No, most fans like the books purely for nostalgia. They don't care that they don't hold up to scrutiny or don't have star wars prequels tier autist lore. For example, I liked the books as a kid. Never even saw all the movies since I aged out of them before they all came out. Got my money's worth out of the game as a fun nostalgia trip. The Disney adult type fans are a minority.
