhere on screen to kinda try to use that style for whatever I'm making but without like copying beforehand etc. Idk. These ones of this big eared woman were without any sort of style refs, and for the one u replied to I just drew what I remembered her looking like (I actually messed up quite a bit). It's kinda more fun if at some points I just let myself do whatever.
