I knew a doctor could prevent it and that I'd need more surgery to fix it and that my loved ones could do something. And it was miserable because youth transition was not a common thing back then (2005)--but I still had a plan to do it and the courage to come out. My family held my arms behind me as my body slowly deformed.I only got therapy specifically for trauma related to this years later, but it made a difference to me. I encourage you to seek help if you can, specifically for trauma. Whatever meaning you find in this story is going to be determined by you alone. It is so shitty that your parents placed you in this situation by neglecting to get you proper medical care.
