Puberty blockers are used for unsafe applications in cis children as well.
Short stature is sometimes treated with exogenous growth hormone, even in children without a diagnosed deficiency. This almost happened to me (and because it didn't I'm not quite even 5' tall).
Sometimes growth hormone is prescribed alongside puberty blockers or aromatase inhibitors to delay epiphyseal closure to give the GH longer to work. One of the studies TERFs picked up on to go after puberty blockers was a study of its use to treat short stature, and they concluded that 6+ year courses prescribed alongside GH can lead to diminished adult bone density.
