I don't go to any LGBT spaces and am becoming quite transphobic because of this. I just want to be a normal woman and silently assimilate into society. When I dated my gf, she indicated she'd like to go stealth. So I maintained that she was just a cis woman. I did it to friends, my family, and everyone I met. If I don't have a reason to out anyone, I keep people stealth. That is not "I'll out you if they ask nicely" stealth or "they pressured me by asking the same question twice and I immediately cracked under pressure and outed you" stealth. I maintain everyone is cis unless they want me to out them or if it is not tenable to keep you stealth because you are 3/10 pretty and 80% of a fridge silhouette.

4channers, of course, largely dream of going stealth and we all understand that outing people is stupid and wrong. My gf met a mutual 4chan friend of mine who clocked her and later made a huge exposé post in some tranny discord outing her. The mutual friend thought it was one of the most bizarre things she had ever seen that I would keep someone stealth and inherent in that I would maintain my gf is a cis woman.

At the core of the mutual friend's probable feelings, she probably felt she had been deceived and I was doing some strange t4c stolen valour. She felt the next proper step was then to out my gf across some tranny discord and it turned into some stupid drama.

I recall at the time how I wondered how times had changed since I was younger. Stealth is now sufficiently obscure enough as a concept that people honestly get more pissed off you're doing t4c stolen valour and, as crabs in a bucket, will needlessly out others. It made me realise that short of upending an entire life, moving elsewhere, cutting off connections, and starting stealth fresh like a witness protection program, the moment someone knows they could just have a melty and now it's all useless.

No hard feelings for the mutual friend though, given she is a 4channer and may be reading this. I just wish she had reflected that inherent in stealth is the wink nudge that she is ALSO being "deceived" and she needs to shut the fuck up.

A few of the instances in her story could be the /tttt/ effect where people in queer spaces ask pronouns every 5 minutes because it’s assumed everyone identifies as GNC now.
