Anon wants to flex when it is covered and how their FFS was 90,000 dollars (as they will use the insurance cost). Maybe someday all the baby trans will realize surgery is too expensive because now insurance is covering these procedures, so the doctors will max out the price so they can get as much as possible from insurance. The latter will be pulled up without them, and the insurance plans that actually cover this will continue to get more unaffordable, especially since there is no gatekeeping and everyone thinks it's just free if they have insurance.

he's way overpriced but I went to DB and I'm pretty happy with my results tbdesu. I don't feel like I got bogged and I'm much happier with how my face looks after surgery.

The real flex is skipping the line and self-paying, because some surgeons have separate waitlists for insurance and self-pay. It's literally the difference between 3 years and 3 months in some cases.

>The real flex is skipping the line and self-paying
I agree with you on that part

>insurance and self-pay
The problem is that there is what the Surgeon will charge insurance example, the 90K number, what the Insurance will pay the Surgeon, example 50k of the 90k, what the surgeon will charge for self-pay.

All the tiktok FFS girl will go around throwing the number 90k FFS with Doctor XYZ. which the baby trans consumer will be like "Like wow rich kid", or "I am doom to fail and look like a man forever since i can not get that kind of money" In reality the tiktok FFS girl never paid 90k or 50k but the deductable which may be 10K

The self-pay is going to be close to what the insurance will pay out (usually) so say about 50K (all example numbers, but how plenty of doctors do it) or maybe a little less as it is cash money (they are fucking you if they try to charge more). The problem was prior to the day of all the surgeons taking insurance, the self-financed price was way lower as that is what the market would bear, and now, since insurance covers it the price for self-pay goes way up as that is the new market rate

If you can get an insurance that will cover umm great, but every year the price of that surgery is going to rise because the surgeon knows he/she can jack it up a little bit more and get it covered, meaning the self-finance price goes up.. Meaning, unless you have some insurance (that explicitly covers the surgery) and can pay down the deductibles that keep rising, you are basically priced out.

I paid $50k OOP or so for DB, self-pay, his office is kind of a PITA with insurance stuff for trying to get out of network reimbursements unfortunately. I'm happy with my results but somewhat annoyed that they were entirely unwilling to submit certain documents that the insurance company said had to directly come from the provider :( oh well
>>
>>41962948
so what you're saying is that the health insurance industry is fucked and we need more luigi
>>
>>41962948
Yeah, the way insurance works in the US is fucked. I had $150k set aside for a vaginoplasty revision in case insurance didn't cover it. In the end it did, and I had to pay less than $10k of my own money.

Part of the problem is insurance covering more and more things beyond basic labs + HRT + SRS. Now people want it to cover FFS + BA + BBL + ... in addition to the basic stuff, because more and more people are transitioning, and none of them are the type of people who can pass without surgery after surgery. If insurance bows to demand and starts covering all those things, then everyone's premiums will rise and employers will stop including gender affirming care in their insurance packages.

Back when it was just labs + HRT + SRS, and the rate of people transitioning was 1 in 10,000, the cost to employers of including it in their benefits was tiny per employee per year.

To make a hon pass you'd need to alter so much bone structure you'd br practically replacing their entire skull.
>>
>>41963754
And the rest of the skeleton too. That's what the people who need FFS don't understand: FFS alone isn't enough if you don't already pass.
