You misunderstand this website. It is known for being full of reactionaries and social regressive. But that is because it is a platform that provides largely unmoderated (at least in theory LOL) room to talk about anything. The 2010s were a weird time in that there were more people seeking transition than there were before, due to the internet improving visibility. At the same time there was not wide social acceptance, it was at best indifferent. What we did have, though, was a very specific loud sort of queer activism online and in corporate settings. It was a very forced and sterile expression of trans culture and it heavily policed how even trans people express themselves and their transition. Put simply we did not have spaces to talk openly without conforming to a specific queer zeitgeist. And that zeitgeist was lame and weird. Very few of the people who would post here had alternatives irl either, its not like all trans women are hyper confident dolls living in NYC. There were a lot of hikki neet autists needing a space too. And so 4chan was a strange place in which it was the natural community space for both nazis and hikki neet trans girls, many of whom had thoughts that were more complex/negative than what was deemed appropriate for hyperlib trans spaces elsewhere
