Why so many pro trans still considering transgenderism as a disease?
>>
TS has nothing to do with transgenderism.
>>
>>42032353
this lol why is your understanding of what it means to be "pro-trans" informed by erotica
>>
>>42032344
My gender dysphoria is a disease.
I have a medical condition and the only treatment that is proven to be effective is gender affirming care/transition.
As long as it is considered a disease, I have an implied right to effective treatment in my country. The self ID fuckers that do not want it to be considered a medical condition are literally fucking people out of guaranteed health care, just so some trenders that lack dysphoria can feel included and special.

The past few years have really highlighted just how right the trans medicalists were all along.

i agree that gender dysphoria is and should be considered a mental illness but transgenderism really isn't necessarily and i think that distinction is important, although i don't know if normies will ever understand...you definitely can transition without dysphoria and be happy (see incel transmaxxers) and hormones should be easily accessible to anyone over the counter at any pharmacy. i think a diagnosis of gender dysphoria as prerequisite for something like insurance-covered srs is reasonable and good, but all of this stuff should be way less gatekept by psychopathology.
the way forward should not be to keep healthcare inaccessible to all but those for whom it has been deemed necessary by some third party, but to make it more accessible to everyone in the name of freedom and bodily autonomy......ideally, anyways.
>>
>>42032524
if you transitioned and didn't get reverse dysphoria you were already a repper either a normal troon or some kind of nonbinary thing
>>
>>42032344
If it's not a disease then why should insurance or free healthcars cover it??
>>
>>42032524
Gatekeeping is good when the resources are limited. I'd rather want free healthcare to go to those with actual dysphoria than those are just transitioning for cosmetic purposes.
>>

the WHO delisted transsexualism as a disease in 2019 and since then our rights have been in freefall in most of the west. overall the places with self-ID in europe are also the ones where trans people fare the worst in more practical daily matters like healthcare. look at ireland for instance, you can change your legal gender by filling out a form and mailing it to the government but if you want HRT with public healthcare you have to wait 5+ years. generally it would seem that having transsexualism be recognised as a medical issue and not a social one is a good thing.

Because the only supply chain with a QA assurance system to speak of (not that DIY doesn't attempt quality assurance; there is simply no organization we trust to give a seal of approval, it is not on the level as say Claritin) is largely based on there being a clinical need for it. Which is not to say there isn't, many people including myself are truly suicidal because we're dysphoric. but we also have a need for OTC meds and like, water. With that said, the criteria for gender dysphoria are extremely broad and easy for someone to meet. You'll notice that there's many conditions like this, this is because pharmaceutical associations know that ones psychology can't be determined via checklist and operates such that doctors have discretion regarding their patients. But herein lies exactly the problem: that "discretion" can be used to arbitrarily fuck up patients, through the likes of hondosing and refusing to prescribe, this gatekeeping can and does occur outside of official contexts. Pharmacists can refuse to give meds to patients, this happened to a friend of mine (who honestly mogs me but dresses like an androgynous punk). In my case I had an endo who took advantage of me, I know two others who were victimized in this way too.

imo, it's bad that we have to waiting for trannies to have suicide levels of mental illness before giving them hormones, it's also bad that our transitions must be rubber stamped by doctors first who don't always have our best interests at heart. But unfortunately we don't have the means to recreate what will replace it. It would require the dissolution of the DEA, and serious radical reform to the FDA and department of health. I doubt that it will happen as long as we have a liberal government with our constitution, but if any reformist libertarian or socialist types want to prove me wrong id be happy to have you as guest.

Hormones aren't a scarce resource, it's an artificial scarcity at best. Look into how many menopausal cis women are given estrogen for whatever reason, or teens they were arbitrarily prescribed hormones because their parents want them to play football or don't think they're maturing fast enough. It's sickening to look at and if there's anywhere hormones should stop being wasted it's here, not on holding it back from the narrow fraction of trannies who are too autistic or w/e else to say the line for a diagnosis.

Thailand doesn't have that problem. And wait lists were just as long if not longer in Ireland before 2019, this is exactly why susans place "transsexuals" (all of whom are on a cope about it) don't pass. this is exactly why we call them hons in fact, it is where the word "hon" comes from them saying it.

Estrogen should be OTC, not withheld. You are prescribed hormones because you have a good relationship with your doctor. If you had a different doctor such as some of the NBs I've met for instance, you would be gatekept over differences of opinion or something as reasonable and commonplace as boymoding in fact.

