>>42044128It's just as bad (if not worse) in STEM. Women are treated like precious unicorns in schools and the workplace, because there are so few of them. I recently had a professor call all of us men "barbarians" while talking to a woman in an EE class.And besides, STEM acadeem has — maybe more so than other fields — adopted a mindset of "the future is female," only to attract more women. They have special exclusive meetings on campus, with no equivalent for men at all.It might be better if you're trans but I wouldn't count on it.

Some of them just broadly consider themselves superior to the men in attendance (and they often do get better grades), some are nicer. It's hard to generalize. It's not the women pushing this fwiw, it's the (((staff))). Some women just really swallow it up

Talking with authority and detail that it's almost distracting.American ones just chuck girls of their field in almost uselessly. They offset the male speaker count manually and have them chime in with the most, "yeah, fucking duh" tier quips. They're often younger and do not really convince you they know any more about the field than you do as a passive "researcher" / documentary enjoyer.
