is it safe to get on HRT while having a family history of breast cancer? can estrogen increase the risk of me getting cancer? will i DIE??
>>
>>42036899
yes yes no. your risk will increase but it's not like all your female relatives died from cancer the moment they started puberty
>>
>>42036899
>family history
Get yourself tested for BRCA mutation if you can, that will do a huge amount for actually quantifying the risk.
>>
>>42036899
take injections to reduce the risk and at worst if its actually a concern you'll stop them after getting balls removed so you'll be a estrogenized eunuch
>>
>>42036899
do >>42036952 and also be aware that if you have monotherapy levels it'll probably increase your risk relative to cis women.
>>
>>42036899
>will i DIE??
yes
>>
>>42036899
What exactly is the history like, and how common is it?
Like not just frequency, but also type of cancer, aggression levels, and survivability of treatment.
Ex. Breast cancer is semi common in my family, but also its usually a less aggressive kind and importantly, all people who went through treatment were able to bounce back fine after.

afaik my aunt is the only one who had it, and she had to remove one of her boobs because of this. i became paranoid when my mom told me she could only take "natural hormones", because, apparently, traditional HRT would be too risky. idk if i'm overreacting tho
>>
>>42037430
Your mom is retard modern hrt is bioidentical and only has the same risks of having it naturally produced if you inject, oral hrt doesn't have increased breast cancer risk either though just increased blood clot risk
>>
>>42039658
yeah, that's true. i'm still a bit concerned with monotherapy tho. like >>42037081
said.
>>
Any thoughts on someone whose family had no history of breast cancer, but their mother had breast cancer?
>>
>>42040075
Same btw
Shes still alive (sadly?) though
>>
>>42040094
It's spooky.
Mine isn't alive, but not from breast cancer. She had a stroke in the middle of treatment. Ya never know, I guess.
>>
>>42040128
If only I were so lucky
The prize would be if my father died though. He's in jail for extreme rapes and the money would help ngl
>>
>>42040012
There's no evidence that higher levels of estrogen increase breast cancer risk, cis women have levels higher than needed for monotherapy at the peak of their cycle and magnitudes more during pregnancy, yet there's no statistics showing pregnancy increases breast cancer risk. What increases breast cancer risk is just amount of breast tissue
>>
>>42041564
So basically, bigger tits, more tissue that can get cancerous?
>>
>>42042248
It's breast tissue amount + time you have had it, so you'll actually be more safe than a cis woman since you'll only now start accumulating time having breasts