Trans healthcare is not just hormones tho
Honestly it's unfair to those transitioning out of gender dysphoria if we lump them together with those who do it for cosmetic reasons. The ones with gender dysphoria should obviously be given the priority. The ones transitioning for other reasons mostly tend to be from upper classes anyway and they can afford anything.
>>

>Thailand doesn't have that problem
yeah this is talking about the western world primarily. the cultural perception of gender nonconformity isnt the same in thailand as it is in european countries of christian heritage, and anyway im not educated enough on thailand to speak about it.
>And wait lists were just as long if not longer in Ireland before 2019
source? i turned 18 in 2014 and i might be misremembering but i think that back then it was more like 2-3 years to get seen in loughlinstown. getting a referral was harder because less GPs were aware of the issue (im from the west lol maybe it was different in dublin at the time) but the actual waitlist was shorter. i emigrated to france not long after and still live abroad now but my impression is that access to any kind of public service in ireland has gotten worse under the succession of fine gael-led stiff upper lip governments, not better, and trans healthcare logically would be no exception.
>this is exactly why we call them hons in fact, it is where the word "hon" comes from them saying it.
bruh im not a newfag lol you dont need to explain the origin of the word hon to me.
>Estrogen should be OTC, not withheld
i dont disagree with this. ive only really ever been on DIY apart from a brief stint in france where i had a cool doctor, every other one ive met has been an imbecile when it comes to dosages so i think you should simply be able to prescribe yourself estrogen if you want it.

Tbh with you I don't know anyone who genuinely does it for cosmetics, oftentimes it's just said as a cope. Before I transitioned I thought I just wanted to be a feminine man like anime traps, because I identified as a crossdresser and posted on lgbt and the CD board on 420 and wherever else. But witnessing how things have changed since then makes me realize how much all of that is cope.
>They're from the upper classes anyway
Fair I'll drink to that. Though it's honestly kind of sad that those with the most resources to transition tend to be complete retards about it. If I had the free time afforded by that wealth I would be doing my research, not paying people to be agreeable and throwing my weight around, self-deluding and stuff like that. I would be fucking gracious and think about my entitlement. I hate the rich. sorry I'm high on kratom
>>
>>42033133
>Timelines used to be shorter in my town
Oh I'm sorry anon, I didn't realize you were from there my bad. In America this has caused hormones to be available in more places and shorter wait lists. Thanks for the information on where you live
>>
>>42033302
im from a city not a town, sorry to nitpick lol i just want to be clear i didnt grow up on craggy island. there is, or was at the time, only one public gender identity clinic in all of ireland and its in dublin, to get HRT from them you need to be referred by your GP or a psychiatrist and then they assess and gatekeep you. because the west of ireland is more conservative on average you would often have a harder time finding a GP whos even aware the GIC exists let alone knows how to refer you, thats the point im making. i think thats likely changed now because public awareness of trans people has improved in the past ten years, but the waitlist for the GIC is definitely much worse than it was when i was younger and theres no real political will to change things. activists have been trying to get GPs to prescribe HRT for years now but obviously the consultants in the GIC maintain a lot of power from being the only people in public healthcare who are able to prescribe HRT and thus would like to hold onto it. power-hungry consultants blocking change is an issue in irish healthcare across the board though and why we have some of the worst ratings of OECD countries for healthcare access.

>I'm from a city
MY BAD I'm sorry anon. Please excuse my retarded American-ness
>There is or was only one public gender identity clinic
Oh.. im so fucking sorry. I heard Ireland has it bad. Is it true that sinn fein is transphobic?
>Public awareness has changed in the past ten years
>but it is hasn't evenly dispersed
>And this has put additional strain on the institutions that do address it
Makes complete sense and I'm sorry.
>Power hungry consultants blocking change
I think this touched on the crux of my point. These are artificially created scarcities that basically exist to put resource distribution in the hands of corrupt people who are probably taking bribes. Nobody is bribing for hormones probably, or maybe they are, but we know that in general prohibition and the conservative attitudes supporting it are a result of moneyed interests. Of course money makes the world go round and for there to be more e on the island someone will have to pay to have it imported. But sheesh.
>>
>>42033383
>Is it true that sinn fein is transphobic?
uhhh, hard to say, its leadership not particularly but elements of the party might be? they do have a rural catholic base thats more socially conservative, but the parliamentary party in the republic of ireland has a good record as far as supporting lgbt rights goes, northern ireland is another story. i would be way more concerned about the centre-right parties lurching to the right though. fine gaels failed presidential candidate called for a review of self-ID and said she believes a woman is a female adult, stuff like that. mostly i dont think theres major political will to make things either noticeably worse or noticeably better for trans people but it may not stay that way, who knows.
>These are artificially created scarcities that basically exist to put resource distribution in the hands of corrupt people
this i agree with entirely yeah. like i said it applies to a lot of things and not just HRT. you could apply this exact sentence to something like housing too.

the reason trooning sucks in all those countries is because you first need a referral from a gp, then you need to spend years getting evaluated by some fucker who could pretty much deny you because you're ugly or because he doesnt like you (something youd probably like because it "filters" the "faketroons" even though it basically only makes it easier for faketrans gay men)
maybe after that you can possibly get a shitty dose of blockers and 0.05mg pills, but it was worth it because those faketrans got denied!! enjoy being a hon
hrt should just be otc because transitioning is a time sensitive thing and anyone who does the legit route will always get fucked over by long wait times, shitty doctors, and terrible dosages
plus then you can only blame yourself for taking it, we dont blame big allergy medicine when someone ODs on benadryl
take responsibility for your life, health, and body
